Grady has been a constant member of this band!! We’ve all grown up together & I’d be lost without his love & companionship!! Take that from a very grateful Man these days…
Grady is a true Artist Professional. He worked seamlessly along with Dime . In the control of effects. Keeping equipment up and on hand....Dime Did a Lot of the work on his own Guitars. And amp development with Randall...ECT... but, Grady was literally like Dimes other right hand.
Yes you mean the tone it's in the person's blood and that's what makes for a signature sound there are a hand full of people on UA-cam and Facebook that can damn noer imatete Dimes tone damn near perfect . Some people spend their whole life chasing tone. But what I figured out yes you can imatete his sound but you will never get his tone I chased his for a good 3 years but decided to just play guitar and switched to bass to. So it can be a complicated thing ..
I just realized that was at COTA! I've done several motorsports events there but never been at the amphitheater. VERY COOL. Also, Foo Fighters got introduced to Yayo Sanchez (Kiss Guy) there, also very cool. The place is developing a reputation for cool things happening there. :)
Wow! This is really awesome! Thanx for filming it and showing it. I forever wondered what pedals Dime was using back then that made the guitar sound with so many textures and tones at different parts of the song. I never could tell. Obvously I was always looking at Dime not knowing the magic was happening on the side of the stage. Now I have a good idea how they did it thanks to you.
I remember back in the day many people where dogging dime because he used Grady so much. I never really understood why. Ges clearly doing a ton of stuff that takes yet another person. It doesn't take away from the guitar player.
The Dragon at work again ... and he said 4 yrs ago w he was retiring when his family moved into the new house . Lol I was friends on Facebook with him . Grady you can't get it out of your Blood it's something 6ou love and are damn good at it to.
Someday I'll be so rich I got a guy to work my Whammy pedal for me; then I'll know I've really made it. It's cool that you got to chill in the wings, even though it's normal for them I always felt super privileged to get to watch any show close up from sweet angles the crowd doesn't get.
This is awesome, and I imagine much more common before the days of running shows to clicks and using laptops/DAWs for automation (and digital gear). I'm not against that, but there's something much cooler about this way!
Did Grady used to do all that while also simultaneously managing all of Dime's guitars? Absolutely insane if so. Must have some hidden extra arms somewhere.
It's a talent for Shure multi tasking like. A bitch I teched got a cover band KISS Alive here in Phoenix started with the Paul Stanley and ended up teaching for the bass player and hitting all the cues for when he spit fire and not letting him slip on the stage in the lamp oil and hitting the multi effects when it need to be used in spacific songs. Oh yeah you can go frickin crazy .. I also had to wire up the lea Paul for the other guitar player so it would smoke . Doing the sound board and the other stuff goes through your mind at night if you screw up you play it back and try to figure out what you could have done.
I just thought of something, my Dood Grady would have straight up punched me if I was there, I woulda been like, What's that? What are you doing there? Can I hit the pedal next time? then BAM! he'd be like beat it you potato, I'm working! Hahahaha
I finally went to Arlington TX on my second trip thee Texas . Had my dime o flame in the suv walked up to the fence and just stood there and cried man I seen Vinny with Hell yeah a ye before he past and seen Chad in the QT in San tan valley running to the bathroom it was him red hair and all know body out there dressed or looks like him . All country hicks lol but I never seen Pantera live I was at the skid row concert in Mesa ampathier and when the next band came on it was loud and obnoxious not did I know it was Pantera . 8 did get 8ntonthem until 2016 or so .
@@Thrashpotato well my brother screwed me big time I got 18k out of what should have been 33k each of us but he disregard'd moms last will witch i havent seen . But I lived with her my whole life. And we talk. I am homeless and in a shelter in the zone in Phoenix. Totaled the SUV in michagan trashed both of my guitars. But trying to get back to normality with getting my SSI back.
Badass! Remember when people didn't have cell phones and actually enjoyed the concert?! Not complaining about you, but everyone in the audience with their phone out.
You are the absolute coolest! I'm so impressed by your skills and how you're your own person and don't feel the need to act a certain just because you listen to Heavy Metal and kick ass on the guitar. I wish there were more people like you in the hard rock and heavy metal scene back when I was growing up. I don't like all the macho bravado that most people have in the metal scene. It doesn't totally other me. I wouldn't be able to listen to metal otherwise. It just, when the music is off, so goes the aggressive additude. In fact, kids used to beat me up back in the 80's because they thought I was gay. I just don't feel like I should be confined to society's definition of masculinity. It was few and far between, finding people to jam with who could just be chill when the music is over and not be concerned about my about my sexuality. Just because I'm not trying to bang every female I meet and I can actually just be friends with them. Anyways all this is just to say that you are so cool. You probably don't even understand that your coolness level is like busting through the atmosphere. Just keep being true to yourself. You're an amazingly talented and unique person. I'm glad I know you. Thank you for being you! 🤘💀🤘🎸🔥
Kayla, you would be WAYYYYYY better doing Dime's leads, than Zakk, who isn't even making an ATTEMPT to play the solos as recorded by the master. Rhythm wise, they do sound great, though. Must have been awesome to be with Grady back there.
I don't know if I could ever see Pantera live now-a-days, i get Rex and Phil are back but with out Dimebag and Vinnie I wouldn't do it. I am salty that if Phil came around sooner Dimebag would still be alive and I think Vinnie would be too
He’s dimes original guitar tec who did all of the work backstage his whole career just like any other headliner does….. it’s practical. but mmmk have fun looking like a dunce on stage, stepping on pedals the whole show 🤷♂️

i heard he even had to fill in for bobby a couple times last tour!

Grady is Pantera's 5th member hands down.
Grady was always the 5th member of the band. Happy to see him back in action killin it still!!!!
When this tour comes to an end . Take a rest. and he should get back to playing and start a new band . The mighty Dragons
I thought terry date was the 5th member 😂
It's like watching a wizard at work. Thanks for posting this.
So cool. I noticed Randy standing beside Grady too!!
I thought that was Randy!
Ofcourse he’s a fan
Grady was such an integral part of the complete Dime sound! Thank you GRADY!! \m/
They say sound is in the fingers, not the instrument, but it's not only the musician's fingers, it's the sound folks fingers too. Very impressive.

He's done it so often it's probably second nature but I couldn't keep that level of concentration with so much going on tbh. Amazing!
What a treat! Thanks for sharing Ms. Kayla!
Best seats in the house! Happy for you!!

Freakin awesome!!! Grady's a full member of the band for sure 🤘
Essential 5th member!!
That was super rad. Thanks for sharing!
Grady Champion is The Guitar tech.
The back office grind. So cool.
Nobody better for the job than Zakk. He adds his Zakk flavors. And Dime is laughing and doing shots and headbanging to his friend jamming the songs. 🤌
Damn straight ! Can’t wait to see them in Sydney, Australia next month ! Getchya pull 🤟🏻
So tight, the man is in control
He's doing more for music than any DJ. If he were a DJ, I'd say he's playing the guitar.
I remember back in the day many people where dogging dime because he used Grady so much. I never really understood why. Ges clearly doing a ton of stuff that takes yet another person. It doesn't take away from the guitar player.
That Grady, what a Champion

lol, muting the sound manually? How many people does it take to play one Pantera guitar riff?
Someday I'll be so rich I got a guy to work my Whammy pedal for me; then I'll know I've really made it.

Been awhile. PanterA called out of Aftershock! But they’ll be there next year.
You should do a video on how you change your strings.
that would b a good video to put myself to sleep watching
I just thought of something, my Dood Grady would have straight up punched me if I was there, I woulda been like, What's that? What are you doing there? Can I hit the pedal next time? then BAM! he'd be like beat it you potato, I'm working! Hahahaha

Anyone know what the black rack piece is that Grady was turning knobs on?
Rocktron Silencer
@@efa666 Nice, thank you!
Charlie is Cuh-RUSHING this.

It irritates the ever living shit out of me that he replaces Dime’s lead parts with his own. Some fucking disrespectful ego shit right there.
peak jockin

That's pretty damn lame that he has someone else using the pedals backstage
He’s dimes original guitar tec who did all of the work backstage his whole career just like any other headliner does….. it’s practical. but mmmk have fun looking like a dunce on stage, stepping on pedals the whole show 🤷♂️
Zakk ain’t no Dime that’s for sure… he’s trying tho! 😂
what got you into Pantera/Dime and what was the first song you ever heard from them?
Zakk SHOULD NOT BE THE GUITARIST of PANTERA. NOT EVEN CLOSE
Well, the actual one is kinda......not able to.
