Oops. At 8:20 Greg contradicts his own rule (2. on page 13), "but only against adjacent Approach Circles to the front of the convoy" as is explained in the Historical Note following . 😊
Been a fan of Greg Smith's games for some time...the biggest weakness is always the rule book. With that in mind, this video could use pop up references to the rules. For instance, I am on my second convoy (first had no encounters) and ran into a 7 boat wolfpack. I found the detection sequence confusing and I am at the point where the u boats attack (maybe...three of the first wave were damaged in detection attacks, need to check rules on damaged subs attempting attack). At this point I have not seen a roll for range in the rules (assume it is coming up) but the video shows Greg rolling for range11:43 right after a failed detection check. So my scenario: escorts detect the subs, attack and damage all three no range check so far. Bottom Line: Clarification of the play through with rule reference pop ups would be helpful. (and why do I remember Morton Salt "when it rains it pours" but not the word for text on a video screen😏?!)
I wish there was more options to select the make-up of the convoys. An option to select large or small tankers and freighters and the ability to select the location of the ships within the convoy.
There's nothing stopping you from coming up with a system of your own, or even just randomizing things differently. It's a solo game, so you can do whatever you feel will make the game even more immersive for you! If you come up with some neat ideas be sure to share them with everyone!
I believe it is Compass Games policy to have someone develop a VASSAL module but it is not available immediately upon release... I think 6 months down the track the module is released and it will generally not include charts.
Yes, the vassal module has been developed, as you see in all of these Learn to Play videos. They are released 3 months post game release per Compass policy.

So cool that this integrates with The Hunters (and presumably therefore The Hunted?). Looking forward to giving it a go.
Thank you for posting this. I just got this in the mail.
Perfect timing Jay, enjoy the game!

Thanks for the suggestion!

Creating a system to do this is trivial. I could create a sophisticated ship selection system in less than an hour.

Greg, did we miss the roll for air support on this daylight attack around the 11-12 min mark?
Have found a video on how to play the game in Vassal, but can't find the game in Vassal. Have ordered the game which just shipped.

Just got this yesterday. Saturday the 27th. Thank you thank you thank you thank you.

Perfect, hope it helps Charles!
How are you using a PC screen to demo this? Have you created a module for Vassal, thought I don't see it listed, perhaps just not yet ? ?
The vassal modules for Compass Games titles come out three months after the release of the game, as per Compass policy.
I want to know what happened to the condor. There should be a CAM interception table.
Create one. House rules. 1-4 Condor is spashed. One VP given.
