Thanks for this one Igor. I used to use the Italian Opening in my younger days, but you can get situations where a pawn gets in front of you strong c4 Bishop in some lines. With the Scotch Gambit, you don't have such problems. Thanks for the video on playing against it with black. I didn't realise it was as potent as that. It makes you think twice about Fried liver ideas. Thank you.
best thing about gm igor smirnov is he teaches variations for all possible moves until endgame sometimes, like which pawn to push in that position. i have faced almost many moves and crushed my opponents using these tactics and traps.
I have a question to minute 4:25: Bb4+ is explained as a mistake but if after the pawn exchange black plays Ba5, which is the most natural move to keep attacking c3, there is not much white can do. The bishop is covered by the knight so no Qd5 trick and white does not seem to have much compensation for the pawn.
You can move the knight up on f3 to G5 instead of sacrificing the bishop. Your bishop on a5 isnt doing much with the white pawn defended by the other knight.

I have a book on the Scotch Gambit that recommends this line: 1. e4 e5 2. d4 exd4 3. Nf3 Nc6 4. Bc4 Nf6 5. e5 d5 6. Bb5 Ne4 7. Nxd4 Bd7 8. Bxc6 Bxc6 9. 0-0 Bd7 10. f3 Ng5 11. Nc3 c6 What do you think? And can you explain how to play the Scotch Gambit as Black?
After 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 exd4 4.Bc4, the move 4...d5 is a mistake. The pawn on d5 is only defended once but attacked twice. White can continue: 5.exd5, and if 5...Na5 then 6.Qxd4. If 5...Nb4, then just 6.O-O Nxd5 7.Qxd4 (with a huge lead in development for White).

Blocks bishop, and allows bishop development for Black, to also block your white bishop, bring queen to check goes to a pawn to block, This gives black 1.30 point head start after opening. For positioning
At about 4:10 am I missing something? Black isn’t checkmated. After Black uses its night to defend the F pawn and the white bishop takes it, then Black just castles and defends the F pawn with the black rook. At 4:00, I don't think the queen take F7 mate is unstoppable. The knight to H6 allows castling after the bishop takes.
