I don't blame the bank for denying her claim. She willingly gave her phone to the thief. She should have known that this could happen. It would be the same as handing over her wallet and trusting the thief to take only $5. Why would the bank be expected to take the hit for her stupidity?

Allowing more time for cancellation, and all of that kind of stuff is not going to solve the problem it’s going to create more victims. You’re going to get the reverse effect of people doing work or making an agreement for a fund transfer, which then after leaving from the person, they will go and cancel, claiming it to be fraud or mistake the person who got paid from them who performed the work or executed their portion of the contract is not going to get paid and it’s going to have to fight to get the money back after it has been canceled or refunded. This is stupid. People just need to be more safe and there needs to be verification codes to confirm what it is that you are trying to do and people just need to be more vigilant with their own personal information.
