    No. I don’t know what I’m doing either…and I’m 60 :)
I also do a lot of sitting and staring, but I call it ‘sit n ponder’. It’s one of my favorite things to do … even without a van.
I love the art of story telling. Keep on.

Thanks for the video Anna. When you think to yourself, “am I capturing what vanlife is really like?”, I think you need to ask yourself, “why are people watching vanlife videos?”. I think that most people who follow vlogs do so because of the individual who is vloging. You may want to produce the perfect documentary on Single Vanlife, but I think that most viewers are tuning in to watch a reality show about a single person in a van making videos and sharing thoughts. Unless it was very clever content writing, watching you struggle with creating video content is in itself the content many want to see. An example is your outtakes. The outtakes after the main video tell so much story about the monotony and difficulty involved in creating the video and give people more insight into who this Anna chick is. My point is, don’t loose sight of the fact that you creating a story of your experiences isn’t necessarily the same as a story of you trying to keep your shit together living on the road and trying to document it. I think many people are here to watch the process, not the product. That being said, I think your content is constantly improving, and from a technical standpoint it looks very good and that doesn’t just happen. Enjoy your travels Anna. :)

Thanks for this video. As a van dweller for the last 5 years, what is portrayed via #vanlife and the reality of living and travelling in a van is definitely different.
I personally think you are doing a wonderful job at portraying a perspective of living in a van.

Anna you shouldn't worry so much! Everyone has doubts at times! I've watched so many people here that have channels..You are the only one that even really reflects on am I giving a realistic view of life out on the road! It's easy for us all to see that you really do care what you are trying to convey. You are a wonderful person, never question that for a second! You are kind and a refreshing breath in a mass of people on here trying to act like every day is a joy on the road. It can't be, nobody's like is! Just being honest. But I can tell you this, I've been going through crazy time's as of late. And when I need to escape for a while, I look you up! I've been working on a build and will be traveling soon.It would be a honor to even run into you! I've taught people most of my life. But not from a I've got it all down, but I never give up! You have knowledge way beyond your years! Take a breath relax, you are doing just fine! Watched your book video last night and I loved it! Ok,ok and about four other ones! You keep doing you you're a joy! God bless you and keep you! Every moment can't be perfect! But later you will see actually it is!♥️

I just recently started following you and I'm slowly working my way through your videos. I found you through Maddie, who has a similar vibe of making videos. I love how real you are and how honest you are about your struggles and feelings. I did find vanlife through social media and yes, it is romanticized. But watching videos like yours, with less a less of a "documentary" vibe and more of a diary, it really does capture what it is truly like, I feel. I love your videos. I'm also an introvert and I feel like we have a lot in common! Keep doing what you're doing!!

For me, what makes the story worth telling is emotion. "Pale Blue Dot" is a marvelous photo, taken a long time ago, but its story is timeless. What it says to each individual may be different, but there is no doubt that it communicates. Your story communicates, especially if we start from the first video. You are still very near the beginning. Wish I could know you and your story when you're my age. The only thing I can say is, Make it beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us. ~Sonny

I think you do a great job capturing van life. Look at your likes. There are no dislikes. Just do you and enjoy your journey. It's the journey and not the destination. I think you're sense of what a video should be is most definitely expressed artistically and comes across as art. I know you doubt yourself, but you make great videos of artistic value. It's expressing who you are and that's the point, through your art, through your words. That's why we tune in. Don't second guess yourself, you're doing fine.

Dear Anna, this video had me in tears. As a 55 year old looking back on my life, I regret so much. Fear of the unknown, the what ifs of life, kept me from ever committing to anything of value in life. I thought I was keeping myself safe. I settled for a less than life and now all of my choices and their consequences are covering me in a dark shadow. I say all this not to depress but to encourage you. Your brave choice to go and experience life, to follow your dreams and pursue a non-traditional lifestyle which prioritizes people and experiences over a material, self-indulgent “safe” lifestyle is admirable. Your willingness to share your adventures, sharing your story, joys, insecurities , and learning experiences is appreciated. Thank you and God bless as you continue your travels seeing new places, meeting new people, writing your life story.

You are an excellent story teller. Your videos are always interesting.
I'm almost 57 and I still haven't "figured it out."
Sometimes our thoughts & feelings take a winding course of chaos and all we can do is hang on for the ride.
Other times we seem to be in a "flow state" and everything is easy.
Most of the time, it's somewhere in between.
Try to do the things you've always wanted to do so you don't have those regrets at the end.
    Build meaningful friendships.
Seek your own happiness as no one and no circumstance can give it to you.
You can't make others happy, so choose happy people for your closest relationships/friendships.
The best we can do is enhance the happiness of others and they enhance ours.
That's my takeaway on life so far. Easier said than done.

Even when you’re talk about your uncertainty. That’s basically what it is lol you wake up and eat so somethings catch some views catch some vibes, the. Reflect at the end like “what am I doing? Where am I going with this- where is this leading me to?- what am I building to towards?”
To me your production and storytelling reflects that.
And since your doing that and being a consistent with it, what you’re building is--this lol. Your work is inspiring, it’s your art and your expression. and a documentation of this period of your life.

    Speaking as a one-time screenwriter:
    * Self-doubt's educative once you push thru it--it has value.
    * You can't ever recreate or 'capture' reality (in a van or elsewhere). Art can only be different from what it depicts.
    * As a film-maker, you're a natural. Your ability to string together a montage (for example) is impressive.

Hi, Anna. I'm a friend of Ray's and he told me about your UA-cam channel. It's interesting to see you working on how to describe life in a van beyond the hashtags (🤘🏼#vanlife 🤘🏼) and Instagram influencers to make a point about the reality of it. I think the most important thing about "van life" is "life." Your living arrangements may be different but your life is still unfolding. Live it. Oh, and don't worry too much about if you've got it figured out. Anyone who tells you they do is lying. 😊
I've subscribed, so look forward to see how you continue to express that in future videos. I think the little vignettes of your day interspersed with your thoughts and feelings about them are a good way to tell your story. Keep up the good work.

You are killing it at what you do!!
Focus on you’re own craft obviously growing is important, but I love the way your story tell already you depict what’s REAL and show the true side of “VAN LIFE” cause all these other Van lifers only show what they want to show, which is chopped up footage of the HIGHLIGHTS not the trueness and Realness of the journey cause just with every Journey in life it’ll have their ups and downs anything we do that is bigger than us will have a bumpy road !! We just gotta focus on the the paving (Creating whatever it is we truly desire) ,Staying Present (enjoying what is right in front of us) and to remember we can only CONTROL what’s in front of us (Hence staying present LOL) 🙏🏼

Life in a van I have to suspect is as different as the individuals living it. The main differences I see in living in a van is that where ever you go, you have everything with you and never have to say "Oh! I forgot to bring my....", and things like, if you don't like the weather, scenery, people, etc, where you're currently at, get behind the wheel and just drive til you do. Solution for your screen; very small screws to hold Velcro strip to the frame, and sew the opposing Velcro strip to the screen itself if you want it removable for cleaning etc. Or if you want it as a permanent fixture just use tiny screws to attach the screen itself to the frame. Either way I'd put a screw in abut every 3-4 inches.

Anna ! You are a THINKER ! I love thinkers ... you mentioned on another video about books that blew your mind ..Krishnamurti is one of the deepest thinkers I know of ...he has many books and many people do not understand him because he talks about ‘no thought and going beyond thought..’ but here is one of his clearer books to start with, Choiceless Awareness . I hope you will try it , inexpensive on Amazon ..If I could buy it for you , I would . Being in nature , away from all the hustle bustle , you can go to these deeper places .. People are searching for what is already there. :)

I imagine life on the road is similar to parenting in that you can watch people do it, you can talk to them about it and try to gain wisdom- but you won’t really know what it’s like until you do it yourself. Take a breath lass, and just tell the story you want to share with others. It’s not your fault if they misinterpret it or miss your true intention. That’s too big a burden to bare!

I think you do a much more important thing than storytelling (such as other vanlife videos do) in that you share some brutal honesty, you keep asking the questions (that's all there is -imo), you don't make it seem there is something each of us Must Do (b/c maybe there isn't), you just tell your simple day...and truly, WHAT else is there? I agree! It took me 15 years of near solid isolation to come to this point/that acceptance, ..I think vanlife takes the same steps quicker. God and you're so young, you probably have 100 more years-haha. I don't know but I love what you say and how you say it and the music you share it with on the you road you're on ..today. What you make clear to us, you make clear to yourself. What Could be more beautiful, than getting clear, than being wherever you are, than being however you are, now. And being okay with it. I could go on-lol. You would be an awesome person to know -I'm so glad I have the opportunity via your vlogs. I get why the other 4 girls loved meeting up, all that deep honest sharing (you were all similar this way?) and getting clear, affirming, validating... all that beautifulness that relationships sometimes bring. Enough said, not sure I'll hit reply here today b/c I am less brave than you. KNOW that! :-)

How I mounted my net (although the net is fragile) sewed velcro on the inside of the net (the side that sticks to the edge of the van) than the other side of the velcro around the edge of the van. Than, get snaps (button snaps) with one side having a screw in and the other you smash the snap into place. So the end result is the net stays in with the snaps but seals around with the velcro. If you would like to do that, let me know and I can walk you through it.

When I was younger, I used to think 'How can I write something worthy? I haven't lived enough to bring wisdom to my words." Now that I am older, I realize what I may have gained in wisdom - I have lost in the raw creativity that comes in our youth - the creativity you have before the rest of the world tells you what you should and shouldn't do/think/be. As you were contemplating the art, I was thinking to myself, 'Tell her to read BIG MAGIC. That will resolve some of the angst.' CUT TO: Anna sitting on her bed - doors open - copy of BIG MAGIC on the door bookshelf facing the interior! Hysterical! Synchronicity is cool. Wish I would have had that book in my twenties. Two great pieces of advice from that book ... (paraphrased) ' Don't think you need to save the world with your words. Spare me! Tell your ego to take a back seat and quit getting in the way of your writing. Two - BE AUTHENTIC!' (Gilbert) You already "get" the authentic part - you're doing it. P.S. Liked your time-lapsed video of the tide. That was cool. Next piece of equipment? Good sound system! :) Don't want to miss anymore of your authentic words that don't always have to "make a difference". Good job Anna! Look forward to more content. :)

      Hey Leanne, 🙂
Thank you so much for leaving such kind words 💛 Reading BIG MAGIC by Elizabeth Gilbert definitely changed my perspective on so many aspects related to personal creativity and gave me a fresh new way of looking at where our ideas come from! I love recommending and sharing that book with others who enjoy writing/any creative art honestly 🥰
I will say it’s a constant, conscious effort to keep tuning into what my intuition and gut feelings are saying…the world today definitely has its cunning ways of always trying to make a person into something that looks like everybody else but exactly who they are. I think encouraging self-expression throughout our entire lives could be a great counterbalance to all the “shoulds” life tries to throw at us. 🙃
      Thank you again 🥰✨
