I have a older stick so I can’t add storage also I start up and then I get control on screen then it says it’s updating only takes 1 to 2 minutes but it does nothing

I'm in a wheelchair and getting to the firestick in back of my tv on the wall is difficult. So what I thought of was to get an hdmi cable that was long enough with a male and female end to connect to the firestick. Now it's in perfect reach for me to unplug occasionally and keep it cool.

Yes you can. Are you planning on attaching the ssd to the Firestick with an OTG or accessing the ssd remotely?

Hi Tanja, is there a way that you can watch 3-D movies via the app? I have an MX Player Pro and also Ludio Player installed with the Ola10 app. This app also contains 3-D Movies. My television is 3-D capable, but if it doesn't get a 3-D signal, it doesn't show the film in 3-D, but side by side or on top of each other. Do you have an idea how to do this or is there a player that forwards the signal? Many thanks in advance.

Hi, I have an issue can u plz guide or provide some input.
Recently I have factory reset my firestick via a mobile application. Now the device is on initial setup and asking to press the home button from the remote to proceed further.
As my firestick is not connected to wifi and also it is stuck on initial setup I'm unable to proceed further. Can I pair a new remote during initial setup or how to bypass this initial setup without a remote.
Yes, you should be able to pair a new remote at this stage.

I use your site,also tdk & doc squiffy,on all 3 the set orientation app will not work it states it's a older version.
If you see an message "This app was built for an older version of Android and may not work properly. Try checking for updates, or contact the developer" click OK and ignore the message. The Set orientation app will work correctly.
I have one horizontal line across my television I only use two HDMI ports one for Firestick and the other for my PlayStation.. Any suggestions to fix this?
Could be a faulty HDMI port or HDMI cable. Try replacing the cable to PlayStation.
Remove both devices from HDMI. Plug in one at a time, trying both HDMI ports to identify if one or both are an issue.
Report issue to your TV manufacturer.

Hi.. Im a recent new user of Fire TV 4k Max... I am unable to watch any vod e.g. Cartoon HD as it asks for player to be installed however I am un able to find it and I have tried VLC and MX Pro... can you suggest what player the system is ask for or why the 2 spps above don't work....

As per one of your previous videos I upgraded my ethernet adapters. I have two firesticks. The first one I changed went from 90mps DL to 220. And, I was very happy. I changed out my second adapter and it was actually slower than the Amazon adapter. It went from 90 to 50. I redid it several times. I think the second one was defective. Any comment. Thank you, Larry
Is it the same version Firestick and are you using the same brand OTG cable/adapter? Are you using the same brand ethernet cable?
If everything is EXACTLY the same, then yes. You could have a defective adapter and should probably return it.
I didn't know you could upgrade the ethernet adapter 🧐 that's next on my list

How can I remove or stop a Player app from "launch by default". The only way I can do this is to uninstall that Player app and reinstall. I can't find an option on my 2018 FS 4k to easily stop that action. Help appreciated. Thanks.
To prevent an app from launching by default, open the app and go to Settings. There should be a setting to turn launch on startup off.
@@FireTVSticks Sadly that's not available. I didn't want to give too much info as it's via a movie app, where you choose, use external players and have a choice of once only or always once selected. I did this as always and I'm now unable to select another player to try. The Player app via the FS manage section says "this app will launch by default for some actions." I've looked everywhere, perhaps you can replicate? The only way is to uninstall the player and reinstall. Thanks.
@@colinphillipson4830 Without knowing which app you are referring to, I cannot help; sorry. However, there should be an option within the Settings of the movie app to change default playback controls. If not, then try a different app or use the internal player.
@@FireTVSticks Wasn't sure on your rules on naming apps? It's BeeTV. Its default is now HB Player, it was Titan player. It's the fact it allows the always option then unable to change to another external player, unless you select once every time. Thought the FS op system would have had a default app section to delete but obviously no simple way to resolve apart from installing/reinstalling. Thanks.

Usb storage will run slow some apps on usb will not work properly
Yes. Increasing storage is likely to make your Firestick run slower when launching apps and moving around the menus. This is due to the fact that files on your USB storage cannot be read as fast as they can be read directly on the internal device storage.
I recommend to use high speed USB 3.0 drives, even though Fire TV Devices have a 2.0 USB port. This is because USB 3.0 drives tend to have faster read/write speeds and will perform better, even when connected to USB 2.0 ports.
