I run them on my truck and they are very quiet and they are the best riding mud tire ive ever ran by far. I dont offroad a lot but i do gravel roads sometimes and of course they have no issue
Currently Running BFG Km3's in 265/70/17. I drive off-road Predominately I Have run General Grabber-Chunked out on gravel bad. Nitto Grapper- Worn to fast and Chunked on gravel. Cooper Discover Stt- Wore slow didnt chunk, pretty good tire, but got noisy with wear. The km3 have been good so far and are wearing slow. Thanks for the Review always looking for the "best" tire.
Love these as daily driver on my FJ Cruiser. They are incredible off road as expected but the surprising part is how quiet they are on road and how predictable their handling in rain is.
Big fan of these Yokohama Geolandar's on my 2017 SR 5 speed 4x4 Tacoma, and they ride nice and quiet on the highway yet have tons of traction on the dirt.
Just found these tires online and then found your video while doing research. Thank you. No bs. Straight facts with credible opinions. I’m going to order them now.
I prefer the pro-comp Xtreme MT2, best wet traction and snow ice traction in any MT I ran before… but since the owners of NITTO bought them out, they killed the pro-comp tire brand. So now I’m shopping for an equivalent . Looking at the geolanders
I am running Falken Wildpeak AT3W. It was a tough decision between those and the Yokohama Geolandar. I struggled between the two for a couple of weeks. Went with the Falken because their tread warranty is 5k higher (at least from the store I got them from). After seeing this, I may give the Yokohama’s a shot next, depending on how well the Falken perform. Only 1k on them, but 100% satisfied so far
Hey man I'm in the same boat between the at3w or the geolanders I was thinking about the Toyo AT3 as well I don't know what I want to do but the Falken wildpeaks are supposed to be really good how do you like them so far have you tested him in the rain or snow that is my main concern also do a lot of highway driving
@@--emt absolutely LOVE them so far! Been in sand, mud, gravel, tons of rain (had a borderline monsoon season the last few months), and absolutely zero complaints (minus the cleats on the sidewall like to throw mud all over the side of the truck. And the tread likes to hold gravel) but I expected that going in. Unexpectedly hit several flooded areas in the road expecting to hydroplane, and they felt like they just dug in and kept traction extremely well. No snow, as I live in the South, usually nothing more than flurries, so I can’t really give you an honest review there. BUT, they are still new. I know ATs can flip a 180 on performance once they get some wear to them. They’re honestly an AT that handle like a HT. Just took a trip to Florida with them and they handled beautifully. I’d 100% buy them again.
@@tjheider7563 awesome review thank you. I do mostly Highway commute early (4a) in the morning .I'm a first responder so I'm out before the plow trucks get there and see tons of rain and diverse weather in the (Boston area). Looking at the 275 60 20 size had Toyo at2 extremes on my old truck and I love them. SUCH A HARD CHOICE !
@@--emt honestly, noise is a non issue. They are a LITTLE louder than the tires my truck came with, but I mean a very small amount. As for throwing rocks, ATs in general have that issue when they’re new because of the much deeper tread. But seeing as to how these tires have manhandled everything I’ve thrown at them, I don’t see why they wouldn’t do the same in snow and ice. Wildpeaks like to eat. Ride quality isn’t really noticeable either. They’re silica based, so it gives them a smoother ride, extends the wear, and makes them grip like crazy in rain. They actually grip better than my previous HTs that came on the truck. I fought with the decision between Geolandar and Wildpeak for months. What finally sold me was the Geos are a 50k rated tire, and the Wildpeaks are 55k. But from what I’ve read, you can’t go wrong either way. Best of luck to ya, brother!

Currently running 315 75 r17's on my Silverado 1500 but have always liked these given the good reviews they get. I hate a loud tire which is why i went KO2, as well as i've run them before and love them for my use. A couple of questions: How long did these last? Once they aged with mileage, did they get louder? Would you buy them again?
Actually still running the same tires and plenty of tread at around 20k miles on them. Still very quiet for an aggressive MT tire too. The prices have jumped since I made this video but I'd definitely grab them again.
I paid $2500 for seven tires of the Yokohama MT but I bought the 255/85/ R 16 so I can fit it in my dually without rubbing the sides or lifting the truck up. On my factory original Alcola rims 16 inch they look amazing but I went on ahead and put a 2 inch spacer between the door wheels just in case ever put weight in the back but truthfully I’ve never driven it on the road since the truck is in the paint body shop and I’m running a 572 to 4 barrel carburetor with the blower supercharged and it’s a 1987 square body R30 i’ve had these tires before and I’ve never had to use the four-wheel-drive on the rough terrain‘s that I’ve been through especially on snow I think they’re fantastic tire but I haven’t tried them out on the truck yet because it’s been in the shop kind of pricey but it’s worth the money my other alternative would’ve been with the open country tires or the BGoodrich but I think the Yokohama‘s are better.
I have these on a ram 1500. They now have 40k miles on them still quite a bit of tread left. The guy at discount tire was impressed with the mileage and how much tread I have left. I rotate them religiously every 4K miles. I will be buying another set for sure.
I have the Geolandar X-AT's (10 ply/Load E), which are on the heavy side for an AT/"hybrid" tire. Good to hear these MT's aren't as bad. I think that weight on the wheels makes everything work harder in the car, it is definitely worse on a car than hauling a couple hundred lbs.
Man these tires look so awesome on a taco 👌🏾I'm definitely going to look into these more so now than the BFG Km3's, I currently have the BFG ko2's that came with my truck when I bought it
im switching today to g003s from km3s which i really really like . the yokies have a lot to live up to . just cheaper . and more tread . i always thought the km 3 tread depth was a pisstake

its funny you posted this video, been looking at getting new wheels for mine. but heres the kicker, have ironman open country at on mine at the moment they arent good in rain and or snow and the dealer i bought the truck was in area. they are cheaper tire. not sure what i should do cause i know i want black wheels, should i keep tires or get new?
I haven't been able to find answers to how bad do they pick up rock, like on a gravel road? I'm needing to upgrade my stock sasquatch tires as they are beating the crap out of my doors
Since these tires are lighter, does your Tacoma still need to be re geared ? I know you did on your truck but what are your thoughts when you drove it before installing new gears
I've aired down with them plenty of times and haven't had any sidewall issues. You'd have to check with the manufacturer about them being belted with kevlar.
Might pick these up when the time comes for new tires, right now I've been running the mastercraft courser, so far I've liked them they handled the winter very well but they're noisy on the road.

its funny you posted this video, been looking at getting new wheels for mine. but heres the kicker, have ironman open country at on mine at the moment they arent good in rain and or snow and the dealer i bought the truck was in area. they are cheaper tire. not sure what i should do cause i know i want black wheels, should i keep tires or get new?
New tires is a good option if it's in the budget.
@@Tacomaholic they can be, now a package deal is sought
That's all nice. Will they fit my stock Tacoma? Is the question.🤣
Lol yes! ... after some hammering and cutting.
Up to $264 per now
definitely on the Radar. 👍👍
Love mine have over 10k
wow, tire prices have gone up a lot since this video
I have a set of 35x12.5r20 geolandar's on my 2014 Silverado and really like them so far, they ride great on and off road.
Thinking on getting a set of R17 for my truck. How are they so far?
@@cradjackson5953 I love them so far great all the way around, you will be happy you got them.....
Have a 1500 Silverado considering putting these on. How many miles did you get out of your set?
How did they balance out? Any vibrations driving on highways?
No vibrations at all and very smooth on the highway.
Can we get an update? How are the tires holding up? What's the tread life expectancy of these tires?
Not sure what the life expectancy is but they are still doing great 15k miles later.
Great video, like always!
I haven't been able to find answers to how bad do they pick up rock, like on a gravel road? I'm needing to upgrade my stock sasquatch tires as they are beating the crap out of my doors
The tread on the tires is pretty wide for mud so only larger rocks would get stuck. I haven't had an issue with it yet.
@@Tacomaholic awesome thank you sir
295/70R18s are now $325 each thanks to inflation.
Yeah prices on tires have skyrocketed.
How much air you run on the tires
Since these tires are lighter, does your Tacoma still need to be re geared ? I know you did on your truck but what are your thoughts when you drove it before installing new gears
Yeah the truck still felt a little sluggish before the regear so I'd definitely recommend doing that.
Thanks man I appreciate the feed back!!!
Are they good in rain? MT in general , heard some people had issues sliding a lot
An MT will never be as good as a street tire in the rain, but these are great for MT's. I've never had a problem sliding.
So many more questions...
Are they belted? Any additional protection, like Kevlar? How does the sidewalls handle airing down?
I've aired down with them plenty of times and haven't had any sidewall issues. You'd have to check with the manufacturer about them being belted with kevlar.
Looking at these for my 94 f350 that's going to spend most of its time toting me back and forth to work. How would they do in a e2 load range?
The ones I have in 315/75R16 are regular E Load with a max load of 3860 lbs
what is the biggest tire you think i could put on stock height 2 wheel tacoma
If you don't want to do any trimming or hammering then a 265/75R16
What psi do you run them on road?
32 seems to be the sweet spot for me. Check out this vid on the chalk test to help determine: ua-cam.com/video/eerIE_jTFSE/v-deo.html
$425.00 each now........3-13-23...Damn
Crazy how the price has shot up.
Might pick these up when the time comes for new tires, right now I've been running the mastercraft courser, so far I've liked them they handled the winter very well but they're noisy on the road.
Just ordered the same tire same size on ray 10s
Nice! Which tire did you go with?
@@Tacomaholic g003..i currently have the stt pros in 305/70r16. I would of went back to the stt pros but the Yokohama seems to measure taller than the stt pros at 34.8 and thr stt pros measures at 34.5

Price jumped with COVID.
@Tacomaholic Yessss.. I have a discount of $1032 +100 mail rebates on a 27570R18 set.😅😅
Do the come in 255/80/17 and 255/85/16? I need the first size for my main tires and the second size for my spare
I didn't see that size on Discount Tire.
@@Tacomaholic dang. I know the main type of tire that comes it that size is mud terrains and I’m trying to fit 33s with minimal cutting after I get my lift
@@raginggamer5764 It's not too hard to fit 33s depending on your wheel offset.
@@Tacomaholic I have the 17 inch TRD pro wheels. They’re 17x7 and a +4mm offset

What your tires spec
Mine are 315/75R16
The person who bought the Toyota can't talk about the beauty of the tire. He can't talk about beauty at all.
