Internationally renowned sculptor David Begbie has worked almost exclusively with the human form throughout his career. Since his first pioneering solo show in London 1984 a whole new genre of steel-mesh art has emerged and continues to grow. He is the master of his medium and his work speaks for itself.

Bravo Mr Begbie, what you have done is sort of made 3D poetry come to life in vivid physicality not unsimilar to shadows; your invention in challenging the rules of sculpture to its very essence has brought to us in eye-reach: fabulous, intriguing and hallucinating new ways to view reality. One might say that the shadows from your work now have a place to call home.

A shadow certainly is "made of" perception... Just like everything that can be perceived.
