This army is just one of dwarven doomstacks from Total Warhammer 3 that came out with Thrones of Decay. I almost expect to start hearing the Legend of Total War intro over this.
Definitely agree that the skirmisher rules are wonky. I see the intent but they just don't work smoothly. With the recent coherency clarification they're definitely in an appropriate spot balance wise, but moving each individual model while checking LOS and coherency range is just tedious. In my friendly group we basically eyeball the cover penalties, and agree that skirmishers deployed in a circular blob don't pay much attention to coherency while skirmish deployed in a line to screen do need to pay attention to it.
dwarfs are notorious for abusing the lack of a rule of three. gyrocopters, warmachines, 5 irondrakes with a trollhammer torpedo. but if rule of three was desired (by the writers/desginers) to be included in old world they wouldn't have given doomseekers 0-4 allotment in royal clans. the other stand out abuser of no rule of three seems to be dragon ogre shartaks with many limbs, two hand weapons and heavy armour.
GW's current tournament rule is 0-3 of anything that doesn't have a existing restriction. So doomseekers would still be 0-4, but irondrakes would be 0-3.
I am very very sure you can not use the Drilled Special Rule to change the unit formation and get into an attack position which otherwise would not have been possible. Declaring a Charge is the very first step in the movement phase all requirements like a line of sight and range to charge an enemy unit must be fullfiled at this moment. Changing the ranks or formation comes in Point 4 of the Movement Phase "Remaining Movements" after all Charges and mandatory movements have been made. Drilled as a very useful Special Rule give you only the benefit of a free changing of ranks before the movement but you can not use this before you declare a charge at the beginning of the Phase
I played chaos way back in the 90's in 5th edition. I always struggled against armies with a lot of shooting, I particularly struggled against dwarves. I could never close the distance fast enough and eventually ended up being picked off. My only defense was to use fast moving troops like knights (that were very expensive) and back then you were able to take harpies as a add on/supplement. Things haven't changed obviously.
I'm just seeing the dwarf army and well... It technically speaking is a dwarf army, actually a very competitive army i think but even as a dwarf player i hate it. XD
I already played a very simular Game like you 2. Engineers vs Orcs, i won by quite a margin and never rly was in any danger at all. But my Club Mate came after it to me and said "I will never play a Game vs you if you bring this Bullshit" and i know 100% from where he is coming. 😅
Not sure where you’re reading that the dead Doomseeker gives its controller Victory Points, but I’ve seen other Dwarf players make the same mistake. “At the end of the battle, a Doomseeker that has been slain is worth no Victory Points. However, if a Doomseeker is still alive, the enemy player wins a bonus number of Victory Points equal to 100% of its points cost.” Not that it would have made much of a difference to this battle. But if the controlling player “earned” those victory points for dead doomseekers (and Slayers of Legend with Rune of the Dishonored) you could easily make an army that gains 1k vp after getting tabled, plus whatever they manage to kill.
Engineer's Weapon Runes. Can a Thane take them? Can a King? It is titled thus, but doesn't say it is Engineer only, just that it follows the same rules as other weapon runes. Beardy Harry appears to be a Thane, hence the question ;)
That wound allocation to the Ogres, including the dangerous terrain rolls, is not how it’s in the rules. Is that a deliberate house rule you guys play?
@@MountainMiniatures then I think wounds should have been allocated one ogre at a time (except for the champion) and they should have started losing models earlier
Absolutely disgusting dwarf list. Then again, I don't know who cooked the gyro spam you can do with dwarfs, but it doesn't play well with a classic rank & file army and I guess it's not much fun to play against. Vs. flying circus brets? Wood elf skirmisher spam? Yeah, maybe, but that's just abominations fighting eachother.
"Why are you so happy. I'm upset that you're so happy." That's a quote and a half.

It'd be good to show final points at the ending graphics
I do love when Luca busts out the WoC. Love me some heavy metal. Would be fun to face his khorne with my slaaneshi. A clasic matchup.

I think many limbs can only be taken once. But yeah. I'm guilty of spamming then.....

Somehow I missed where the Thane beardy harry was explained.
Love the content... i learn so much from it and makes me play the game better
Let's see chaos dwarfs vs dwarf expedition force! Thanks guys

Hi, at around 1:11:00, per the errata/faq p.4 , after the chaos ogre overran, I believe you could have tested to reform them after the overrun move
The bit on the gyrocopter base is, actually a bid of the never released dwarf tank :)
Christ almighty, that's A LOT of copters!

I am not sure how I feel about this game. It wasn’t a Rank and Flank game and feels like something is wrong.
Fire&flee vs Frenzy is not exploiting gamę mechanics...
Was on the fence about Old World until I saw the Expeditionary Force, I'm so in
i think you can only have 1 experditionary marksman unit per 1000 point, correct me if i'm wrong
You are right in that one

Those runes, although it says "engineers' ", it only says thay they can be used on handguns and crossbows, not that only engineers can use them

Its not a house rule

Isn't move and shot 1 unit per 1k?
It is.
Better play Aeronautica Imperialis 🤦♂️
bring back unit slots from 6th and 7th edition
So gross... I think I hate it?!
Comment!
