Where the streets have no name is a place where no hate no Jealousy no greed exist! Where money no have any worth! Where love is eternal like good he created it. That's the place where the streets no have name!We all one time will reach this wonderful place.
I've lived this song... Escaped communism... Lived in a pickup truck with my wife... Started over with nothing... Blessed... Wherever we went the abundance humbled us... We were never alone, never starved... The people were God's children and we were loved and accepted... Love is the most high worth more than money could by... Where the streets have no name, in God's country... God bless America🙏🇺🇸
What a song. My brothers favourite, he is gone where the streets have no name, played this in the church for his funeral, spine tingling, especially the intro xxx
I remember walking around New York at 7AM by myself. I noticed all the streets had no names... just numbers. I felt so alone, so at peace. This song has always taken me back to that day and that morning. Some day I'll go back there....
Have you ever heard Sweet Jane? UA-cam Lou Reed RocknRoll Animal…Sweet Jane..you might find a new fave..it’s..off the rails..and… The comments are also very very interesting to read through. 😊😊😊
Phenomenal song by a band with that phenomenal sound. U2 truly invented their own wall of sound. Inimitable and simultaneously catchy and haunting. Magic.
I thumbs up for this being my dad's favorite song The Edge is easily among the greatest guitarists of all time... we played this song at the last day of primary school :´) good old times
What a freaking album this was. It contained their second best song of all time, still haven't found what I'm looking for... third, with or without you...... and fourth, this gem right here,..of course behind the magnificent "one"
Man the intro is just so awesome so calming and kinda puts you into a trance. The intro until the singing honestly is my favorite part...and the last 45 seconds
If you've ever driven through Joshua tree or southern Arizona, during the sunset with your lady playing this , you'll really understand, how amazing this cassette was. If you don't know what a cassette was , you missed the whole time.
This song was played at my grandpas memorial sevrice i cry everytime i hear it. He died only at 65. He loved to climb mountians and go hiking. I will never forget when he came over to my house and scare my cat on purpose. Thank you for posting this, even though you will probably not see this as its been 13 years since you posted this, but thank you.
I do like 80s, and I was young then, but remember that Queen referred to my generation as the one who "grew up tall and proud in the shadow of the mushroom cloud." The fear of nuclear war with the Soviet bloc was the backdrop to our lives, and whenever I hear this song reference "the poison rain," I think of it as nuclear fallout.
March 1987, I'm fourteen years old and go with my school friend to HMV on New Street in Birmingham to buy the Joshua Tree. And I'm still playing it in 2018. Easily one of the greatest rock albums of all time.
I always get so exited when a U2 song comes on the radio, and I have no idea why. They sound so awesome, but I always never remember the names of their songs, but this time I did. Thank god.
This song makes me sort of sad, it makes me think of the last week of my sixth grade year (not too long ago) and how I started to open up to some people that I recently was too nervous to talk to, and I didn’t keep in touch with them and now I’m not sure if I’ll ever see them again. They were good friends of mine for about five days. This story isn’t really comment worthy but I had to get it out there.
thanks for posting the lyrics. some people suffer from hearing loss and have songs still in their hearts. it's a really cruel and indifferent world. Thanks again.
we played this song at the last day of primary school :´) good old times Masterpiece This seems like a song that you could drive around at night and listen to
Ah this song brings back so many good memories. Those long gone days when the little things mattered so much more. I miss those days, it sadness me but still makes me happy I got to have those special moments.
The intro sets the mood. Imagine getting your car as the sun starts setting lighting the sky with orange and pink. Reflecting off the white clouds as they morph to match and expand the sun's last rays. You start the car and your animal hops into the front seat and after you pet them you start driving away. Getting on the highway and driving with no worries and a smile. Things are going to only get better.
If only life could always be like that, I'd choose for life to always be like that if I could pick and choose but unfortunately I can't pick and choose
I have a feeling this guy started writing, and subconsciously kept reflecting his dreams. I feel you bro. If you want, listen to my song, Old is Gold (just helpin myself here sorry)
Todos escriben en inglés pero yo ser de México me da orgullo escuchar estás canciones bono eres mi fan que buenas canciones has dado gracias por todo eres increíble y con un corazón enorme

My family and I go on trips, and I listen to this album in the car. I start the album when when we get close to the expressway, and hope we turn on to it at 1:06-1:09.
September 1987 riding my motorcycle with headphones on on a dirt road high up in Mendocino County - I'll show you a place high on a desert plane where the streets have no name-it was a perfect moment in a perfect place and time.
Magic occurs rarely. The release of this monumental work was MAGIC. i love this song thank you u2. : ) I hope the afterlife sounds exactly like this intro/outro.
The instrumental intro sounds like a not-so-distant future where wars have destroyed the world as we know it but the survivors find a way to live united and in peace forever
Where the streets have no name is a place where no hate no Jealousy no greed exist! Where money no have any worth! Where love is eternal like good he created it. That's the place where the streets no have name!We all one time will reach this wonderful place.

I remember walking around New York at 7AM by myself. I noticed all the streets had no names... just numbers. I felt so alone, so at peace. This song has always taken me back to that day and that morning. Some day I'll go back there....
That's an interesting observation... Numbers are fact , not feelings....
I used to hear this song a lot when I was growing up in the 1980's. That decade sure did have memorable talent & music.
couldn’t agree with you more ❤
Alright mate it happened in my life too
The intro of this song still gives me goosebumps over thirty years later.
I like the way it gradually gets louder & louder......
I hope the afterlife sounds exactly like this intro/outro.

The intro to this song is probably one of my favorite intros from any rock song ever.
Have you ever heard Sweet Jane? UA-cam Lou Reed RocknRoll Animal…Sweet Jane..you might find a new fave..it’s..off the rails..and… The comments are also very very interesting to read through. 😊😊😊
Oh it's a rock song? No wonder it doesn't sound like a hymn I read it was supposed to be a hymn 🤦♀️
Love Edge
One of my favorite bands and songs!

Nothing beats 80's music long live the 80's wish I was born then

i was born in the 80,s and loved this song and still do. the only downside is there isn't a volume button big enough no matter how loud you turn it up
Man the intro is just so awesome so calming and kinda puts you into a trance.

When I am dead and gone and in heaven I want this song played at my service.
The instrumental intro sounds like a not-so-distant future where wars have destroyed the world as we know it but the survivors find a way to live united and in peace forever
That's partly right. It's a premonition of a nuclear attack on the USA in 2020
