I'd love to see a modpack that uses this as a base, but puts dungeons every 100 blocks or so up that you have to clear to get fireworks so you can climb even higher with greater challenges as you go. Bonus points if certain elevations "unlock" certain additional mods like a lot of pseudo-kitchen sink packs do
What I would like to see is some sort of hybrid between these extreme world generators. Your realistic gens like Big Globe are great for spanning great distances, however the continuous smooth slopes are not the best for building, and it can be hard to find interesting land features that are small enough to build a cozy base around. Within it, it would be great to have frequent pockets of Vanilla-ish generation, with lots of flat-ish plateaus that are great for building, as well as interesting mountain shapes. But being able to occasionally encounter a region with something extreme like this. That that would put the extreme-ness of it to scale with the rest of the world, and create a great landmark for all to see. The same goes with caves, having the rare mega cave with an unusual biome and structure would be amazing. Alex's caves did this well, although maybe they were a little to rare to encounter naturally.
i feel like you'd need a way to track someone's Y-level too, because manhunts usually use a compass which only goes horizontally, which works fine in minecraft's normal 320 block world, but in a 2000-block one? well... it'd be way easier for the runner to escape
Honestly, this whole generation mod would be interesting to have in a biome all to itself, where the Electra would generally be needed or else you're gonna have to expend a lot of of resources to make bridges and ladders and other stuff to traverse the treacherous environment, but then again flying would make those moot anyway. but if the fireworks thing was removed, you would still need infrastructure to even move around consistently, so perhaps that's the fix.
About the problem with the deep black shadows: there is a great mod called dynamic Fulbright. It’s like Fullbright but with a lot more variety in the levels of brightness

There might be a way to reduce the deep black via ressource pack. Take this with a grain of salt, it's been a while since I last tinkered with MC. I think there is an image file you can overwrite with a ressource pack. The image is basically a gradient that represents ambient lighting based on how bright the environment is. There is/was a similar gradient image to adjust time of day lighting colors I think. I used to modify those files to have very dark caves and longer, darker nights by making parts of that gradient darker. This should work the other way around by brighten the darkest parts of this gradient and again, put it in a resource pack which overwrites the game's vanilla version of that gradient.
As an alternative to elytra, the grappling hooks mod is very fun with fragmented terrain. Idk if the terrain is too far apart here for that to work though. Also I'm not sure if there's a solid ground, but finding a way to loop to bottom to the top with stacked dimensions or something like that would be awesome
In terms of getting rid of those shadows, a Vanilla Tweak like "Fullbright" might work, but it does give a warning that it may not be compatible with rendering mods, but I think it'd be worth testing out (I don't have the specs to run it myself lol)!
This right here is what I've always thought the nether should be. It would be so awesome to just be able to wander through the nether and see endless expanses of netherack above and below - and maybe it could add a really hard structure at the bottom with awesome loot to motivate going down to see the lava oceans.
Considering a world that combines this with a gravity control mod. Have a mostly build-focused chill world rotated 90 degrees. Possibly also with create/another building-focused mod.
Would love to see a Made in Abyss themed pack based around this, Immersive Portals with dimension stacking, along with definitely Create (an elevator traveling thousands of blocks would be amazing). Each dimension could act as a layer and that also eases the whole process of making each layer unique, you just simply modify the world gen on that dimension.

Rather than setting clouds to just maximum, I'd want the ability to have them at both vertical ends, and some interesting formations with density variations from localized weather in between. This style of world lends itself better to being a crazy sort of "skyblock" with relatively full terrain. It has me in mind of Cloudpunk worlds, where there may or may not be a "ground" below the bottom cloud layer, but the imaginative society that builds up between the sky-islands (skylands) surviving in such harsh conditions, developing trade and vehicles to navigate the world is the focus. A fantastic setting, with unlimited modpack RP potential. Of course, to simplify the perception of "cloud layers" it could just be a graphical effect localized to a certain render distance from the player on either end of Y. Simple, but immersive, and allows you to leave vanilla clouds at any point you please for going best with your builds in such a world. If ocean biomes are also rendered as vast open voids with only the clouds layers to mark them, that'd be even better! 🤩
