The husband must give notice of divorce to the Union Council.
The husband must make a pronouncement of divorce in front of witnesses.
The wife must be given a notice of divorce.
The husband must wait for a period of 90 days before the divorce can be finalized.
What are the new laws for divorce in Pakistan?
the wife may be delegated the right to divorce by the husband through their nikkah-nama (marriage contract),
known as talaq-i-tafweez and can then pronounce divorce on her husband;
(iii) the wife may file for khula (request for divorce) before a court of law to seek
a judicial pronouncement of divorce upon her
Here are some of the general rights that a wife has after divorce in Pakistan
Mehr or dower: If the wife has not received the mehr or dower at the time of marriage,
she is entitled to receive it after divorce.
The amount of mehr is agreed upon at the time of marriage and is a form of financial security for the wife
