My 3 Day Ice Fishing Trip at -20˚

- The story of what's been going on in the last month or so of my hiatus from posting. My arrival back home in early January and the trip I took with my friends Ian and Wily shortly after. Hope you enjoy :)

My wise brother gave me great advice years ago
I felt lost, going from this place to that one.
He said “when you move, your troubles move with you.”
I found a not-so-perfect place and worked on my troubles.
I’m at peace now, just as you will be in no time.

Somehow work it out that these are “those good times”. I was a peace corps volunteer long ago and I totally relate to the emptiness of a relentlessly difficult existence and that feeling in your soul. So glad you have your books and your painting and your friends. Not many people can really relate to what you are going through but I do 100%.
The hard times are the good times. Do not bring them on willingly but when they come embrace them.

Mick you might feel watching you paint is not an exciting video but I can say I would enjoy it and if it helps you to bring in more income just do it! You live in a very beautiful place just go out and take videos we all will love it! We are all rushing around like chickens with our heads cut off so sharing the quiet peaceful existence you live is very therapeutic for us! I love your videos and you are keeping it real. It is so truly hard for all of us these days and for the last 3 years. None of us can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Everything has just tripled in price and still going. You truly know what hard times are as we do as well. Everyone is struggling but I Pray that things get better for you and I can see you pushing on and making it work.

hey Mick good to see you back having some fun with the boys such a nice cabin and area overlooking the lake , OMG your meals looked delicious, I miss ice fishing this brought back some fine memories of ice fishing and spending time in a cabin with friends .What a fantastic adventure this must have been, I find it is always hard to leave . That looks so fun and I wish I could go up there and do that all the time. Unfortunately, I'm too attached to where I am. I'm a Southerner and, for now at least, I belong in the mountains of the American South.
Happy to see you back I know sometimes life sucks but hang in there. But we all complain about we don’t have or what we wish we could have but look around you you have such great friends and you have done things someone you age have dream of. You build a cabin that not many can say you have family you have a roof over your head there are a lot of people out there. They can’t say that. Count your blessings my friend and remember God has your back just leave everything in his hands and watch how good or should I great things will start coming until your next video stay safe stay warm and have faith and may God guide you on your journey 🙏❤️✌🏼

The sled did look like fun, for younger people than I. Thank you for sharing your experiences so that stodgy old people like me can live them through your videos.
If it doesn’t completely coat your blood vessels, the bacon grease can provide much needed calories to stay alive in the frigid weather. The dang stuff will cook almost anything, too. My late grandmother kept a container in her refrigerator just for bacon grease, and didn’t always tell us when she used it for cooking. There’s nothing like it for frying eggs or potatoes, and it’s almost better than butter for frying up a nice steak.

nice video, glad you are back..step by step you have this, first year is hard even if u have all what u need.. before 3 years I was do the same thing, leave from everyday job and town to start new life in Balkan mountains ( Europe ) and that was best journey in my 38 years of life.. I love your videos and you are a brave young man, you can do whatever you want.

Really enjoyed this. Def agree that a 'best of Ian' video would be a hit! Seems like he def has some survival skills to be reckoned with. I had wanted to move to Alaska at one point but watching this, I am realizing I'm not cut out for ~ at least not at this time. Amazing how well prepared y'all were and all the food looked great.
