    Santa Fe got those first "2400 horsepower turbocharged diesel locomotives", EMD SD-24 models, in July, 1958, so that pretty well dates the movie as not being any earlier and probably not more than six months later.

    #PeriscopeFilm I think you're off a bit on the age of this film. The built dates on the boxcars are all 1957. I'd say the film was produced sometime between 1958 and 1960. The industrial music soundtrack is fairly generic for the very late 1950's. In fact the last few minutes of the film is scored with the same music used in 'Last of the Giants', produced by the Union Pacific Railroad in 1959.

      The "Shock Control" boxcars at 6:50 are class BX-78s, built in March 1959.
