Her official video for this song is a work of art... it is a single take. Her traditional rendition of Spanish music is just so beautiful... try her Cuplerias video. I love Sola, the live version in Salamanca.
Diana Navarro - Sola (Salamanca 05). 3. Diana Navarro - Cuplerías (Gala de los Premios Ceres 2012). Enjoy!
The story of Diana Navarro's song "El perdón" revolves around a betrayed woman who, while her partner is in the intensive care unit experiencing their final moments, looks into his face and recalls the wrongs done to her. She expresses her anger and hurt towards her partner, emphasizing that she no longer has any desire to forgive him. The song highlights the absence of forgiveness and emphasizes that granting forgiveness is no longer possible. "El perdón" delivers a deep emotional experience to listeners by portraying the inner feelings and struggles of a betrayed woman.
You have many live performances from her, Cuplerias, Sola, El Romance de la Otra, etc... I like more the official video of El Perdon, it is an art piece. I love at the end when she holds a note for more than 20 seconds and blend it to the sounds of the heart machine when someone dies. Finally her abusive partner dies. She is called the singer with the three lungs for how long she can sustain the notes. Check out "Adios" as well a very emotional song. The lyrics are amazing. el Perdon and Adios make many people to cry even not understanding the lyrics.
From mongolia to portugal, this type of high compressed mixed yoddelish sound are very present in traditional music of middle east, mediterranean sea and black sea ! The successive conquests of the area by Persian, Mongol, Ottoman.. really helped to infuse music with these sonorities ! if you listen to traditional music from turks, ouzbek, kazakh, arabic, iranian, gipsy, copla spanish, flamenca, Portuguese fado, Marrocoan, Algerian, you'll ear these similarities !! I love so much the idea of the journey the music went on to reach us !!!
All of their are Mediterranean indoeuropean in general, not the east exclusively. It´s a very ancient music style in all of these areas. It lost in the dark of the times of humanity. Then in each country, territory, etc have his own sub-style. Nothing more. In Spania or Spaniu (all actual Iberian Peninsule - actual Spain and Portugal - the name is egiptian original that means "the reign of the gods" or "the acuatic reign of the Shun (Atlas) god") in pre-roman times, even more far away in the time (pre-phoenicians too), existed similar songs styles already, clothes and dances. The most people in the world (even many "professionals") believes that the "Mediterranean" traditional music came from the east expanded by the "muslims" or "persians", etc. But it isn´t true. They are completely wrong. Like the bagpipes (Egiptians and extended by romans in the Europe, not celts), etc. There is still all aTruth world to discover for all people wants it. Regards.
Good reaction and good analysis. Definitively you must to listen and react to more songs of this artist. You will blow your mind in any song practically. When you say that this vibrato or melisma is more quick than the most traditional Occident music and you think that it procced by east, it´s not true. I think you probably are accostumed to hear the "Anglo" music more than other type. But the traditional Occidental music is not only Anglo, but Spanish, Portuguesse, a part of Mediterranean, French, Italian, etc too (even American Hispanic and Brazil for example). All of those are similar and differents at the same time. In fact, the Anglosaxon (from traditional Germanic, celtic and a American Spanish original in a great part, centuries ago) music is the different of the rest of the True Occidental Music. But the Anglosaxon style is the most popular in the world, but not mean anything more. There are many many more styles in Occident very more ancient, original, rich, unique, complex, technical, difficult, etc than the "Anglosaxon" music (that nowaday is auto-called "Occidental Music", but it´s not true, it´s only a one very litte part of it). Meanwhile the most of rest Occidental Music Styles continue evolucionating, mixing with others, improving, etc, but the "Anglosaxon" music every day is getting more stuck, because is in his own bubble, stared at her/his "marveles" own belly botton. I think, you have all of a world to discover in the music planet, specially here, in our Occident. Good luck and enjoy your new journey that you have undertaken. Your mind will openwide much to other new world more near you than you believe 🙂 Regards.
Diana Navarro is a very versatile singer singing different styles of music. With those melismas and those long notes that transmit so much. I recommend you a live song "CUPLERIAS GALA DE LOS PREMIOS CERES". Greetings from Spain.
Diana Navarro is an artist who reflects the cultural diversity of Andalusia in her music. She blends Western music and cultural influences from history through her vocal abilities. In her style, we can observe Arab influences at times, Flamenco elements at other times, and Western tones. Diana Navarro brings together these various musical elements to create her unique voice and breath control. This is a reflection of her musical style and creativity.
She's incredible, and good at acting as well, I've seen her in a music theater play singing coplas, and she did just perfect. What a professional and passionate person. Also the lyrics of this song adds up to the whole performance.
You have a lot different styles in Spain, we fortunately have lot of cultures here (Zarzuela, jota, Galician bagpipes, cantigas, regeifas, sardanas, paso doble…) and the one relates to the sud tradition (flamenco, saetas, coplas…). We actually have tons of different and curious song techniques related to our foundation as country country of passage and mix and encounter of many cultures (Mediterranean, Latin, Arab, European...) for years. We have a lot of influences from Mediterranean and Arabic styles, in a lot of historic and actual titles you can research it’s origins until the antiquity all around Mediterranean (lot of studies about that). I really don’t know a lot about this style but you can search into saetas and zarzuela and other dramatized musical styles about the dramatization, and also she is a saetas and flamenco specialist singer so you can see in there for technical developments. You can see a lot of this techniques even in pop or modern music from Spain in Spanish but this styles have most. I Hope you enjoy if you are interested

This will not be a waste of your time , It is pretty insane to be honest,. See what you think, Thanks Bethanie, With love from Florida @
Hey, Bethany!!! Been following your UA-cam channel for 2 weeks, enjoying your reactions to all kinds of singers' performances. Since I'm a fan from China, I'd like to invite you to give more of your reactions to Chinese singers TIA RAY and Zhou Shen their live performances on Singer 2020 of Hunan TV. Especially, TIA's version of "Train to Spring" (《开往春天的地铁》in Mandarin)is really stunning! Hope you'll like it, and can't wait to see your reviews as soon. Thx, indeed!
A nice analysis, I would ask you to react to Mónica Naranjo in "Vivir así es morir de amor", "Europa live", "Jamás", "Siempre fuiste mío"..., but I don't want to stress you, greetings
Please react to Mónica Naranjo, she is another Spanish artist, like Diana Navarro, but with a style that ranges from opera to pop/rock, she reacts to the song of the year 2000 Europa, in the concert stage. You will be left with your mouth open. In this song he uses all the registers of his voice, always perfect.
Hello, what a wonderful reaction! I just subscribed to your channel because I loved it. You are a real breath of fresh air in this kind of videos. Your emotion is noticeable and you are able to transmit it to those who see you. You have a naturalness and sympathy that go beyond the barrier of the screen and make you feel very close. I ask you please to react to another song by Diana Navarro live. The song is called solo and is a performance in Salamanca. Si te gusto Diana Navarro deberias escuchar tambien a otra de nuestras grandes voces Monica naranjo te sugiero Ahora Ahora (lugar) o Europa adagio tour.
May I introduce you to another new singer (songwriter, producer, dancer, performer, artist). Well, I'm hoping 'new' as you have no videos listed. From Norway, her name is Aurora and I'd suggest this as a good introduction:- Aurora - 'It Happened Quiet' (Live at The Current) : ua-cam.com/video/9U-N6LqzdIM/v-deo.html

Diana's influence is flamenco. I think that's what you mean when you say the eastern melismatic sound that you identify in her.

For the times that you cheated on me
For the children that you did not give me
The promises you didn't keep
And the kisses that you didn't feel
The forgiveness
For having kept you so quiet
The women that you kept
By manipulated hugs
For the uncontrolled anger
The forgiveness
God gives it to you
But not me
For believing that you were my owner
Manipulating all my dreams
Entangling me with caresses
Coaxing me with lies
The forgiveness
For having felt dirty
With the love that my love gave you
Despising myself with silences
Greed your living picture
The forgiveness
God gives it to you
But not me
You have made fun of me
But your end has come
God gives it to you
But not me

Hello, what a wonderful reaction! I just subscribed to your channel because I loved it. You are a real breath of fresh air in this kind of videos. Your emotion is noticeable and you are able to transmit it to those who see you. You have a naturalness and sympathy that go beyond the barrier of the screen and make you feel very close. I ask you please to react to another song by Diana Navarro live. The song is called solo and is a performance in Salamanca. Thank you very much and sorry for my bad english ua-cam.com/video/gfy4-UHk7EE/v-deo.html
