    I have a 1996 international fedex step van that has been stalling I’m not to sure if it could be the fuel or could it be the transmission I’m in a bit of a rut but I seen a couple of ur videos that I’m going to try out a few things before actually hiring a mechanic that’s charging me a arm and a leg your videos are awesome and helpful

      jayford agbayani I’m glad you find them helpful. I was going to make brake change videos next but I quit that job and went back to tow trucking. Sorry.

    Love your channel !!! Looking at buying a freightliner mt45 . Like doing my own maintenance when possible. I subscribed for sure.

      Tony T badass bro! Thanks. These trucks are almost 25 years old. With the right maintenance and tlc, they could easily run for 50 years. If you end up buying one and have any questions on maintenance or would like to see a specific repair, don’t hesitate to ask.

    I'm stoked to see you doing this channel and look forward to your upcoming videos. I'd love to see a video on the electronic speedometer and Hall Effect Transducer for MT45 with Cummins 6bt and Alis 545AT. seems parts for it are crazy expensive. is it better just to install a boat GPS speedometer?

    • @MasterT9000
      @MasterT9000  5 років тому +1

      Seven Grey any time I’ve had an issue with the speedometer, it’s been a wiring issue, with the exception of one. I’ve only had to replace the speed sensor once. Freightliner part number is AXE-700821000022. I haven’t replaced any more so I haven’t tried sourcing it anywhere else. I paid $370 at Freightliner. I will however do some research and see what I can come up with.

      Ok so here’s what I came up with. That Freightliner part crosses to 15559079 which was superseded in 1994 by GM-15969349. Or acdelco 213-237. At Orileys it’s $102. Lol I should have done that when I last replaced one.

    So true about sourcing parts from local stores!
    I have a '99 Freightliner MT45 with the Cummins 5.9, but I don't know what transmission I have so that I can buy the right ATF. Any idea how I can find out?

    • @MasterT9000
      @MasterT9000  4 роки тому +2

      David Sage There’s a 99% chance you have an Alyson AT545NN. Passenger side of the transmission there should be a plate with a serial number or possibly a model number. You can call Freightliner with the vin and they can tell you. Or you can verify with Alyson by calling them with that serial number. Alyson transmissions take Alyson fluid or approved specific GPL TranSynd. I have also seen BP Autran Syn 295 used.

    Cool. Where are you guys located? Do you do repairs for the public or just fedex? Chevy P30 vs. Freightliner mt45? Was thinking the MT45 might be harder to get parts for, a bit more powerful and maybe more reliable. IDK any thoughts?

    • @MasterT9000
      @MasterT9000  3 роки тому +1

      I no longer work for that company. The shop belongs to a Fedex ground contractor. So they only work on their own trucks. Definitely mt45. Avoid the chevys gmc’s and workhorse. They’re all pretty much the same thing. Easier to get parts for but you’ll be fixing it all the time. The Freightliner’s parts are easy to get, and they are more expensive but they never break.

      @@MasterT9000 Awesome. Thanks for your comment. Will be driving across the US at some point so was just curious where you're located if I needed a mechanic.

      And how do you find a mechanic that works on step vans? Uncle is a mechanic and owns a autobody shop but doesn't work on those and isn't familiar with them. Thought the parts would be expensive, but he's not familiar with them. I saw the Mill supply site.

    • @MasterT9000
      @MasterT9000  3 роки тому

      What parts are you expecting to break? Most parts for an mt45 you can get at Orileys.

    • @MasterT9000
      @MasterT9000  3 роки тому

      If you get an mt45 get a 2000 or older. They will have a 12 valve 5.9 Cummins. The most popular Diesel engine ever made. It’s all mechanical and anyone can work on it.

      That was when I first started. I was trying to quit smoking and that was the cheapest option. I was using a mango peach flavor. I’ve moved on to a better setup and better flavors.
