hi barry the bumper is looking very good well dun
You are supposed to use those waffle like wave washers that go between the bumper & the brackets the prevent the bumper surface from sucking down. You had that problem when you mounted the rear bumper
Thanks for the info.on the bumper. I've always started by attaching fender brackets first, then install 1 nut and bolt nearest to center
Works well with installation
I’m downloading this video, because I have no internet in my barn.
Lookin' good Barry!
Worked perfectly. Thank Jo. Really appreciate all your help.
I used neoprene washers and they worked out well.
Shaved bumpers always look nice. I have 2, so I may experiment with that.
I have used gasket material between the paint and the part being bolted on
Bumper looks awesome Barry
When I built my car, I put rubber tape between parts, all over the place. It is an anti squeak thing for me.
Think when I put a new front bumper on my car back in the 80s I just gave up on those side brackets. When I get around to replacing it again, I will certainly try this trick.
That's a big gap!
Some great tips Barry, looking beautiful, thank you
My bumper is a lot worse than yours. I have nothing to loose so I am going to give it a try with the strap. But first I have to pull the inner brackets off and grind down as I can't even get the bumper to slide in to get the bolts on. Did I mention I hate aftermarket CRAP!
Still love the way ya work around issues.
Keen for more vids and to see Jade hit the streets.
You must have purchased the same “CJ Classics” bumper from CJ pony parts as I did. I have the same problem, I will try your method. Thanks
Great tip Barry! I got the same problem. I'll give your method a go. I was going to make my own bracket, use longer bolt and pack it with washers.
they make the rubber bolt nut for that bumper to finder bracket
Jo Daddy, Jade looking good++++
Looks like you forgot the wave type washers under the bumper but it looks great 👍
nothing is ever "simple/easy" Barry.. you of all people should know that by now lol. excellent work on that bumper though.. i honestly wouldn't have thought to try that.. my first thought was, well that sucks.. time to cut/weld/re-chrome.. mine didn't fit all that great either, so before pain i'll have to do something.
Great work!!! Way better!!!!
But you didn’t show how you got the fender / bumper bolts done! 😩
I have a 68 fastback. I can only get to 2 out of the 6 front bumper bolts removed. In your video the bolts under the headlights are so easy to remove. Mine are totally blocked.
Did you remove the valance panel?
@@JoDaddysGarage Nope. That must be required? Thank you
It will help for sure.
Did you have the spring washers that go under the nut ?
I don’t remember for sure.
Kinda like they done it in nascar for years before templates
