When I first heard about this Coming To Broadway I was So Pumped! Christian Borle is In the Role Of a Lifetime as Willy Wonka since i saw him three times in Something Rotten as Shakespeare (The Bard). Im very Upset it got no Tony Recognition but I Hope the Cast Recording at least gets nominated for a Grammy and also has a Successful Run On Broadway!
I can't wait for the cast recording and when(or if) it comes to Chicago cause my luck seeing it in NY is a slim as finding a golden ticket.

In the 2005 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Violet takes Charlie's Candy Apple when Charlie trys to eat it she never shares.
In 4th grade me and my class did this play for school, it wasn’t half this good but it was very enjoyable, I also played in the lion king play in 3rd grade and went to New York for my birthday and we saw the lion king play, my mom said next time we go to New York we can see this play that time, ❤

I prefer the British in London because they use real children but in the broadway version they used adults and one child to play as the children and they cut out JUICY!!!(T ^ T)

This new version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory looks dazzling. The adults playing most of the juvenile characters are not a big problem for me since I understand child labor laws.
There are so many keen child-actors in the USA who would have loved to have played those roles in the Broadway production of this musical. What a disappointment for them.
Their loss indeed. But if the show goes on tour next year as planned, I'll see this regardless of how many actual kids are on stage.
They replaced the children with adults because the directors felt that the adults were able to deliver more jokes/certain types of jokes better than kids would.

I treasure the London West End version (living in the UK) and only just saw a full pirate version of the Broadway Musical ... and now I understand why they used adults for the children's scenes. The writer had glorified the scenes where they "die" which is terrible. Verucca being cut up into pieces by evil squirrels where as in London the squirrels were cute and she just ended up down the bad nut hole. I hated the Broadway version and watched it to the end just for comparison. The writer who "hacked" his own work for the American audience is very sad. He did a good job though with Mary Poppins Returns - a lot of Charlie (West End) in the music and I give him credit for "entertaining" me.
