im confused. i keep making straight lines in my hair when i twirl
Glide down as you twirl and/or move a little faster. I get lines sometimes too
My curls was doing the same exact thing but as soon as I started twisting the curling iron in the opposite direction I didn’t see anymore lines.

Sounds like a hair quality issue. Does it also stain/melt the curling iron?
I have the same issue, mine is human hair but I think we're clamping on the hair too tightly. I kept doing that and gave up. I don't know how to make it loose.
