I’m loving all of these interior design videos!
I would love a video on decorating around wood paneling! Whether it’s painting over fake wood paneling, restraining real wood paneling, or just what colors to use to decorate that aren’t going to clash with the typical orange or sand colored paneling that is so common. How to decorate when the paneling is on the ceiling and what light fixtures to use. How to decorate when it’s on the wall, what things should you hang on it. What type of flooring would look best?
There’s a home we are looking into that has paneling EVERYWHERE. It’s real wood and hand installed by a great grandfather of ours who built the home. It looks like it’s straight out of a 1950’s knotty pine kitchen ad. They haven’t updated it since 1963. How do you honor the history of a home but update it to make it personalized?
Great ideas! Honestly, if it’s not your style I would paint right over it. That’s the more cost effective and inspiring solution vs. purchasing furniture and decor to match it if you don’t LOVE it.

Excellent ideas to zhush up a rental. Two tweaks:
- Be careful with peel and stick wallpaper and the type of wall it is. If the drywall isn’t done well, the peel and stick wallpaper will rip off the paint and drywall, and you’ll have a repair job on your hands.
- Check with your landlord before painting walls and hanging window treatments. Corporate managed buildings do not allow painting, and they also have requirements on the window treatments that face the outside of the window.

Please do a tutorial on apartment/home design for landlords. Would love your ideas for design and best materials to use to endure tenant use and enjoyment. This would also help to gain new types of subscribers that really struggle with this issue. Most channels give suggestions and tips from other landlords or property managers. Having an interior decorators tips would be awesome. I would like to know how to best offer a rental for the best price for landlord and also providing best enjoyment for tenants. Thanks!

Some great tips! As a landlord I wish renters would think of their space as their home and not just a rental. I love the idea of using area rugs, plants, window treatments, additional lighting and shelves. But a no to renters painting 😬🙂

In your opinion what would be the best way to put up new window treatments? (Least damage) my fiancé is wanting some curtains for his game room for during the day when it’s bright but we don’t want to cause any trouble for our landlord
@@amberpants771 I would contact your landlord and ask what their preference is. They might want them in the wall, wood trim or to use heavy duty command hooks. A lot depends on wall material (drywall or plaster) type of window ( inset or flush) how often they paint and how long you’ve lived there. In addition, if you’ve been stellar tenants (pay on time, quiet, and keep your home clean and tidy) they might spring for window coverings🤞Trust me many landlords will negotiate with very good tenants.
It's funny I should see this today as I just got through purchasing a piece of furniture and some décor items recently that I've wanted for a long time. I don't have a lot of money so I mull over every purchase to make sure it will be of value to me in the long term. I rent so my decorating options are not as vast as I would like either. This video helped a great deal. Thank you.

This is exactly what I needed. My sister and I live together and haven't done a thing to our living space and we need to. We both feel like we have so many ideas, but what should and can we actually do in our space. We also need to do this for our mental health too because looking at old walls with layers of white chipped paint on them and the trim and old cabinetry is depressing. We know the maintenance didn't do much to prepare for us moving. We can paint our walls and various upgrades so that is good for us. I was looking into the peel and stick wall and flooring already and your video just helped us with our decision thank you! What could I do for old cabinetry that we can't paint besides adding new knobs? Would the peel and stick work on the flat side of cabinetry you know the side of the cabinet without the door? I thought that maybe the cloth and cornstarch but that has maybe too much moisture in it. What do you suggest?

Then I found a cute little 2BR 2BA rental apt with an attached garage in a nice apartment complex. I’ve been here 5 years and still enjoy the apt but think a Feng Shui design pro could help me create a healthier flow with my furnishings. How do I find someone good near me?
