    That has to be one of the best warp jumps I've ever seen. The streaks, the stretch, the abruptness. It has it all! :O

      I'm glad you said that - I randomly clicked on this video, watched it and thought, 'that's probably my favourite warp jump I've ever seen'

    I like how the impulse engines turn off when the ship goes to warp. Also very nice design

    This is the first time I've seen the Nacell struts look so substantial on any ship design aside from the D. REally beautiful profile.. More?

    Good jump and yes indeed the impulse engine went dark just ahead of the warp jump a detail many miss. Excellent

    I love the fact that this design seems to share technology/design lineage with the Oberth. That "family" has always needed expanding because if the Oberth was so good that they kept it around for so long, why don't we see similar designs?

    You did a great job copying the feel of the model work in that era.

    If I read it right, it's basically a "NX-Refit but TMP" right?
    And it's always great to see the honest recreation of TMP style and the attention to details.

    Not to be overly critical (and I could be wrong here) but our view seemed to be stationary and moving at the same time. If we are stationary, we would see the ship speed away and perhaps some light effects of a warp tunnel, but we would not see stars in motion. If the camera is fixed in reference to the ship we would see the stars in motion, but not the ship. Here we are fixed in space, the star field is fixed, the ship accelerates away, and we see stars as if we are fixed in relation to the ship. I don't think a warp tunnel would provide that particular sight (i.e. what the ship would see). But this could just be me at my most pedantic.

    You are nailing that colour tone - what filters are you using?

    • @mishasiegfried1
      @mishasiegfried1  8 місяців тому +1

      Thanks! I'm using Lumetri color correction and Red Giant Looks in tandem with each other. Lumetri for basic corrections and then Red Giant Looks does the filmstock emulation. It's a variation on Howie Day's methodology in his videos. He has a walk through on his channel on how he does his flares in compositing and he talks brielfy about his color grading. Also, I've been watching your videos for a while and I'm a big fan of your work!

    the 2nd hull must be detachable or something.. it must house something dangerous, thats the only reason i could see wanting a secondary hull connected with a neck, to the aft structure off the saucer.

    the final warp sound should be a bang as in TMP, the sound effect using discoery style is a mistake.

    • @mishasiegfried1

    Pretty ship, but I am a bit confused by the design. Geeky made-up BS says that the point of the engineering hull is to contain the warp core and reactors. The warp nacelles connect directly to the engineering hull because plasma fairy-dust has to be channeled directly from the core into those pylons. In this design it looks like you've either got the warp core situated between the pylons and fore of the impulse emitters, or it's down in the engineering hull and the ship is channeling warp plasma through an almost 90-degree bend. Even ridiculous ships like the California-class connect nacelles to the engineering hull - even if reaching engineering means scaling those goofy structural pylons.
    I'm not going to say that your made-up ship design is _wrong_ in comparison to all the other made-up ship designs, but the divergence in what has been back-explained as a technological design limitation confuses my inner consistency goblin.
    That said, every other aspect of this starship is pure 2270's beauty. Holy cow do you understand the aesthetics of the era, dude. The saucer and main deflector are en pointe, and the industrial looking space-bay at the rear of the engineering hull hints at some unusual mission options for a ship of this class. Since Star Trek generally considers warpfighters to be unserious, it always interests me to see what sorts of things you can do with a carrier-like spaceframe. The big space-bay gives me ideas.
