We apologize in advance for video and audio issues as these videos are recorded live in a meeting area that has less than ideal lighting and acoustics.

John Heisz has some videos on ceiling mounted sound dampening. His audio is excellent. Was looking forward to learning something but couldn't make out anything.

Sadly indecipherable most of the time. Wish there was closed captioning for this. You should partner up with a videography club, they'd have shotgun mics, lavs, and unidirectional headset mics. ;) Thanks for the video though, it is damn hard to get good audio in a space like that next to a running machine.

What an excellent demonstrator Guilio is, I just hope that he has other videos on here.

Obviously a VERY talented and experienced turning artist, but I, like others, found the audio and the turners accent almost impossible to understand. :>( Luckily, Guilio took enough time and demonstrated his techniques well enough that I understood 'most' of the steps he performed... Still, I appreciated his and the RMW's time and efforts to share this wonderful video! Thanks and safe turning to all!

Just a helpful tip. When the audio is this bad, then mute it and do a voice over. Use captions if you have to.

Appreciate the helpful suggestions. Unfortunately we usually don't have access to the demonstrator to re-narrate. In this case he is from Australia.

@@rmwoodturners, honestly, it would not even have to be him. Pick someone with a low sexy voice. Lol

Such an excellent video, it's really too bad about the poor sound quality. Wish there was a way it could be cleaned up. Starts out so clean in the introduction and then goes down hill from there. Has to be a reason. Possibly the reason is that Guilio had a poor mike. The fella giving the introduction is clear as a bell. When Guilio starts in the poor sound starts. Bad Mike connection.

Can't understand a word he say's. Echo drowns it all out, very unfortunate. Nice work and an awesome artist.

It's unfortunate to pair such talented instruction with poor audio. I would love to watch all of this but can't understand what is being said. Had the same problem with Mr. Batty.

Great demonstration. I could understand almost everything he said; however, the video technology personal talking in the background is very distracting. So.. Thumbs up on the demo and thumbs down on the audio.

Unfortunately whoever the videographer is he thought his comments must be more important than the actual demonstrators, as his mic was working great, while the instructors didn't at all. It's very hard to understand the instructor with that echo. And why does the videographer need a mic anyway. This club's videos all seem to have this problem. The instructor is great and knows his stuff.

Why post what can't be heard/understood? Excellent turning though.

What kind of wood is it?

Not sure. I was at the demo and it appeared to to be some type of rosewood. Took a very high polish quickly.

He indicated that he picks a even, straight grain with even color. Typically ash and maple.

I hope that you've gotten your camera operator some training. Zoom, unzoom, no focus skills, not staying on the primary topic. Very hard to watch no matter the content.
