    I'm not really sure if any of these people have every actually been to Guatemala but the Mayans didn't disappear. They are still there. When I told them that we thought their empire had collapsed they just laugh at me. They say that they just moved into the Highlands because it was too hot in the lowlands. That's literally in their collective oral history. Have any of these people ever talked to the people who still live in Guatemala and speak ( I know this will sound crazy) Mayan dialects?

      I don't think any historian thinks the Maya ' disappeared ' .. We all know the people as such are still around. This video even ends on that note. But yes , mysteries and dramatic stories sell better . So a lot of books & videos love to act as if the Mayan peoples just ' disappeared in thin air ' .

    The "cities" were ceremonial centers, trading centers and palaces for nobles and clergy. The Maya lived in the outskirts. They supported the nobility, military and clergy until most likely a drought showed them that the prayers and rituals of nobility were useless. My ancestors simply moved to wetter and fertile lands.

    The Mayans suffered the same fate as The Romans, Greeks, Persians, Assyrians, even The Mongols and Aztecs. They were absorbed by their surroundings, people thirsty for conquest and riches. And the occasional natural event that fueled superstition and could move mountains. As all other ancient peoples, they still live among us.

      Nope. That is a simplistic and false summary. Yes, empires fall and crisis arrives in unexpected ways, but the causative factors and history are all very divergent as were the nature of those empires, how they were organised, how they functioned, and who held power.

    The civilizations that flourished independently in what are now called Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, Ecuador, and Chile defy the prejudices of 16th-century colonizers and the scientific racism invented by Europeans centuries after it. If the power and development of a culture is measured by its architecture, the Mayans, Aztecs and Incas should be considered much more powerful and developed peoples than those who existed in Europe before Roman expansion. While European people lived in shacks, the Mayans, Aztecs and Incas built stone cities with magnificent pyramids that are only comparable to those in Egypt. It would not be possible to build these immense works without the development of knowledge of mathematics and techniques to manufacture the tools necessary to prepare materials, logistics to transport them, etc... None of this existed in Europe in the period in which American civilizations flourished.

    I kept thinking during this whole video that it was some how related to weather. Then I thought about its relative latitude to krakatoa and it is believed to have erupted in or about 530 to 550 c.e if this could possibly be the beginning of the end for the Mayan civilization as it would have destabilized weather patterns for many years to come and also affected crop production. Is this a possibility?

    • @John.Flower.Productions
      @John.Flower.Productions Рік тому +2

      The supposed Krakatoa eruption of the 530's has been disproven, not that having a similar latitude would have had any extra impact on the region.
      536 definitely seems to have been a _volcanic winter_ but Krakatoa was not the culprit.

    They possessed knowledge of portals and were acquainted with the outer world, which they occasionally observed on specific days. On these days, creatures from other realms would enter our land through these portals. Their reverence was particularly directed towards a winged serpent that had traversed into our world through these openings. It's noteworthy that many ancient civilizations, now lost to history, shared an awareness of these enigmatic doors or portals. In the Quran, Allah indeed references the pathways and doors of the skies. What do you guys think about Bermuda Triangle and Devils Triangle? Keeps researching

    The history of the indigenous peoples in the Americas is much, much older than a few thousand years. The Hopi people tell that they arrived in the America’s about 30,000 years ago when the continent that they were living on, Lemuria, sank under water. We judge the Maya, Aztecs, Inca’s and others on the traces that we find. But when we dig our way from the present to the past, we must know that the Earth is suffering from a cycle of seven recurring natural disasters. That is told in the Popol Vuh. These disasters create a cycle of civilizations. There are four primitive civilizations, sometimes mentioned a sun or world era. The next civilization lives in the fifth sun. This becomes eventually a high developed civilization. The last one disappeared 20,000 years ago due to a recurring, thus predictable but inescapable disaster that is caused by the ninth planet in our solar system. That planet orbits our sun in an eccentric orbit hence it is only a short period close to our sun and its planets s it crosses the ecliptic planet at a very high speed. This high developed civilizations has built sturdy monuments all over the world and they must have buried knowledge about themselves and the world history deep in the ground. High in the mountains they have built shelters or surviving places for a selected number of people. Like Machu Picchu in Peru. The Navajo people tell us in their sand paintings about that planet and this cycle of civilizations. They also show the direction of the orbit of planet 9, also known as Tonatiuh or Xiuhcoatl or Nibiru in other regions. To learn much more about planet 9, the recurring flood cycle and its timeline, the rebirth of civilizations and ancient high technology, read the e-book: "Planet 9 = Nibiru". This book answers many of your questions about ancient history. It can be read on any computer, tablet or smartphone. Search: planet 9 roest

To have gotten to their stage of advancement they knew how to rotate fields.should have known about succession of some form of government when needed, had to be a climatic catastrophy where people had to migrate out of the area! This is what happens when you have Europeans explaining every other cultures history. The Mayans are still there. They still have Mayan villages and people who speak Mayan language. Why did they abandon living in the hot jungle in stone pyramids with toxic insects and plants??? Uh maybe because living in the city in a house and sleeping in a bed is easier. When I was there by those pyramids it was absolutely miserable. It was unbearably hot, the bugs were eating me alive, there's termite hives as big as canoes, alligators dwell in the most shallow pools of water waiting to pounce on you. A monkey jumped right out in front of me missing my head by inches. The jungle is not for humans, even though I survived. I contracted a skin infection from a freaking tree! I had to take antibiotics for weeks before the legions on my skin went away. So I understand why they moved further inland. It was still hot, but at least there wasn't any wild animals toxic bugs and trees to worry about.

    Huh? I'm confused? So the answer to the big mystery is,....they all just decided one day to abandon all civilization and em mass move to the forest/wood? I wonder if they took thier camping gear of just had to rough it? And? The reason for this mass insanity is cause there gods abandoned them?

      Quetzalcoatl/Kukulkan/Et cetera were representations of the White Bearded Gods that had raised every ancient civilization from their primitive existences and had promised to return.
      Unfortunately for the people of Central/South America, the Spanish/Portuguese arrived before their return.
      That said, White Bearded Gods have returned to every ancient civilization across the entire planet and have elevated them even higher than before. They have even managed to elevate those who had always been considered to be subhuman; though obviously to a much lesser degree than those living in Europe/Asia/Americas.
