Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 вер 2024
- Hello my UA-cam friends :) I hope you will enjoy this video where I explain the process of cleaning raw alpaca fiber. It is a very time consuming job, but also rewarding, and perhaps a bit of a cheaper alternative than buying processed alpaca hair. I really hope my explanations were clear and that this will encourage you to give it a go ^__^ Don't forget to let me know what you think! Your feedback is always super appreciated and I read every single comment I get!
My next video is scheduled to go live on the 29th of March, at that time I will already be in Japan so if you want to follow my adventures overseas then you can find me on instagram @andreja :)

I always told myself I would never buy raw alpaca because I was discouraged by others who told me it was very tedious and a messy process. This video makes it look simple and easier than I imagined. I know that it is time-consuming, but I think I might give it a go :) Can't wait for the dying tutorial, been waiting so long for it as it's my least favourite part and I'd like an easier way for it!
Me too yay
I really needed this I've been looking everywhere for a proper clean cut step by step of this and couldn't find anywhere. I love this series because it's so straight forward and thorough. Thank you so much for taking the time to do that for all of us I'll be looking forward to the next one
Thank you very much! :)
Great Video! I am loving this series. BJD wigs can get really expensive. Thank you

Thank you so much! :D
Would Remington flat irons be better to straiten the hair
I have to say...your videos are really inspiring! I didnt know that alpaca fibers could be used for wigs, and now that I saw your video I realised this is exactly tht kind of texture that I have always wanted for one of my BJD! for now I still have a wig from the company but now I know I need alpaca, and I will buy some and follow your instruction as soon as I can! Thanks again, and keep on the excellent work! ^^
Aude Fouliard Thank you for watching and the lovely comment :)
Can I just say that your voiceovers are so calm and relaxing!! I often find myself running your videos in the background while I'm getting ready for work or late at night before I go to bed
TheSpazzIncc Awwwh thank you! :D
after cleaning mohair/alpaca- I like to use mineral oil -dip fingers in it and run through hair. It makes combing (I don't brush) so much easier. Stubborn little knots can be easily removed with a seam ripper.Mineral oil + water is what farmers spray on the animals before shows/auctions.They separate the curls with their fingers. It cleans and makes the wool shinny. After a wig is made or re-rooting dolls- its good to apply mineral oil now and then to keep the fiber shinny and in good condition.. it no longer has access to the animals natural body oils.(only use mineral oil)
Thank you so much for this video. I just bought a whole kilo of gorgeous caramel colored raw suri-alpaca fiber. I've taken a few hours and started to detangle and sort them. I'm glad I now know how to clean it and make it all pretty. :) Thank you so much!
+darkmoore05 I am glad to hear that this was useful to you :)

This is not only a very valueable video for wig making but also for people who spin yarns. Thank you so much for sharing
I found your video looking for help on how to deal with a box of "processed" (cleaned up but not brushed) alpaca fiber, and your video really helped!! Every step was very clear and easy to understand, and now I'm a lot less worried about the box of gnarly hair waiting for a brush! Thank you!
I am very glad :D
I'm doing this right now. A bag of old alpaca hair I dug out of a closet from when I went to an alpaca farm once years ago is finally being put to use lol. Thanks for inspiring me ☺️
This series is getting me really motivated to make wigs for dolls. Sounds really fun !!
Your inspiring vids have helped me to take the plunge into painting vinyl MH dolls. So thank you for opening up a new creative avenue for me.
I've only gotten to the clipping hair part so far but might I *humbly* suggest you try using nail clippers to finish clipping off old hair plugs? I've found curved clippers tend to hug MH doll heads very nicely. This made clipping very easy for me as I could do one plug at a time, flush with the vinyl.
This would then let the wig settle down more nicely without old hair poking through it.
I love that you are helping use create our own wigs! Thank you very much! This is a step I was afraid to tackle myself but with your direction, I have realized so far, its not that hard!
Hello Nicolle! Your videos are awsome! It's like a new world opened to me, such beautiful and great!
Can't wait to see how you diy (paint) alpaca for hairs.
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I haven't been able to find this information anywhere! Now I can wash and brush my fiber and get to wig-making! I can't wait for the rest of the series!
Love this will try and make some alpaca braids for American Girl dolls, bought their clip on extensions and caught the hair bug. Also bought a new flat iron to smooth out a crinkle left in from unbraiding kaneolin wig desperate move but I would do it again (changed silkiness to fluffier look) Happy I can really use it more enthusiastically to style alpaca doll hair instead. Really nice vid
I would love to see how you make the actual wig. After watching your videos i started to think about doll customizing, so i thought, that this would be very informative. I also adore your videos, keep up your good and amazing work.
Hello and thank you! Can you please show how to make the wig using the wig cap and attaching the alpaca hair? Thank you!
imagine alpacas getting washed and styled like in this vid.. they'd be the softest and fluffiest animals :D thanks for the vid! very helpful ^^
I know it sounds weird but I've been making wigs for my dolls for the past year and I never thought to use a brush to comb out the locks. (Or to straighten them when finished, I've been giving myself such a headache trying to attach fluffy locks!) I've been using a fine tooth comb and it takes forever and I lose a lot of fiber. I'm definitely going to try a brush from now on. Thank you for your videos and can't wait for the next one.
You should totaly customize liv dolls, they are the best dolls ever to be made in the U.S.
please do a liv doll video! it would show soo much art!
I love these back to basics episodes! Really interesting!
I am loving this series!!! So helpful and informative. You have inspired me to have a go at making my own wig so thank you so much for taking the time to share this with us!!!!
So beautiful! And we people think we are the only ones with luscious hair. Lol. Wonderful video.
Makes me giggle when you say water with the Aussie accent! Thanks for sharing, lots of work.
You are so professional. Your editing skills are superb, your art is beautiful, your videos are thorough, and your voice is just so perfect. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!👍👍👍👍
It's not that difficult as i thought. It's just time consuming :)
I ADORE your videos Andreja! I especially love this series! :)
Thanks for watching
thank you so much! I always had trouble with the hair of my dolls, the plastic hair never really interested me so using alpaca fiber was the perfect option! do I didn't know where to buy it, how to well andle it and color it!
if I could, I swear I would give more then 10$ on your pateon... sadly my family is having money struggle so I don't have this luxury :'1 still do, thanks, it helped me alot
I can't wait for the next video! I want a fairly unique fade job for a bjd and it might be worth it to do it myself!

Amazing video! Thanks a lot for your time making it!
Will you ever have a video about how to attach the alpaca to the wig cap?
This is amazing! Great video!
This is great video, I have followed this method each time I have washed alpaca hair and always get lovely results. For some reason the last batch didn't turn out well, no matter how much i wash it, I can not get the ends clean, most of the fibre is a lovely creamy white, but the ends all have brownish tint to them. Have you got any tips or tricks for dealing with this problem?
Could you please do a video on how you make your wigs in real time :)
really enjoyed this, I look forward to trying it out ^^
I love this! I also enjoyed your voice it's so calm kinda reminds me of CutiePieMarzia hehe
Could do a video on how to do basic face makeup? I'm thinking about buying a ABS doll and do makeup myself but I'm not sure where to start?
Great tutorial thanks!
Please can you tell me what kind of brush do you use?
Help! I followed your video, and my Alpaca hair is super frizzy even after the straight iron. What did I do wrong? What temp. should the iron be? Thanks for your AMAZAING, AWESOME videos!
Hi Andreja! what brush would you suggest to use for brushing the alpaca locks? looks like you used two different ones there. I've heard boar bristle is the best. thank you for these wonderful videos xox
thankyou for the tutorial. because I was wondering how to clean raw alpaca hair haha..
It looks amazing hopefully I can order some! 😀
Can you make a video on how to put together the wig? Like how to attach the alpaca hair to the wig cap? Thanks :)
+DryCerealPhil I already did :D you can find 3 complete wig series on my Patreon, otherwise I also have one on my Gumroad gumroad.com/nicollesdreams :)
Wow that is super fabulous video thank you so much for sharing ♥♡♥♡♥♡
Thanks for your exellent video. Can we use sheep fleece instead of alcapa fleece?
+masoumeh kalantar not sure, I've never tried sheep fleece. Try it out, could be a great experiment :)
Thanks alot.
You should be able to but keep an eye out for felting when putting heat on it.
love your videos
great vids, thank you
Will there be any more video's on how to color the hair, and make the wig? And could you please show, where to get the alpaca? on your previous video , the writing on the side, is not really visible.
Great video!
that is amazing I am very please with the video of how you make caps to dye the hair, but do you have a video of how you make a wig. I want to make a wig for my doll but sometime I want to try and clean her hair . do you have a video in how you make your own wigs. please and thank you ^^
Thank you so very much Andreja
Is it the same when it was already styled? I also read on the internet that the water needs to be cold.
Your amazing! 😄
I love this thank you!
Kinda can't wait for the dying process :)
Just ordered a bundle of raw fibre, thank you for your great tutorial!
Can I use any wool wash I find in the supermarket?
If I make a short style, boyish wig, is it ok to cut the fibre before gluing it to the wig cap?
Can you make a tutorial on how to attach the hair to the wig cap...
I'm from Turkey and i can't take them.I'm so sad cause your videos are amazing and so so quick.I want do this we have alpaca but others...😧
i guess it like yarn weft making but harder i guess
Hi great video i was wondering what temp does the hair straightener have to be at in order to not burn the alpaca hair ?
Not sure, mine only has one option and does not specify the temperature. I suggest trying out the lowest setting and then keep increasing as you see fit
Your voice is so lovely :'D
Thank you very much
Thank you for this wonderful wig series! How many ounces do you use for a Minifee wig?
So cool
THAT IZ AMAZING O.o!!!!
trying to find a video showing how to make and apply the wig, is one coming or? Thanks x
so is the last step optional?cuz sometimes fluffy and frizzy is cute
Can i ask you, how many oz. i need for msd wig? :) im beginner and i really dont know how much i have to buy >w
oh yea?? thank u so much!
I have some question. cleaning alpaka, just worm water? not into the other things?
Can you use something else to straighten the locks? (I don't have a hair straightener)
Thanks a lot!
thanks for the great vid
fabulous
wow!
It is ok if you don't reply to this, but when do you think the wig making video will be posted? I have been Looking forward to it since i watched this. I know you are in Japan, so you might not have time to check this. But i really love your videos, you are very inspiring! I want to get into bjd's when i have more money. Hope you keep posting, i love you channel!❤️😘
Can we just clean the hair and that's it because I want my doll to have a slight bit of dreads so I was wondering if this is okay?
If you are using raw fiber, you can wash and clean it and then felt it into dreads. The felting process is easy to find online tutorials for and would give you the look you are after.
where do you get the hair from and also can you the hair out of something like more locative plz
