Interesting face: a lot of people do not have an internal monologue, and most of those people do not talk to themselves. Watched a documentary on that not long ago. People with internal monologue and that talk to themselves tend to be much more artistic and insightful.
I always talk to my cats! (At home.) I work in a Animal Shelter and talk to the cats there, all day too! Sometimes I am walking down the hall (at work) and find myself talking to myself and realize, oops, there are no cats around me! 😊🤗😒😉
@@annauncharted I don't remember. I'm sure there are more than one of them. I remember there was a live youtube chat about it and about the possibility that life may be a simulation and some people you meet are "non player characters" similar to some video games like Legends of Zelda or Super Mario. Really interesting stuff.
I love how you went to the different islands. Your step by step helps me a lot to understand how to reserve a spot on the ferry. I love how you film your videos Anna. They are like mini movies. I wish you and your doggie a happy and peaceful Sunday. Keep up the great work Anna. You have the best van life UA-cam channel!
I loved your “descent on bend” comment on the end it made me crack up. I have been watching your videos for a while now they bring up my spirits. My wife of 52 years passed a month and a half ago. Since then I got a Wbg pocket van to take on 2-3 day trips. The beauty of your videos and your sincereness in grief as well as in joy have me hooked on your videos. Keep it up but don’t let it stress you out.
One thing I loved about living in the Pacific Northwest was the way people thought about their local ferries... fondly, and with respect, and wasn't that nice. We loved them. I lived near the terminals, and the hoots of the arriving and departing ferries were like uninvited guests crashing in on our conversations. I remember driving everywhere exploring islands, mornings with eagles and orcas, and just wishing I had someone to explore and walk and share it with... I remember sending prayers that someone maybe in the future would see these everyday beauties too and appreciate them, and that that would be a special sharing for me across time... Anna, you have fulfilled my request, in this video, thank you, one of your best. You're developing your unique style of storytelling to a fine polish. Your life, in the same way. Shine on!
Your explanations of ferry system was great. I rode them every day for 2 years and its such a fabulous way to travel isn't it? That corner of the world holds my heart and you have opened mind and I have changed my travel plans again.
Hi Anna! Life as an introvert has a lot of obstacles but some how we get through (or around) them. I have canceled more social gatherings than I can remember. I have generalized anxiety disorder and believe me, it SUCKS! But, the up side is that I don't mind being alone! Such beautiful scenery in the Northwest. The next time someone stares at you...stare back until they stop! It freaks them out-lol! I am sure it takes a lot of time and effort to give us a short video but we thank you guys! loved Maddie's cameo appearance! See ya and stay safe!
I enjoy watching your videos because I’m an introvert and have trouble doing new things. You explain things in a calming voice and do what’s intimidating to you. I travel in my van part time now but will do more in a few years. I do not go to large gatherings ever, but I probably would do the same and get a ticket and not go. I’ve been staying with friends this week and I’m way stressed about all the human contact I’ve had. It’s draining I need alone time to recharge. Those islands look amazing and will definitely check them out when I’m on the west coast again.
Anna love the 2 finger wave as You pass bye. Also, we all struggle With the same things in life. That's How are brains work and yours is Better than most, trust me.
What memories your video has brought back! I was stationed in Whidbey Is for 4 years while in the Navy 93 to 97. I haven't been able to be back since but hope to again. Hope all is well with you and your Mom.
Such a moving most beautiful vlog, often which makes it difficult for me to post comments Your gentle spirit and prose is probably largely to do with the glorious books you read, and your unique way of expressing yourself. This is my love for all your videos. We have a motor catamaran; Julie my twin and I have navigation qualifications, embark to our Mediterranean islands. Your filming moved me deeply. Thank you so much! ☺️ 💜
0:57 mark: I'm happy to see my home (Vancouver Island) on the video, even if it is just the other-colored part of the map. I've gotten so used to thinking in terms of separated countries, and a map like this shows just how close the islands of two neighbors really are. One big similar laid-back region :) Thanks Anna, for your video, and for always making me think and smile.
Anna, Loving your narration and your creative film ideas. You have become, and continue to be, a wonderful film maker. Don't put too much pressure on yourself - Just be you.
I recently watched a past video where you lost a free campsite because you ran into town. I also subscribe to Catherine Gregory. She has a truck camper. When she leaves her site to go on a day hike she puts up a small tent and sets up two chairs. It reserves her spot until she returns after a hike or trip to town. I love your content and your style. Have fun.
It's funny that you mention indecision and choice paralysis as being a downside of van life. I'm still aspiring to it myself, so I don't have any experience, but one of the reasons I'm attracted to the lifestyle is the freedom of choice, not having to "be" at a set physical location at a set time every day. Of course there are still responsibilities, but being (relatively) free to drive in any direction I want sounds incredibly liberating to me. Perhaps, once I actually get on the road, I will experience it differently.
I think it’s definitely a wonderful thing some of the time on some of the days and not so wonderful at other times on other days… I certainly don’t take it for granted and I do appreciate the freedoms and having choices-it just does get overwhelming some of the time and that’s okay. life is certainly a very mixed bag 🙂
I have been backtracking and watching your videos from the past since I subscribed to your Channel. I have a feeling by far this will be one of my best. I've always wanted to visit the Northwest, and when I saw you traveling to the islands and of course riding the ferry it is trusted me even more. I have written a very many times with a car and with a motorcycle, it is highly recommended!
I grew up in Tacoma so I love to see you hanging out in Washington state! Brings back the memories. I took my share of ferry rides as a kid, it is fun!
Sigh...I'm always at least a day late to your posts, yet you always get back to me. Thanks for that. Of the Trio- You, Maddie and Mariah - I identify most closely with your vids. We seem to be similar spirits. I'm grateful. Enjoy! (Update below, if you're interested.) For the past several weeks, I've been in San Diego. Not really occupied, but having fun - snorkeling, mountain and desert camping, enjoying the new hammock, discovering new beaches. I came with the intent of filling up my UA-cam channel, yet, here I am with a hatful of memories and about five minutes of video. Maybe the blog is a better venue for me. Maybe... Thanks for everything. ~Sonny
Ok, this video is great and I love to see and hear about your adventures but I have to say that your bloopers are just such first class material! 😂 Love to see your personality come out even more there. Thanks for sharing, Anna! 💗
I'm quite late to this video, but am a vanlifer and currently trying to decide if we should go to the San Juan islands and am feeling.. you guessed it- indecisive! haha. there are SO many decisions to be made constantly, it is fully exhausting.
So glad you got to experience our part of the world during the nice weather. It's cold & rainy here now in mid Dec. Happy Holidays! Good choice on visiting Lopez.
It is always a therapy session to watch your videos. You are so refreshing. Love those islands. It is a trancendental heaven. Stay Healthy and Keep Going!
I'm glad I found your channel , your videos are good and your voice is very calming , I've been van living since retirement 8 years now minus 1 year traveling in Thailand . Presently switching from a van to a truck camper , try that for awhile .
I agree that creativity on demand is difficult. The best moments of creativity are organic, but in reality, many creative moments combine are a result of a plan and execution. 📝📓📷
I regret not going to the San Juan Islands after my own Olympic trip after seeing all the amazing visuals you and the rest of the ladies have posted. Thanks for letting me live vicariously though! I was at Descend on Bend, and it was amazing. The first sense of community I've felt in a long time.
Lord I love your bloopers, they never fail to make me smile. That's the way I use to be in my many years of driving truck. LOL! Thank you for sharing your life and adventures. Safe travels. 😊🐾
Your storytelling is a beautiful gift and I always selfishly wish your videos were longer. You're on a beautiful island walking in nature while I'm dodging cars and breath exhaust fumes. I'm so jealous! LOL
Hey Anna, thanks for the vids and the effort you put into them. I can appreciate the time and anxiety of it all. When you’re doing that brilliant British accent you sound like an Australian (like me) sometimes. Very talented. Ha. Love it. 🇦🇺
Hi Anna, I'm sure it must be tough to come up with video ideas, and I LOVE your videos......but your bloopers at the end.....priceless! I love your English-speaking speaking voice. This was a beautifully made video. I have been to Whidbey a few times but never explored. Thank you for sharing. Its not just you. Descend sounds fun but too many people for me. I prefer alone, one on one, or a small gathering. The RTR is too busy for me. Enjoy!
My husband watched your video with me for the first time & asked "is that common?" I asked "is what common?" Him: "People who have a nervous laugh?" Me: "I never paid attention to it." Now I notice it ALL of the time. Is that what it really is? I think I do this also...maybe that's why I never noticed that you do it often also. Regardless, I LOVE your channel & I've been watching you for a while. Also, I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND THE NOT GOING TO DESCEND. THAT'S ME ALSO! I make plans, the day arrives to do whatever I planned & I make every excuse NOT to go. I was diagnosed with agoraphobia years ago along with anxiety & panic attacks. I was initially prescribed medications but they made me feel like a zombie & totally disconnected from my close family/friends so I stopped taking them & just manage with natural things such as diet change, unplugging from all things electronic, exercise, meditation, cooking is a great therapy for me & finally getting to the core of why/what made me like this because I used to be a huge social butterfly. I have been told I am a much better, easier person to deal with now & I feel the same way about myself. I do what I can & don't beat myself up about what I can't do. We are all different & unique in our own way & that's what makes life so beautiful 😍. I thoroughly enjoy being alone. I love being with just ME. I don't depend on anyone or anything to make me whole, loved or happy. Love being w/ just YOU & stay safe! 💗
That was awesome! I kinda miss ferry rides. My dad worked on the ferry here in Vt when I was little, but I think I've only ever driven on one myself once!
My brother talks of some of the islands. He lives in Victoria, British Columbia. I hope you get to go to Vancouver Island someday. The Blackball ferry goes there from Port Angeles. You can also take a ferry from Seattle and go all the way up the Alaska coastline. You see the same things that you see on a cruise ship but pay only a fraction of the price. They even have cabins, if you want one.
I LOVE watching your videos! Makes me wanna try van/car life so bad! But for now living through your experiences will be good enough! (: Stay up and stay happy! #positivevibes
Some more lovely and cinematic sequences. I'm glad that the seagulls didn't take down the drone ;-). You don't need to mock or be hard on yourself, the chatting is charming, as is the British accent. Did you watch Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for inspiration? Keep up the engaging work and life ❤️
Too many options stresses me out, it makes me thankful for all of them but I feel I get like decision fatigue? 🙃 And lose half my brain to overthinking everything.. basically your not alone on that one ❤️
You’re living your best life now. Having a house and living a “normal life” is overrated. I want to travel alone but I always was with someone. Do you find yourself lonely sometimes and wish I could share that sunset with someone? I’m curious what your mind set is on that?

Anna how much Ah or Wh does ur fridge consume per day? do u unplug it at night? im debating between a 3.1 cu ft Magic Chef (120v) or Alpicool T60 (12v). (no solar yet, only 40A Renogy DC-DC)
I dont unplug my fridge at night…it has an energy star rating but I don’t remember off the top of my head what it draws from my batteries daily…🤔 I really have never worried about my fridge at all though having 400 watts of solar panels on my roof and then having two deep cycle hybrid gel batteries (200Ah each)
It's not just you, I've been debating if mobile life is for me because I freeze when I have too many choices. Also I speak to myself in either British or Irish accents all the time. Does that mean I have multiple personalities? 😳
It really changes depending on the week and what video idea it is, where I am at the time…my energy levels haha. So many factors play into it that I don’t have much consistency to give proper data points if that makes sense haha All in all though I imagine I put in the same amount if not more of a standard 40+ hour work week on them.
I think the people I know that are fine being alone all talk to themselves. It’s like having your own best friend everywhere you go!
Interesting face: a lot of people do not have an internal monologue, and most of those people do not talk to themselves. Watched a documentary on that not long ago. People with internal monologue and that talk to themselves tend to be much more artistic and insightful.

Maddie who I follow did that and some rude guy with his daughter took all of her stuff and shoved them behind a tree so he could use her spot!!

Beautiful area. I love the ferry rides. I have taken the ferry across Lake Champlain many times from NY to Vermont.
That was fun. Brought back memories of visiting the islands. Creativity on demand. I can’t imagine how hard that is. Thanks for pushing through :)

Oh okay.. cool!
good video thanks for the information
That trip will go on my Bucket List , How long is the interior of your van, From the seats, to the back door
From the back of my seats to the back doors it’s approximately 10ft in length.
Anna: Its so easy breezy
My brain: lEmOn SqueEzy
You’re living your best life now. Having a house and living a “normal life” is overrated. I want to travel alone but I always was with someone. Do you find yourself lonely sometimes and wish I could share that sunset with someone? I’m curious what your mind set is on that?
Beautiful visuals...thank you for sharing. #Artisbluu
OMG all of your BIG open uncovered mouth yawns SOOO remind me of my daughter. I find it cute, real, and endearing! 🤪

Anna how much Ah or Wh does ur fridge consume per day? do u unplug it at night? im debating between a 3.1 cu ft Magic Chef (120v) or Alpicool T60 (12v). (no solar yet, only 40A Renogy DC-DC)
I dont unplug my fridge at night…it has an energy star rating but I don’t remember off the top of my head what it draws from my batteries daily…🤔
I really have never worried about my fridge at all though having 400 watts of solar panels on my roof and then having two deep cycle hybrid gel batteries (200Ah each)
I love your British accent.
Did you travel with a pup the whole time? Just curious!
Welcome to Whidbey Island
It's not just you, I've been debating if mobile life is for me because I freeze when I have too many choices. Also I speak to myself in either British or Irish accents all the time. Does that mean I have multiple personalities? 😳
No!
But it does mean that you're kinda weird!...like the rest of us!
On average, how many hours do you film, and how long does it take to edit your filming to reach the product that you share on UA-cam?
It really changes depending on the week and what video idea it is, where I am at the time…my energy levels haha. So many factors play into it that I don’t have much consistency to give proper data points if that makes sense haha
All in all though I imagine I put in the same amount if not more of a standard 40+ hour work week on them.
Being indecisive isn't necessarily a forever thing. You'll get practiced at it faster if you don't worry about it. Ask me how I know, hahahaha!
Haha I’ve got a whole lifetime ahead of me to practice 😜
You use a drone for your airial shots?
I use the DJI Mini 2 Drone for all my aerial shots yes!
Your very inspiring:)
