My pajama drawer is always full of demoted tshirts that i cant get rid of! 😂 To be fair, they are SO soft from being washed a zillion times (but...they get pretty thin... thats when they become exclusively summer pjs!)
So many turn into pajama shirts or if they are stained/damaged they often turn into shirts I wear when dying my hair. Or doing other things that I don't have to worry if they get bleached/stained lol
Ugh, we just moved from Northern Calif to Idaho & had to pack up a 2200 sq ft house with a 2.5 car garage that we'd been in 17 yrs. We purged everything we ccould. Donated, sold, gave away & it still took 3 separate trips in the largest moving van. It's really not the furniture that is a pain, it's all the collectibles & books/cds/dvds/games & holiday decor that once packed up takes up a lot of room. It's also very tedious to pack. Clothes can take up a lot of wardrobes & plastic bins. So yes, if you have a lot of time to prepare for a move (we didn't, had to be out in 2 weeks) definitelt declutter & purge everything you don't want taking up space in the moving van. I am happy to be able to finally wear more of my clothes since it's considerably cooler here in Idaho vs Sacramento. dressing in layers is very comfortable :) Now, we just need to find a perm home. (All our stuff is in storage atm) But it's really nice to be close to family during the holidays.
I bet you don’t miss the Sacramento summers 😅 that’s one thing we can’t wait do without. But all of that sounds so stressful having to pack up, I don’t envy you for sure! Hope you find your permanent home soon! Are you guys renting temporarily?
"Finally I have enough hangers" is something I foolishly mutter nearly every week before finishing the laundry. I will never learn. I feel in good company here.
oh my gosh i love the professor blazer thing. SO cute. rn i'm in my witchy academia era but i'm yearning for my professor era (but only have 3 pairs of trousers)
I'm 6 months pregnant and i keep packing away the clothes that don't fit over my belly. This little girl has forced me to go through my closet lol. I've never been more brutal than now, i love thrifting beautiful stuff but then I don't wear it😅
I feel that, thrifting beautiful things gives me so much seratonin but then I feel bad when I don’t wear it. Part of it for me is that anything that ends up in the back of the closet I forget exists 😅
Closet clean outs are always hard! I’ve been trying to get brutal when going through mine. I have a weird attachment to some special items that make them hard to part with
Being sentimental and a hoarder is so real 😂 even if I don’t wear something anymore I always feel so guilty about getting rid of things for no reason, as if they have feelings 😂
When I have to rearrange my things I always try to let go of a few items. I always think about how many times have I used said item. If the answer is none or a few times, I get rid of it in hopes someone else uses it more.
Hi Scotty! I’m working on a very nature-heavy closet so life is a 24/7 Ren Faire. What do you suggest to really naturalize white button-ups besides dye and embroidery??
If you don’t want to use dye or embroider it but you are still able to alter it, I’d say getting some natural looking cream lace or crochet trims and adding to the collar and/or cuffs could be cool. I also think changing out the buttons with similar/same size wood buttons would be cool and would add contrast. If you’re not able to alter the button downs (say if it’s a uniform - not sure your circumstances) to keep it looking natural, maybe don’t button it up all the way and if the sleeves are long, roll them up (if it’s dress code) and you can drape a cool nature inspired looking thin fabric scarf (or tie it loosely with the neckline) - a cool vest (as look as it’s more natural less “bar waiter”) could also bring that hobbity/fantasy vibe to a button down.
Ah that might have been one of the ones that went to the charity shop 😭 the one time I’m prompt about donating and not leaving things in my trunk for 3 months 😆
You did amazing going through your clothes! So proud of you!!
Also, your wardrobe is amazing 😍❤

Haha I’m glad I’m not the only one who does that 😂 I think my pajama shirts are all exclusively demoted t-shirts 😆
So real because I have band shirts that I don’t wear out anymore or have stains/ other reason, so I wear them as pj’s or lounge shirts.
Yes! And the next incarnation of the summer pjs is rags for cleaning brushes, staining wood and other DIYs.

I understand the hanger thing! My family keeps stealing my hangers though.....I have so many velvet hangers 😂
They’re so good! My husband has stolen some too 😂 I just wish they didn’t break as easily as they do. That might be an explanation too…
@@DressMeUpScotty Mine break when I force them through the top of a shirt or when my dogs steal them! I think my dad has most of them 😂
You did so well with this! I really need to go through my wardrobe and these videos help motivate me
Yes do it! It feels good once you’re done - like it frees up mental space as well.

@@DressMeUpScotty haha exactly! Then I admire it for a minute, then put it back in the hidden part of my closet.
We moved from California to eastern Washington so I understand this fully

I totally feel that. I can’t think about things too long or else I feel guilty even if I haven’t worn it in a long time 😭
Love you!!! Great video ❤
Thank you! 🥰❤️
What great timing! I just donated a bunch of my clothes I haven't grabbed in years bc I too am a hoarder🤭 or just sentimental 😅

oh wow, i love that pastel sweater from the 2nd closet! will it be on your poshmark? i'm a poshmark girlie.
I can list it up today on posh if you want it!
@@DressMeUpScotty please! that would be great!

I’ve been doing the same lately. I think this is the 2nd or 3rd clean out this year, seems to be happening when I change out things for the season.

@ Cool I do most of those besides adding lace details!! That’ll be easy! Thank you 🥰 also how much for those green Briggs pants and what size?? 😅
@ don’t be mad but they maaaay have been part of the load I took to charity to help the selling stash manageable 😅 they were a 28” I think
Where did you get the hangers you use for your skirts?? I need those!!
My first set I got at Ross but I got more on Amazon! They save SO much space!
@DressMeUpScotty I've never seen those but yesss I definitely need more room in my closet so I will be looking for those hangers!
I just switched from my summer cloths to winter wear.
Yeah the weather here switched QUICK
@@DressMeUpScotty It did. I live in California, too. :)
Where will you be listing the Wednesday Addams inspired dress? I'd love to buy it from you!

what is that coat at 21:47 from? it's so cool!
The tag says “Christian Ruperto” - got it secondhand on the Whatnot app a while back.
Are you auctioning off the jewelry jars? I always love your jewelry!
Yes! I will be listing stuff tomorrow for the auction, including the jars 🥰❤️
@@DressMeUpScotty Woo!! I'll try to be there!
