  • Dean Guitars unveils the new DIme Amp. Using Dime's original Dine-o-flame guitar, Grady Champion, Dime's lifelong guitar tech puts the Dime Amp to the test and it sounds great!! This Amp comes out Summer 2009 and it is priced very affordably for all the rockers out there.

    • @albinomma
      @albinomma 3 роки тому +2

      It's actually the way he held his pick and how hard he hit the strings. Fingers on the fretboard don't make that much of a difference.

      @@HenritheHorse applying bend to strings, sure, but whether you're holding your chord hard or loose doesn't really do anything. Dime's sound was his attack with the pick and littlethings like upstrokes together a heavier crunch on some power chords(example: Cowboys from hell verses)

      @@albinomma I know I have that hard picking hand too, but pushing the strings too hard or soft can make the notes out of tune.

    The reason the tone doesn't sound good is because the audio your hearing is coming through that handheld mic like 2-3 feet away from the speaker cab... which is not a good representation.

    there was only one darrell abbott and you can buy every f***ing amp, effect, guitar, and you will never be him. it's cool to try different equipment,emulate your hero's and experiment by all means,but for christ sakes be original and practice 8-10 hrs. a day for 5-10 years and be the 1st you! so much about playing guitar is missed and if your a young shredder remember,play with balls,be yourself,practice shit you don't want to practice even if it's harder than shit.and work on picking style and picking attack. remember,music is business and thats o.k. but don't belive anything you hear and only half of what you see.

    just wanna let all the snobs know; Dime stuck with solid states his whole career 'till he switched to krank in his later life. Also, the sound in solid states amp has vastly improved over the years. Give it a chance at your local retailer. And if it sucks, then by your logic, so did Dime's sound throughout the 90s.

    I don't think it was anywhere near Dime's tone.I actually thought it was kind of weak and shitty. Unless they've found a way to replicate his go to Randall RH100's and the rack equipment he had in front of it. And they're playing thru a guitar with Bill Lawrence pickups installed upside down (IIRC) then no you will not be getting his tone out of this amp.
    And as with any guitar player a lot of their tone really comes down to their hands and how they play. That's why when Dime picked up a guitar he sounded like Dime, Van Halen sounds like Van Halen, George Lynch sounds like George Lynch, Marty Friedman sounds like Marty Friedman etc etc.

    • @Diggerdog2nd
      @Diggerdog2nd 8 років тому +8

      Sure that's your opinion & you know what they say about opinions but when its the guy that designed the Randalls & his buddy who was there the entire time & probably saw Dime play more then any human besides Vinny I think i'll take there word for it. Besides like Eddie VH always say's the tone is mostly in your hands. There's the difference your hearing. Dimes not playing it here. But you know that.

    At 13yrs old with my attic camp replica Dime series with the bolt on maple neck lol this guy I got 4 lessons from told me you don’t need the, ‘DIME wah pedal’ to sound like Dime’s, you just need the wah pedal he used.
    That repainting a Dunlop pedal in camp and putting Dime’s name on it was just a way to charge more money..
    I agreed with that but the fact that they had Grady work on this thing really give me the confidence to snag one

    With that list, keep in mind that the RG100HT was IDENTICAL to the RG80ES/RG100, just that it was rackmounted.
    The Century 200 had a different voicing and a built in "gate" then the RG-series, but still sounded pretty similar(More aggressive though.).
    So essentially, NOTHING happened in his rig until reinventing the steel.

    The rig he used on New Found Power was a Randall Titan for distortion, and a Randall Warhead for cleans.
    On the tour he used a combination of the Titan, Warhead X2 and the all tube RM100.
    The Titan for rythm, Warhead for leads and the RM100 for cleans.

      Mohd Mulysa kinda. Its like boss harmonist pitch shift, plus has delay and flanger. Controlled by footswitch( dimebag never used) or by hand from his guitar tech which is the guy in this video. Go watch Pantera's home videos during their tours, you see his tech fiddling with this rack unit on stage while Dimebag is playing. These mxr flanger/delay doubler rack units are very rare hard to find. If you to recreate it on the cheap, you have buy three-four seperate pedals ( Delay, Flanger and Harmonist/Pitchshifter).

    MY facts are right, yes.. you dont know shit.
    The Randall Warhead was released in 2000, Vulgar Display Of Power was recorded in 1992.
    Take it from one who has owned just about every single Randall out there, and actually owns Metal Magic, Projects In The Jungle, I Am The Night and Power Metal on vinyl.. trust me, im a bigger Pantera enthusiast then most people out there.
    Diamond Darrell used Marshall JCM800's pre-84 btw.

    @RandomHero12 No it wont. You can wait for cows to fly and chicken to swim but they will never do so. Dime is a big river of money so dont think so.
