Mary Pickford 1892, - May 29, 1979, she became known as america's sweetheart of the silent screen (1920's & on) .....Louis Burt Mayer was a Canadian and a co-founder of *Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios (MGM) in 1924*. Under the management Mayer.
Many of us grow up knowing them so have always known they were Canadian, not Australian, Brits, American, etc. With Australians and Brits it's easier due to the accent. A good half of Americans have very strong accents (US South, Jersey, Midwest, Boston, Minnesota, NYC) so you can tell right away that they're not Canadians. Other Americans sound just like Canadians so it's much harder to tell.
