The guy changed his tech slightly with the hips lower than before in the snatch and cj to cope with his chronic back issues. His movement actually looks sharper than his lifts in past months. I say he’s good for a 165/195 if he’s willing to go past the pain barrier.

He wants to stay undefeated. Good chance he just warms up and then withdrawns at some point in the competition, as he did at Worlds. Rahmat and Rizki are in phenomenal shape and Shi's problem is not only beating them here, but at the Olympics too. That 3rd gold accolade is not in his control, but the undefeated status is.
@@Daniel-ie3vq On paper he's already been defeated because he still weighed in to the competitions he pulled out of, so he technically "competed". I wonder if it's a record he genuinely cares about.

I'm a big fan and cheer for him to win... but he doesnt look in great shape here.
if hes anywhere close to his best self, he will go. Li Dayin cannot beat Karlos, but Shi can beat Rahmat. He will be +5-8 kg in snatch, but -5kg in CJ, so overall he would still win.

That is not the issue , he needs to beat him with some room to spare to get selected for the Olympics only 3 places .Anything they are sending is 90% chance for gold .. that what give me pause.

My man, Rahmat just made 160 extremely easily earlier today and he was gonna double it if his father didn't stop him. There's no world in which Shi beats him.
Dayin has like a 50/50 chance of beating Karlos if he’s in shape. He’ll lose out on the C&J but can make up the ground in the snatch.
Even Shi in tip top form can’t touch Rahmat right now. His numbers are insane in the C&J and the snatch differential has definitely been made up.
China sends Fabin because he’s an easy gold since Hampton is so far behind in the snatch. Huanhua rolls to gold pretty easily as well.
Dayin probably gets the nod.
