  • In this video we’re going to talk about how to expand our chest voice so we can sing higher and lower notes with more power and without flipping immediately into your head voice!
This is one of the most requested topics for our aspiring Superior Singers. And for great reason too, because if you can master this aspect, you’ll reach new heights in your singing.
We’ll first cover, why we call it the chest voice range and how so many people can unfortunately cause damage in their vocals by having the wrong vocal placement.
We’ll talk about what those mistakes are so we can avoid them as well as how to properly begin improving your chest voice.
There’s a TON of great content in this video so watch as Rachel covers in depth the importance of having your chest voice placed in the right area of your voice….ultimately this means you can begin to expand your vocal range and give you much more power in your singing both up and down your range.
This is how we can get that amazingly full and rich vocal tone and higher range that singers want.
While there’s a handful of technical aspects going into having proper chest voice, you’ll notice if doing this correctly, your throat will relax and your range will not only expand up but also down your vocal range as well.
Have a watch until the end and give these vocal exercises with Rachel a try so you can begin to experience how to correctly sing from your chest voice.
Have a watch all the way through and let us know what you think! Did this help? Did anything click for you?! Drop a COMMENT and let us know how you’re doing!

You don’t know how much this video helped me. I’m in a choir right now and it stresses me out how I just can’t seem to project my voice even though I can feel the vibrations in my chest. I thought what I was doing was right when all this time I was singing through my throat which was actually damaging! From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much 🥹

People think of chest & head as separate voices or placements & it's all 1 voice... it's all taking place in the face!
i see soooo many teachers here on youtube not properly express this or even at all & THIS IS the ultimate technique !!!
People say don't sing with the nose or confuse that for singing nasal but singing into the nose prevents nasality.
I actually think it's equally as important to have a nose as it is a mouth..
You can sing without having to force your mouth open much & so many coaches & professionals on here are serioiusly teaching the wrongggg thing. Madelaine Harvey is a great voice teacher & she teaches how to sing properly same with Tina's Vocal Studio.!

In classical training I'm opening up the back (without pressing the larynx down) and running things up the nasopharynx.

Well now! I was able to go two notes lower than you that time! The relaxation part is brilliant- will work on that. I find hitting really low notes harder after having some higher ones (a song with a wide range between verse/chorus for example) - will work on the relaxation at both ends of the spectrum.

I'm confused. Most mezzo soprano arias end up higher than that G5 and the soprano arias can go an octave higher than that. This is not a high note.
