Every part has a sort of “passing on the torch” from the previous part’s Jojo, except for Part 5 to Part 6 (and Part 1 to Part 2 but I mean come on). I’ve always felt that what could have been interesting to see in the first episode or 2 in Stone Ocean would be for Giorno to send his condolences to Jolyne but to also explain that any organized crime in America is outside his jurisdiction, and therefore he couldn’t mess with any legal proceedings without inciting conflict between criminal organizations. Or he could have at least sent like a postcard or something. Now that I think about it, would the plot to Stone Ocean still have worked if Giorno was the one that sent the Stand Arrow shard to Jolyne instead?
While that would be cool, I don't know if we have any evidence to suggest that Giorno knows about the Joestars. Unless Giorno started actively looking for his heritage, he would not know who Jolyne was. However it would be really cool to see Giorno look for his family.

Apparently, Giorno wasn't even mentioned anywhere in the original japanese release of the manga. It was only when it was time to be translated for western audiences, one member of the team basically went, "Wait, isn't Giorno a son of DIO too?' so they pretty much threw in a line into Rykiel's bio so Giorno could at least be mentioned somewhere in Stone Ocean.

I think it would've been aweseome if in the final fight as they got surrounded, Giorne needed Requiem to purely focus on stopping the time speed up but Pucci's stand could still move in acceralated speed and effecting Star Platinum, it prob would've closed up that plot hole while still keeping him there. Maybe as a foreshadowing, show a very fogged up version of Giorno in scenes where Dio's sons are mentioned, making the reader/viewer question where that 4th child is only for Giorno to come in with Jotaro
