Only downfall to this method is that it doesn't give you much muscle memory to compensate that you have to constantly push the rod in, because you know you have less rod as it burns.
As a welding instructor I had a few students had trouble with the vertical pass! On the blackboard I drew a 3d view of 2 bevels. Holding a piece of chalk between index finger and middle finger. Making the root pass 2 filler pass stopping short of end of root pass them make the cap pass stopping short of the filler pass. Then going to the welding booth. They were surprised to see the puddle of the weld resembling the chalk passes! Great video!
Honestly, I wish our instructor had considered something like what was shown in the video, or even the chalk method, to help some of the guys in class who struggled with the technique. I really dig the idea of actually using a stinger to hold the marker though, eliminates one thing guys like me overthink on by aligning it that much closer to how it would feel while doing an actual weld.

A majority of the welding community is known to be full of toxic jealous haters if that's your dream you may still pursue it even tho i am just a random person on the internet I think you sharing that story was enough for me to encourage you
Able to wield metal is a skill most people pay for it to be done. You can learn it and don't let any shitty teacher or student make you feel worse about your skill. It's you who has to build your life

Знаете немного тоже варю ,купил сварку домой и тоже пытаюсь,так петли приварю,страшно некрасиво ,но неотвалится,но все таки теорию так думаю знать немешало бы. Ато непойму что там происходит под маской )))
@@predatoras8412 самый лучший вариант поработать с мастером, чтобы он взял вашу руку с электрододержателем и наяву вы сразу поймёте что да как. Он вам сразу покажет где металл где шлак ,где не надо спешить и прочие детали.

Хороше відео. Але.. Доки не навчися відрізняти метал, в зварювальній ван,і від шлаку по кольору і механічним властивостям (текучість, в'язкість)- зварювати буде складно. Так, в сюжеті показаний чудовий спосіб тренування координації рухів. Але лише практика навчит тебе тримати правильно дугу, а нею метал. І лише тоді можна буде щось говорити про якісне зварювання.

Looked like some birds got into the workshop on the first two, if you fill the sides for longer you can eliminate the massive undercut, most welding applications on site are vertical or overhead and you can rarely choose which direction to weld my preference is the Christmas tree going up but also almost stopping on the sides to fill the pool. Great video keep it up
yeah its like a dance step with a metronome for cadence 1,2,3,4,2,2,3,4,3,2,3,4,4,2,3,4,5... but use your run in/out tabs and set a good ledge of tacks to hold the molten puddle in place as you establish the climb...
20 year boilermaker here! Not bad, try inposition welding for a challenge! Free hand Tig, no walking the cup! You really want stacked dime's! Your zig zag up hill, count to three, move over no up go back fast and the go over again and up hold three count! Really you want to watch puddle but a three count will do! Then do that overhead LMAO

i agree, i always started apprentices's second day with only their non dominant hand and as soon as they get the hang of it with steel i put then onto aluminum and work them at aluminum before i let them continue with steel..

This is a good non verbal teaching but is there a difference in each method that would make one used over another. Looks wise they are all basically the same, is using one or another a better or stronger weld or just a matter of individual choice. All are better than my early attempts which involved Buzz, Flash, stick, bend and pulling the weld bench across the floor. Lol

So as someone that has been welding professionally for 16 years and have sort of maxed out my skill set I just do the first one there al the same in the long run but stringers are better then weave tho I'll argue that all day and I'm sure there is plenty of data to back it up

I hope your instructor also told you to delay on the edges. Watching this I don't care what weave he uses it's going to be undercut and crowned over.

Yeah most of these are either welding top to bottom or done with the plates laying flat on the table. Gravity doesn't lie when it comes to welding.
Tbh they look like they were welded uphill on a slight angle.
But not on a 90 degree vertical

I excelled at TIG, MIG was a cake walk. Always struggled with Arc because your rod length/angle is always changing.

Используя при этом электроды Kobelco, Nittetsu,или Esab ok 74 70.
Ну электроды с основными покрытием сложновато для начала , пойдет для навыка и ок-46-00

So as someone that has been welding professionally for 16 years and have sort of maxed out my skill set I just do the first one there al the same in the long run but stringers are better then weave tho I'll argue that all day and I'm sure there is plenty of data to back it up
