My first ever mechanical keyboard is a Ducky One 2 so this company will always have a special place in my heart. Thinking of getting this one for my kiddo.
Ducky is getting close to GOAT status, the only reason (I feel) they aren't is because of how steep the competition is right now. If they have an aluminum body option and 2.4 Ghz wireless, people would have little reason to not get a Ducky board. I would also appreciate indicator lights on every version (even the 60%). Having optional, dedicated software (that you can download) wouldn't hurt.
I'm the weird person that hates non-replaceable batteries in keyboards. batteries can bloat and age - just makes the keyboard more disposable. I like the old fashioned wired keyboards
@@J7T800 I have one Varmilo Moonlight and a few Duckys and I didn't use the Varmilo for a year or more because the Duckys work better for me in terms of lights and function key bindings. Typing is nice on the Varmilo, too, but I don't like it better than the Ducky One 3.
I had to come back to this video and celebrate with you. Ducky is FINALLY releasing the all black and all white versions! Soooo excited. I pre-ordered myself the white one. Can't wait to get it!
When they start selling a solid white barebones version with rgb I'm definitely getting one in the future and I'm gonna throw in gateron box ink pinks and do some mods, I've always wanted a custom tkl keyboard but I didn't want to get the idabao id87 as it's a tad too expensive for me, also the pinging or ringing sound is most likely the springs in the switches get a bit of lube on them it should stop
funnily enough, I built a custom TKL for under 100. I just looked for a kit off ebay (was about 40) then got some old switches (50) and the rest of the parts were already there. The keycaps I got as a gift and boom! Fully custom keyboard, I just modded the stabs a little and added foam.
Gmmk pro is fine for an entry level custom and it's a 75% which is basically the same. My board from kbdfans cost around $250 and I'm using rosealios switches which are very premium. So it's possible

Same. I think their colorways are beautiful, but some of us just really want a clean white base to work from. Hopefully they hear everyone's cries and release a white RGB. Preferably a TKL or full size for my personal tastes...

It’s crazy how many well reviewed prebuilt keyboards absolutely flub the Spacebar sound profile. Every board I’ve ever owned including a Ducky One 2 Mini, a vortex race 3 rgb, and even the Keychron q1 v2 required me to manually relube the stabilizers with something like krytox g2050 and also do things like the ticking fix/bandaid mod to reduce stabilizer ticking/rattle. Frankly this stuff isn’t rocket science and it should be trivial for these companies to do this stuff in the factory - but they just don’t for some reason. It really is starting to seem like incompetence and I know personally I’d happily pay more if it meant getting a truly premium experience without it these common pitfalls. This sort of thing is especially disappointing on something like the Keychron Q1 since that board gets so much else right. Feelsbadman.
Just upgraded from Ducky One 2 TKL to 3 and oh my, what a difference, it's night and day. I will mod it with tape and apply lube later, but for now it's really great as is.
Thank you for this video, very comprehensive, easy to understand and mentions everything I need to know as a mechanical keyboard noob! Now I can brag about its quality in detail and not have to mention that the main reason I've got it is because it comes in pink 😂
These new One 3s look really nice imo. I love the color ways they decided to go with from the factory. Unfortunately the 2 Ducky keyboards I owned both had to be returned because every other boot or so, they would refuse to be recognized by my pc even after updating the firmware as well as changing various settings to try and remedy the issue. These keyboards were the Mecha mini v2 and the One 2 Mini just as a point of reference. From what I read, it seems to be a fairly common issue that people run into with those models, so I really hope that the one 3 fixes that problem. Really good video by the way. I really love the energy you put into your reviews, it is extremely refreshing 👍🏻😊
Cherry switches on thier own being scratchy isn't a huge problem, it's the fact that they're MORE scratchy than kailhs and gaterons are stock and often cost an upcharge
I recently got one. After lubing switches + stabs, holee modding the stabs, adding some dampening material to the back plate and using o-rings for the shift + tab + space + return + backspace keys this keyboard sounds way above it's category.
@@aroyanbs I'm generally very happy with how the keyboard sounds. 2 months in I got rid of the o-rings and replaced the switches with ink black v2s. It's a good enthusiast board reasonably priced, I just regret getting the RGB version.
