I have sweet potatoes on the counter that are sprouting that I bought right before Thanksgiving. Seems early for starting slips, they really like hot temperatures as long as they have enough water. I cover my sweet potatoes when growing slips, but some people do not.
Yes I put them in my house with a heating pad and a humidity dome so hopefully I can give them a boost. I can plant them out in the grow bags and greenhouse in early April, so I am still trying to figure out the timing. I totally could be too early, but I don't know how old these are since I just bought them from the market so I wanted to make sure I could give them the best shot!
Oh dear ya'll that white one is actually a Japanese Purple, the Purple skinned one is the Japanese white, and the Red one is actually Red. I'll link to the taste test when its posted and when I found out that I didn't know what I was growing. LOL
