You know how people often say “the only good thing about so-and-so”, they’re usually exaggerating. In this case, this literally is the ONLY good thing about this game.
If they would have focused on polishing cheetahmen, it would have turned out decent. I’m an aspiring game dev myself, and action 53 is an example of why shovelware is terrible.

Megaman would have had better instrumentals (the song feels kinda empty compared to something like say Quick Man or MM2 Wily 1) but the melody is top tier
the amazing part is, the best part of the song is carried on just ONE CHANNEL. the first part of the song uses the full three typical of an 8-bit song. but the backgrounds drop off and leaves just the primary channel to carry the whole song and boy does it ROCK.

I like how the composer implemented a kind of "phase shift" thing where certain frequencies of sound decrease in volume and clarity for a bit; a kind of thing that even now only a few composers do, and this was way before its time. If only the action 52 team was better at making games, and the composer for this song wrote a ton more.
2:08 sounds like exactly the moment when they went over-budget and had to pad the sound file with an overly long beat box segment... and the rest of the cartridge with junk.

This is probably one of the most catchy songs on the NES, I'd certainly put it on (or at least near) a top 10 list, below the classics like Castlevania and Mega Man... Surprising that such an AWFUL game also had a pretty legendary tune.

Basically, you'd be playing the same game over and over, but with differently styled levels, music, and art. When you're limited to NES colours/soundbytes, it's not that hard to churn out tunes constantly. Still, this tune is solid gold...
F to the poor composer that made this amazing track and it gets recognized by being the soundtrack for one of the worst games in history. The saddest part is that this is all 8-bit, and that's incredibly hard to compose with.
