Obviously missing Alaska and Hawaii. Other missing states (all in the north eastern part): Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont I think that's it, but the rest are there. Interesting that they "greyed out" parts of the map where the mountain ranges are, which is typically not shown like that on US states maps.
probably to give the players landing troops there a strategic advantage, as they cannot be attacked across the mountain range. otherwise, literally any state not on the border would have neighbouring states from all directions. same reason why there are only 3 crossings over the big river running north to south. those points would be fortified while states like iowa could rest easily as it cannot be attacked from the east.
Honestly the US map for this version of the game is ass. Lousiana gives a bonus(?) and the grey areas don't need to be there, plus a lot of the states not existing on the map for some reason. They kind of do it with all the countries with this game though so whatever. Still fun though mechanically.
@@the_enderslayer if new england was divided into the states, that part of the game map would be overly complicated. and the grey areas are there to give the players more strategic options. it's all for gameplay.
So for those who may find this interesting: Based off the way the map is at the start, and using the electoral college for a voting system, none of the three parties would meet the 270 electoral limit to win. Red=178, Blue=155, Green(3rd Party)=198. Neither Hawaii or Alaska would help. This means the House chooses the president and the Senate chooses the Vice President. Now, based off of the halfway point in the video (8min mark) none of the three parties would meet the 270 electoral limit to win. Red=56, Blue=238, Green=237. Once again, the House chooses the president and the senate chooses the vice president. Neither Alaska or Hawaii would help. Now, based off of when Smiffy goes out, Blue=35, Green=503. Third party would win for the first time in US History. Alaska and Hawaii wouldn't help blue at all. Nice bonus to green.
not sure why they would have it called North new England. just call it Maine. doesn't make sense. Just put all the states in there. couldn't be too hard.
Most Americans get this wrong too, but you are pronouncing "Appalachian" wrong. Appalachia is pronounced App-uh-latch-uh, and Appalachian is accordingly pronounced App-uh-latch-in. The pronunciation that sounds the same as "appellation" is an exonym, and not how people from the area actually pronounce it.
This game really needs a combat width system so you can't just attack 1 unit with 40. Max number of troops who can fight in a battle and max number occupying a single area and so on.
Ross' rambling commentary is what makes this series so good
And that is literally it. Would rather they play a more interesting game where they have more to comment on other than mobile games and board games.
Since it was asked, the Green Party in the US is called "The Green Party."
I bet the way ross commentates These RISK videos is actually how he plays every game, he just usually thinks it instead of saying it
I really hope so.
He does play a lot of FIFA
Only thing at RISK here is me knob violently ascending into orbit! LOVE YOU BOIKS!!
Obviously missing Alaska and Hawaii.

deg1studios yeah I figured it had to do with the gameplay! Thanks for pointing that out
New englanders are always getting tossed aside

For the first few minutes I thought they might have finally learnt how to play Risk but it quickly became clear that they still have no clue.
Im happy this game accurately showed america and the various voids we have
After all this time ross still never defends.
Ross the announcer. I love it! I'd love to hear Ross be a color commentator for UFC fights.
As a North New Englander, I approve this video. Maine is so 1820.
Been loving these Risk ones. My favourite part is when the dice absolutely fuck you.
Loved Smith’s expanse reference
Take over Wyoming and create the great state of Long Nebraska!
MSlick100 the greatest of the long boi states
Ross' commentary makes the whole video work.
trotts snake accent is actually pretty spot on
6:20 Actually the Libertarians in US are usually Yellow and Trott would be representing The Green Party
SDFlick619 Trott represents anarcho-primitivism
Man who supported Trott 10:50 into the game. "YEAH SEA TO SHINING SEA BITCH!"
I absolutely love this series! You guys are soo funny. Could you guys try getting bouphe to join the mayhem?
Even though I guys have no idea how to play at risk it's still a pretty good show 😂😂😂😂
Eh, looks like they've got the contiguous states except the northeastern seaboard. The blank spots are the Appalachian and Rocky Mountains.

Without Ross’s commentary it would mean nothing NOTHINGGGGGGG.
The Idaho pun was perfect, hahaha
What did I miss that started all these Metal Gear quotes? 😂😂
Yayyyyy we have America.
Why is this so addictive😂😂
you dont have to always blitz xD
It pains me how bad they are at this game. loving the series boiks
The Blitz seems like it results in disaster pretty often when used. Is there a benefit to using it instead of rolling?
The greyed out parts of the map are mountain ranges
Oh hey the Boiks predicted the future
Nice to see Trott out here representing the anarcho-primitivists
Why are the mountain ranges holes in the map? I live in an abyss according to this map
The great state of Missouri... here in Iowa we usually say if you give the bottom third of the state to Missouri both states get much smarter.
They just cut smith off at the end with some meta plays 😢
They combined PA NJ DE and MD what kind of messed up territory is that?
Want some Axis and Allies up next, some real damn war with these real damn generals. Almost overqualified imo
The green party in the US is just "The Green Party"
Only smiffy could ask what colour the Green Party is in the USA
never thought I'd here smith say Maine. #thenorthwillriseagain
Also missing: Alaska
My state isn’t even on here, I feel robbed. Rhode Island
Do they have Middle Earth on here?
Jesus what was this? Ross's audition tape to become a commentator?
Play with guests!
4:02 & 5:06 Fallout New Vegas
I love seeing you guys play this BUT! You need to play more defensively. Just wasting away your armies!
wtf is that gash in the not-mid-west-but-mid-west?
my goodness theres 2
why is there a void
Still waiting for Diplomacy.
Can someone explain to me how you make a audio clip? I want the clip of smithy saying, "thats oklahoma you son of a bitch"
Well this is just immersion breaking, no way a third party candidate would win in the US
not sure why they would have it called North new England. just call it Maine. doesn't make sense. Just put all the states in there. couldn't be too hard.
I 100% would have turned the game off when Trott lost 7 to 3 without the other taking damage
PLIZKIN
what the fuck is trott grunting about???

Smith playing as the conservatives.. no surprise there then
The Green Party USA is eco-socialist, not libertarian. The third largest party is the Libertarian Party!
This game really needs a combat width system so you can't just attack 1 unit with 40. Max number of troops who can fight in a battle and max number occupying a single area and so on.
Alberquerqe Eggplant it works much better irl , without blitzing everything
Y'all dunno how to play Risk... And that's okay.
labour are not socialists lmao
less than 1k views after half an hour on a saturday during corana season? boys, please be good again. please.
Hchambers150 maybe if they started playing actual games again...
First
The game switched the colours? Literally unwatchable.
