This should have a part 2. I never knew the Liga MX can be so interesting, and I really wanted to know how the Brexit and Band 3 thing now works for the players.
Not that I care much about Liga MX but I feel that 7 mins is not nearly enough time. Give Alex at least 10 mins if he's going to talk about a league! It's also great you're talking about leagues outside Europe. There's a lot of interesting leagues in South America that produce good players and are a lot of fun to watch or keep track of!
had the same thought as the video was coming to an end, 3 more min would of brought more of spotlight to liga mx. chance wasted but oh well still fun to watch
The only way you could improve this is by blindfolding Joe and making him wear AirPods, giving him a catapult and ball bearings, spinning him around until he’s dizzy and giving him 7 minutes to hunt and find Alex as he hides somewhere trying to convince Joe of the merits of Cowdenbeath FC over Bluetooth.
Cool to see my country getting attention, I don’t watch liga MX as much as I used to as I don’t really have a way to watch it, but if any of you are thinking of watching it I’m here to represent Cruz Azul, we aren’t the biggest team but we are competitive and we have a lot of heart.
@@maxbarajas7825 Yeah that’s what I meant when I said “not the biggest but still competitive” keyword being competitive. It’s not like our big status means we win a lot, we barely win that many major trophies so we are definitely not the biggest but still good. Sorry if I was unclear before.
8:01 Alex looks so devastated LOL... I Hope Alex bring this topic to Tifo Football... heck I want Alex to do the Tifo Football, I think Alex voice sounds ASMR to me.
This needs a redo, really interesting video concept and for an informative channel, cutting of mid info is really weird. Can we just have Alex talking about it pls on the main channel or over like a book reading next to the fire place?
Ya gotta give Alex more than 7 minutes lol. I love Joe interrupting and throwing a wrench in Alex’s points, but doing that with only 7 minutes makes it a little tight. I think 10 minutes was much better
I started watching Liga MX two years ago and have to say that it is so much fun. Even games with the lowest team on the table like Tijuana-Monterrey was one of the best games I’ve watched this year. I love how attacking this league is (apart from Cruz azul games). Would highly recommend people watch like an America-Monterrey to get a taste of it
BS alert, the Liga MX is only fun if you have insomnia and need to sleep Also, no relegation or promotions, and even the 12th place can become the champion every 6 months, try watching the games, really, they're mostly awful.
More like; "why should any of us care about this series? " am I right!? Jk, I absolutely love the dynamic and symphatize with Joe as his jokes always fall flat.
I'm quite interested in Liga MX now, how does the relegation work with the two halves system? how does someone in the UK get access to it? Is the skeleton still in Joe's backyard? More on the players that could be coming through would be cool. Why is it rated so low in bands? Although you said band 3 isn't low, but it feels like if Liga MX is in band 3 shouldn't the Concaf champions league be rated higher than 3? So many question.
There's no relegation at the moment because the 2nd tier is closed off for now but it's not really all that much different from normal relegation/promotion, it's just split into two halves. There's a bunch of different platforms everywhere but you essentially need a VPN to spoof a Mexican location to ensure you can watch everything, it's definitely a lot more difficult to watch from the UK than US but more than possible The band system is literally just for how the UK allows work permits, it has no actual meaning to any other league or club, and the CONCACAF Champions League is generally a pretty uncompetitive competition because of the lack of quality football infrastructure in North America leading to it basically just being dominated by Mexican teams. In the past 20 years only 2 non-Mexican teams have won it, those being Saprissa & Alajuelense, who are themselves basically the Liverpool & United of their leagues. They won in 04 + 05, but outside of the occassional MLS team the CONCACAF CL is essentially just another domestic Mexican cup
as a mexican, it was kind of awkward to listen many things that were wrong about Liga Mx (like the thing about the two champions of every year and when Alex stated that américa and guadalajara were the only teams that had never been relegated), but i’ll go along with it because i can’t believe you are talking about this beautiful and crazy league
As much as I love Joe's irreverence, I want to pile on the "Alex deserves a part 2!" camp. Always interesting to see a foreign perspective of our league. Also, there's a lot of money and power around the relegation system and it's generally horrible, but this was an interesting outlook on the current "closed league" status. Give us part 2!!
Nearly downvoted because of Joe's timewasting and terrible jokes, really wanted to hear the rest of Alex's pitch! (But if it was easy, this series wouldn't be such awesome fun!) So here's my idea for a "red card" sequel - JOE has to to spend a few minutes displaying each team's shirt, telling us an interesting factoid or two about each team. And of course he is required to look totally enthusiastic throughout....
I’m an American who loves liga mx and I would love for u guys to do more content on them Bc it’s a very interesting league with a lot of history and passion even many connections to English football historically through Club Pachuca
Pretty sure you were right by name dropping the NFL. The NBA is much more popular outside the US than inside the States. I remember that last year's opening game of that NFL season, easily beat the ratings of the final game (6) of the NBA finals the summer before.
@@fighterck6241 you are right, although I would say the NBA (82) and MLB (used to be 164) just have an absurd amount of games. The 17 game weeks in the NFL are really comparable to a World Football pace, just shortened until February.
Chivas and Guadalajara are actually the same team. Chivas being the team's nickname, meaning 'goats' in Spanish. I was appalled that you didn't even mention Club Puebla, which is my local team and the most followed Mexican football club in South America (for some reason).
What made me care about Liga MX: randomly deciding to play an Ascenso MX team in Football Manager. I went from "hmm, odd structure for the seasons" and "wait, what do you mean I can't get promoted for five years?" to a burning desire to win everything once I did go up, which of course lead to my deep-seated hatred for Club America.

Very good video. I think Liga MX is important as it is a good platform for mexicos best young players to show their potential, examples including Raul Jimenez, Javier Hernandez, Carlos Vela, Carlos Salcido and Giovani Dos Santos

What I'll say is ironic but I love Alex's enthusiasm here. Alex says Liga MX having a closed league is for youth development (the league does say that), but corruption, TV deals and "friends in power" are the real reasons behind it, sadly. Alex talks about it as a progressive measure and, while it isn't IMO, it's nice because of how much negativity there is anyways towards it in the mexican football world, justifiably so. In other words, while everyone in Mexico talks trash about our own league, listening to Alex talk about it in a positive way is nice and refreshing. Great video!
Chivas(I will mostly mispronounce guadalara) their owner used to own chivas usa in mls. One more interesting part about the team is they are basically a Mexican athletic club of Spain, they only sign Mexican players

I'm Mexican-American and my family and I have always watched Liga MX. The league, however, and Mexican football doesn't really get the global respect it deserves imo and hopefully this video gives it more exposure.
