When the time comes I am going to test drive both cars to see which one I like better. I like the fact that the Camry has a 10 year warranty on the hybrid battery.
The Camrys hybrid system is much better than the Hondas outdated system
@@charlesjackson1700 What? They just redesigned the accord hybrid power train.
@@matty1053 It is still not up the par . And the battery has less of a warranty..👎.. I used to buy Hondas... They have REALLY DECLINED.. They were good from the 8th generation and below.. Their SUVs are subpar as well..
Honda warranty is less likely to be used than other manufacturers. Always been the case historically.
Others like say Hyundai you will need.
People are so scared that they equate it to longer warranty losing sight on the track record Honda lasts way past warranty.
Ps: As who has a better manufacturers ability in Hybrid, I don't see Toyota in F1 (F1 has hybrid) and when Toyota were in F1, Toyota did not find success.
@@crxdelsolsir Honda's hybrid system is nowhere near as good as Toyotas. Toyotas are more reliable overall. I used to buy Hondas all the time so I have a say in this.. Honda's reliability has really slipped in the past few years.
If it wasn’t for hybrid I would go with Honda, but Toyota hybrid is always 100% to go.
the hybrid on this accord is better than any one Toyota have ever done
@@AbuBawa-sw1ut
How can you prove it?
Hybrid adds lots of complexity, which could mean greater chance of problems.
Hybrid battery will have to be replaced after maybe 8 years, for $4000 USD.
Hybrid gets better gas mileage, but is that enough?
Save $5,000 by buying the Camry Hybrid over Accord Hybrid.
@@DerekDavis213 Not only mileage, you will feel that you are driving more luxurious car. Hybrid version is quieter than gas version hence you will get better driving experience. Life of Toyota battrey is longer than 8 years.
Both great choices. Honda went with elegant styling. Toyota went sporty.
The Honda Accord is not elegant it looks like a midgrade Civic... 😕
@@charlesjackson1700looks nothing like the new civic aside from the headlights. the camry, on the other hand, has almost the exact same front profile as the refreshed corolla from a few years back, with only the grill being different.
@@yimpyoi9808 👀You need to get your eyes checked👻
Elegant you say?😮
Elegant?? Maybe for a senior citizen lmaooo
I'm on my 4th Honda, 2nd Accord, and this will be my last. Honda quality is not what it used to be and anyone who says otherwise clearly has not owned a new Honda. I'll be trading my 2021 Accord on a new Camry.
I have the 2022 facelift, car is cheaply made pile of junk, with obvious cost cutting bits everywhere, I didn’t make the right choice going for it. Honda is pretty much done for me.
I have a '21 Accord Touring 2.0T and I don't have any quality issues. In fact, I find it to be rock solid and very fun to drive.
Really? Lol quality seems great
I would baby the Turbo. But at that point why get a Turbo? I might as well get a hybrid and save more gas.
None of the makers are, you must take care of the car!
It's the Toyota Camry for me. My 2017 Toyota Camry LE is my baby.
We have a 2023 Camry -- love how the front grill and headlights now look the same as a Prius Prime!
such an amazing car
@@Steve_in_NJ i want the new prius prime so bad
@@JJN603dont you will be poor because your want exceeds your sense
Since I was getting a family car, I went with a 2023 Accord over the 2024 Camry due to the safety rating for back seat passengers. Maybe it will be different for the 2025 Camry, but from what I remember basically no modern sedans other than the Accord had a good safety rating for back seat passengers.
As a side note, after 6 months with my car, the lack of a 360 cam in the Accord touring is my biggest gripe. Nearly everything else is high quality (ride quality, acceleration, cabin noise, comfort, driving assistance, etc), but the lack of a 360 cam is a glaring flaw that upsets me to no end.
360 cam is very useful ... but on Camry 2024 it is only on XLE means thousand$ for the feature (Toyota called "Bird's eye view"). Not sure detail$ how this option will add on 2025 Camry though.
I agree the Camry is the better valued car, but as is the case with most Toyota dealers, rarely does the buyer pay MSRP, and generally is charged an unreasonable markup. At least here in San Diego, Honda dealers have more inventory and deals are actually made, without markups. Great video and very timely!
Charging over MSRP is illegal. Fines and or prison time here.
🇨🇦
San Diego also. Having same problem.
@@billyrock8305everything is illegal in your gestapo tyranny where your government claps and cheers for old ww2 nazis
@@billyrock8305I'm surprised California doesn't have that law
The Honda looks like a Malibu scaring bidders away and lowering prices. We have Toyotas at MSRP in my state but you got to wait.
The Camry looks so much better.
Possibly for the first time ever.
It's got a Kia K5 look.
inside and out.
@@s4nder86 Yes, for the past six years or so, Toyota has gone for the high-drag look on the front ends, full of slots and cavities that, in many cases, have no functional value. This Camry looks a little better.
To you
Thank you so much for this valuable comparison.
Thank goodness Toyota has finally toned down the "Star Wars" styling look.
I'll take the Star wars look over the Impala look any day😂 that was offered on the Accord
Honda keeps making the Accord lower and lower for some reason. When everyone is buying SUVs because it's easier to get into. At least Toyota didn't lower the new Camry. Smart.
It's a shame honda ruined a good thing changing the exterior styling of the accord
That’s what happens in a redesign
I been a Honda Fan boy for years but it seem like Honda is starting to slip with feature. 1 example is that they are removing garage openers from the mirrors and are making that an expensive option. Around $700 installed. Another is that some of their cars are no longer coming with blind spot monitoring. Not even offer as a feature. Another is I can’t believe that they are not offering 360 degree camera. I have that in my BMW and it’s a game changer. My wife has a 2024 Honda and her rear camera sucks. Not even High Definition.
Honda's reliability is bad as well.. the 1.5 turbo engines crap out at 70 and 80k. Videos all over the internet..
I guess Honda ruins a good thing every 5 years? Change always happens however Honda made other mistakes. The Honda in other countries is better because it still has the panoramic roof and they pay more attention to the front Design details. They gave America the s***** version
Honda is not what it used to be. Also hate their no strategy towards Hybrid, no Hybrid, electric...they have no clue where the industry is heading. Wrong pricing, wrong engines, botched redesign, declining reliability. Toyota is way ahead of the game for sure.
I think I like the Camry better. I have driven the new Hybrid Accord (2023) and it's a nice car with lot's of space, and a great infotainment screen. However, I like the Camry design and little touches like offering more than a bland, black leather interior and a standard sized sunroof are great additions
No doubt The new Camry is a better car overall than the New Accord.
Camry 2025 drives better than accord
@@ibrahimbashir6634 did you drive the new Camry?
Bland all dark interiors are used to hide cheap plastics and imperfections.
Because of the instantaneous torque available with electric motors you will notice a marked performance improvement when driving an all-wheel drive version compared to a two-wheel drive. Having that extra electric motor on the rear wheels really helps with both traction AND ACCELERATION.
Also, Toyota's planetary gear set is bulletproof. It will last a lifetime.
Finally, a review comparing the feel of hybrid systems between Camry and Accord. Good job 👏
Thanks for getting this Comparison btwn the 2 Kings out so soon & fast! 🎉 Always enjoy your videos which are informative as well 😊
Thank you!
You're welcome! I like how before you pick the winner at the end, you give both cars their due. And that either are the right choices. Your winner I have to agree w tho
I could live with either one. I prefer the Honda Hybird touring. Looks are subjective. I did like the interior and dash of the Honda better, which I bought. My third Honda from the dealer which has always been good. The service department is good. The dealer should be an important part of what and where you buy. You can’t go wrong with either one. Personal preference.
Great job
Its a shame they ditched Honda Accord 2.0 and Camry V6 from previos gens which were much powerful cars than the new ones. I understand they want to go eco friendly BS with having low tuned version, but ditching those bigger horses are a let down for me . We still like to have a bit of fun with the family sedans..
Well, simply, demand for the V6 or 2.0 Turbo wasn't high enough for a "family sedan." It's a waste of resources to keep it alive. On the other hand, demand for hybrid vehicles in this segment is skyrocketing. If you want a sporty sedan, there are BMW M3, Audi S4, or C43 AMG models out there to look at.
@@JADE939 Maybe a closer example of performance sedans would be TLX-Type S, G70, IS350.
I agree with you. I have a '21 Accord Touring 2.0T and while I appreciate the Accord Hybrid for what it is, I would choose the more powerful option every time. Honda and Toyota have both offered higher powered engines for many years. It's a shame to see those options disappearing. For those of you who say demand wasn't high enough, Honda sold approximately 220k Accords with the 2.0T engine between '18 - '22. That may not be super high volume but it is hardly insignificant. And for those who say, "well just buy a BMW M3, Audi S4 or C43 AMG", have you checked the price tag on those cars? They're practically double the price. They are not a viable option for people wanting a practical sedan that offers a bit more power just for pure fun of driving. In Honda's case, I wish they would have dropped the 1.5T base engine, offered the Hybrid engine as their core power plant and continued to produce the 2.0T for those of us who actually enjoy a more spirited driving experience.
@@JADE939they charged too much of they put the v6 in the le insyead of bridgetroll gatekeeping it starting with the trd and ultra top trim models theyd have seen there was a demand
@@JADE939 they don’t hit the price point of Accord and Camry. I owned a 2.0t. I regret selling it now. Thinking of getting an MX-5
Spare tire is very important to me.
I had had many flat tires in the past.
both are amazing!
Thank you for an excellent and comprehensively detailed review. I'm leaning toward the Honda as I don't need AWD in Florida and the memory seats
that are standard on the EX-L are indispensable , as I'm tall and my wife, short !
I think it comes down to one's pocketbook and what one values as more important. To each their own. Thanks for the video!
I love my 23 accord touring. But awd and red interior options are great.
Love watching your videos from Brisbane Australia…always great reviews… Camry is for me, can’t wait until the cars get to Down Under
Thanks for watching!
Excellent review! Concise and to the point 👍. I agree with your conclusions. If I were in the market for a new car, I would buy the Camry.
Thank you!
Our reviewer omitted one detail : availability. In Canada you can walk in and buy an Accord Hybrid, while although new Camry is not officially in dealerships, you have to expect easy 6M of waiting.
Well considering the lifetime sales of these generations of the cars, that won't matter in 6 months.
@@thisisntsergio1352 it's all about when you need it. It could be in unexpected event happening, and you need a car in 2 weeks. You can't rent a car for 6M right??? Bottom line Toyota didn't fix their supply chain issues yet, at least in Canada. Not sure about US market.
6 months for the current Camry? I doubt it
@@sk-un5jq Hybrid version has a lot wait time, gasoline version you can get in few weeks.
I am not surprised about the wait. The front of the Accord is kinda ordinary like an aging Malibu. People are hyped about the new Camry design. Toyota taking forever to train their people and demand building up like a line in front of a restaurant.
I have the 2024 Honda Accord hybrid Touring and I can't say anything bad about it. I love it. It's the best car I've ever drove very smooth and quiet and fuel mileage is GREAT!
While I prefer the exterior look of the Accord over the Camry, the lack of AWD, No rear HVAC , no panaromic sunroof and the dull Black only Accord interior makes the Camry a better option for me.
I actually prefer the more conservative looks of the Accord, and the rear seat legroom is excellent if it's the same as my parents' '21 Accord (I believe interior room is identical). But the availability of AWD is definitely an advantage for Toyota.
@carhelpcorner does the quilted-pattern looking cloth door&dash trim on the Camry XLE look better in person? Because on camera it looks cheesy beyond belief.
Can't go wrong with either of these. The only difference is that the Camry has CVT so you may not like it when accelerating. The Accord mostly drives by the motor, so it's quieter.
I think the Camry is a slightly better car for the money, but I don't like the honeycomb nose on the XSE or the new taillights. The Accord feels more like a luxury car, while the Camry feels a little more sporty. For my family, the decision is to get one of each.
You only get the honeycomb grill on the higher trims
Which trim do you recommend from le xle & se
I wish my recently purchased Accord, 2020 had a smoother powertain. You do hear when the gas engine kicks in. But that is my only complaint. I look initially for a used hybrid camry. But every single one that I found on the market, had shown evidence of a previous accident to that vehicle. Which led me to believe that the only reason the previous owner turned it in, was because it had been in an accident. The Honda hybrids were rare to find, but at least each one I did find had or was in very good non-accident shape.
Great review. Loved the point that paying 30k extra doesn't really get you that much more anymore. These non luxury cars have upped their game big time.
When do they release? Cant wait to get my hands on them!
Excellent thorough and practical comparison... I agree, the Camry is the better overall value, but the Accord does have some better design features and ride quality... only slightly though.
I think the Camry is a slightly better car, but the ride quality of the Accord is next level compared to the Camry (comparing my 2021 Camry XSE to 2023 Accord Touring).
Thank you!
Thanks for the metric system and Canadian currency….
I am not in the market for a new car but I am so happy that I purchased a 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE! I purchased it new and now have 60,000 miles on it with an overall 52.1 miles per gallon. It is a fabulous car!
Camry vs Accord ? Choose one ! You cannot go wrong with either choice. These are the best sedans for the money.
I've always preferred the Accord over the Camry, but I feel that the current Accord feels decontented compared to previous models. The hybrid version is definitely the model to get, and according to sales, most consumers prefer the Accord Hybrid over the regular Accord. I'm sure that the next generation Accord will be all hybrid, just like the Camry.
The Camry 💯. It’s a nice car and more stylish.
Would appreciate commentary on handling like ride and body roll
From other reviews I’ve watched, and that’s about 10 videos or so from other reviewers here on UA-cam.. they’ve consistently said that handling is really good and body roll is excellent when cornering as well. 🤙
That's another win for the Camry!! awesome!! Very good detailed review on both cars. The Camry is much better value in Canada also then the Accord. You get so many convenient features on the mid trims that are not on the Accord.
On a personal note, I much prefer the styling of the Camry over the boring , no imagination looking Accord.
I chose Honda because Toyota dealership experience...too proud and too greedy.
So what you save on fuel, will be made c up in the cost of the battery
The Camry wins for all the wrong reasons imo....i would much rather lose this comparison but have a better drive experiences, hybrid experiences, and more spacious, I'd take the Honda
Between the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, the only time the Accord was better than the Camry was back in 1990-1993 years. Outside of these years the Camry was consistently better every level. Overall, Toyota Camry is one of best family sedan of all time. Built very solidly even if it was built outside of Japan which is pretty amazing.
Does anyone knows how many miles each hybrid engine will last? 150k-200k? After that, it needs to get replaced be a new car? I don't know anything about reliability of hybrid engines.
I recommend the channel 'car care nut' for everything on reliablilty and problems with Toyotas
@@derkies2133 thanks!
The Accord is much more aesthetically pleasing, but only if you have taste in classy cars.
If I were looking at these two cars, I’d want to drive them before making my choice, but that Toyota hybrid sure looks like a good value.
Wondering if Mazda is still making the “6”? No hybrid, but a great driving car.
First model year of the Camry for this gen, is it worth it to wait for 2026?
how much is Insurance ?
I would have said Camry, but the CVT is a deal breaker. The previous accord looked much better than the current one. Ideally, because of the CVT transmission, I wouldn't buy the the camry or the hybrid accord, but at least the non-hybrid accord has a regular automatic transmission whereas the camry us CVT only across the range.
But the eCVT in Toyota hybrids is a totally bulletproof reliable planetary gearset. Why would that be a deal breaker?
Honda does not have a transmission. That means one less thing to worry about.
@carhelpcorner it is bulletproof, but I just personally hate the way they feel.
@myytchannel6632 CVT transmissions are notoriously unreliable longevity wise, especially the ones Nissan has. But if I absolutely had to have one, I'd get the camry because of the planetary gear setup.
@@myytchannel6632Yes it does, with a clutch.
I’ve owned an ‘87 Camry for almost 22 years now. I’ve also leased a 2019 Camry. Honestly they are amazing cars. The ‘87 still has the original engine and transaxle with 260,000 miles. The fuel pump is original. The original starter was replaced about 2 years ago. I was still able to get a factory reman from a Toyota dealer and it took about 15 minutes to replace. While I love the simplicity of the ‘87, the safety features on the 2019 are night and day.
I’ve also owned Toyota hybrids and if you’re going to get a hybrid, Toyota has the best system by far. Honda makes a great car too. At the end of the day, it boils down to personal preference when it comes down to Toyota versus Honda. If you plan on keeping your car for decades like I have, it might be worth considering a car that has sold more in volume so that you have more options for aftermarket parts when you can’t get it from the dealer anymore.
I love driving. I'll take the Accord.
If you want better driving dynamics, go with the Accord.
This is a good review because these have been the class leaders for decades. I agree with the review for all the same reasons - parts availability down the road should be good on Honda but Toyota will lead the pack because no doubt they share parts with other models - Toyota just makes so many more car models. The fact that you have the option of AWD, A Panoramic Moonroof, and different colour seats (White, Black, Brown, Red vs Black in the Honda. I think this gives the Camry a fairly decisive advantage - AWD in the snow on all-seasons does help - people like seats that aren't black and I believe that Toyota also offers more exterior colours.
I wish they both came as a lift back like the Kia Stinger - I think it's a more user friendly trunk space than a trunk - but perhaps they want to sell you an SUV for that.
Just put a deposit down on a 2025 Camry in production. I spent a LOT of time deciding between these 2.
Toyota waited to follow Honda on a lot of areas and add what most consumer wants especially for styling, sport trims with better suspension, panoramic roofs and awd. Now Honda’s hybrid is more refined by miles compared to the Camry.
Maybe Honda can bring back the 2.0 T that so many people loved? Since Toyota is only offering the Camry as a hybrid. Maybe this could be an advantage for Honda to offer both even though this Camry might be better.
Not likely the take rate was low, so they’d rather put them to use in products that sell exponentially better.
2.0T was not selling well honestly.
@@MrA-ir3me I know, just wishful thinking.
I totally agree. Love my '21 Accord Touring 2.0T. For all of you saying the 2.0T didn't sell well, Honda did in fact sell approximately 220k Accords between '18 - '22 with that engine option. May not be super high volume but hardly an insignificant amount. Not sure of the Camry V6 model sales but a lot of folks chose that engine also.
I have a 2005 honda accord v 6 3.0 engine
Love my car.
It's a very smooth driving car.
Now let's talk about a few things. For any all wheel car. When it comes do buying tires.
You have to buy all 4 tires instead of two.
Remember the hybrid is a battery.
In the winter you would have to replace the hybrid battery more often.
Me personality I would stick with gas vehicles not electric vehicles or hybrid either.
I test drove both and recently bought the Honda Accord Hybrid sport. The deal breaker for me is the Accord seat design has lumbar support feature. I wanted a car that I didn't feel like I had strained my back to get out. I appreciate your fair assessment, but overall the difference to me is the question of, "what do I need"? Have a great day!
I’m confused, because the Camry has power adjustable lumbar support.
2024 Accord is more spacious - much better headroom and leg room -though the low side of the dashboard is still too low. 2024 Accord design is classy.
Newer Camry interiors are much tighter compared with my very spacious 2003 LE.
I am surely going with camery 25 soon
I believe Toyota Japan has discontinued the Camry for their local market... Being Australian this might lead to extremely long wait times... I have a 2022 SX Camry I might need to change to an RAV4 which has its wait times reduced to 8 - 12 months for some models... As always these reviews I take to see what each car has... We all need to test drive both for at least 24 hrs each to make a choice. In Australia Honda is on its last legs... Toyota has service centres everywhere and anywhere.
Going hybrid isn’t a good thing for people that don’t drive that much, yet are being forced to by one
Bad decision
Title of the video should be splitting hairs. I've only owned Hondas and Toyotas. I prefer the feeling of having more space. On my just purchased CRV which came with cloth seats, I purchased aftermarket synthetic leather seat covers. Everyone thinks it's leather (because it smells like leather) and don't notice they're seat covers.
Js. I would get an XLE with a panoramic moon roof and call it a day. XLE and above come with 6 JBL speakers that’s all I NEED!
Camry hybrid can't be beat but the Accord is pretty nice too and probably a higher quality interior.
No one is factoring in that Toyota has the lowest days supply of any OEM. So, good luck trying to find a Camry Hybrid. And expect to pay a hefty Market Adjustment
I was very tempted to talk about this but it will likely be a temporary issue.
I've had a 1991 accord EX and currently am driving a 2017 Accord Sport. Give me my 91' back!
One thing about Honda that really stands out from Toyota is HANDLING. If you truly enjoy driving and like to push it a little when necessary, Honda really stands out for its handling, cornering, nimble and tight control with precise predictability.
I would like to see a camry wagon, a proper wagon with a longer wheelbase and 5-6 feet of deck behind the rear seats.
An economical wagon below 40 thousand, I don't want the luxury crown signia and the rav is also too short.
i would naturally always go for the camry. but the accord deff would be my second pick if i couldnt get this camry.
The Interior in the Accord looks better but the exterior on the Camry looks better (but not much better)
Not offering cloth seats is a big mistake. Lots of people like myself still prefer them .
I will still go with Accord because of design and engine
Been buying Toyota and Honda since the early 60's. I can't say which one is better. I usually kept them for around 17 years or so and sold them while still working fine. I will be buying a new Toyota Camry LXE 2025, because of the new style and our old 2008 doesn't have the safety features we want. We're getting up there, actually we're already there, just want to stay there a little longer.😁
Honda reliability below average now. Check JD Power reliable vehicle list for 2024. Lexus and Toyota killing it. This is coming from a 2008 Civic owner with 0 problems.
2018 was the only exciting generation of Camry in terms of styling. Now they’ve run it through the vanilla factory. These are cars you buy if your soul has been evacuated from your body.
This is the first time having a Honda (HRV). Toyota, you get what you pay for. My toyota pickup was very reliable. I get more car with Honda. I've had Honda motorcycles which are reliable. Toyotas are expensive. Now you bring the car to the shop and take out a loan to pay for the repairs/replacement parts. No more playing mechanic. I like choosing what I want. With Honda, I chose front wheel 2.0 aspirated motor. Wish the transmission had gears.
I've had two Camry's and one Prius. All three were great with one exception. The seats in all three were the most uncomfortable I've ever sat in. It felt like the cushions were almost non-existent and after even an hour's worth of driving it felt like I was riding on the floorboards. Hopefully Toyota has corrected this. If so, I would definitely buy another.
Hard seats are ideal for people with back problems. I love the RAV4 seats. So it all depends..
@@stanleetfk3823 My butt would vehemently disagree with you😁
The accord not having a 360 camera might be a deciding factor for me.
I can care less about pano roof, but not having 360 camera in 2024 is bullshit, especially this is a midsize sedan(not a compact sedan) and all other competitors offer one like Toyota, Hyundai and Kia. But other than the 360 camera, the Accord is almost perfect in my opinion(I don't need 2.0T), except the front fascia could be better.
ha ha, important piece of information missed is that the base Honda Accord is a TURBOCHARGED engine, lol.
It's too bad Toyota's snowplow grille infected the SE trim line. I would have gotten the SE to avoid the snowplow. I like Honda's Audi design but wish they had the hybrid in the base model (LX - when I started buying Hondas, there was the "base model", then DX, and then LX).
6 of one, half a dozen of the other. They're close, and likely the choice will come down to brand loyalty or some sort of quirky subjective preference.
The Accord looks like Honda stopped trying to make their cars look nice. Literally zero design.
2 years ago it was the Accord.
The 2025 redesigned Camry changes everything.
Especially with the price on the lowest models.
FYI
Yota definitely used some design/parts from the previous gen.
They used A LOT of parts from the last generation.
And I liked sunny Californian weather much more than crappie Ontario one.😂😂😂
the accord might be a more attractive deal for those who dont want to go hybrid yet.
Lol yeah good luck with that 1.5L turbo engine long term! 👍🏻
The Accord looks like a VW Passat mashed with some Audi. Is anyone else seeing this?
It's funny. While Honda did a redesign, it looks like they phoned it in. Toyota didn't fix 2hat wasn't broken, and it added things it was behind on and made the better overall car. I've been a Honda guy for years, but Camry takes this round for the first time ever. I like this Camry a LOT.
Toyota by a country mile. Especially in light of the recent issues with the automatic emergency brake system on the Accord.
I keep saying that the 2025 Camry should’ve had the Avalon taillights and that’s chef’s kiss.
Consumers losing 2 options with the Camry is never a good thing!
I LIKE THE V6😢😂❤
You didn’t talk about gas mileage. I am leaning towards the Camry if the mileage is significantly better. Toyotas tend to get the mileage. They advertise and Hondas tend to not get theirs.
My next purchase will be a 2025 Camry LE.
