After a scrape, leaving hospital post coma it was a struggle to be sure the outside world was real, still remember most of the hallucinations in detail even over 5 years later.
It is not hallucinations but a near death experience. Hallucinations are not real but we have evidence suggesting near death experience are very much real and can not be something fabricated.

Finally we got this long- awaited conversation. Hamza Yusuf is really a humble human being. Just look at the calmness he answers with and he never interrupts . In the whole conversation,I never found the two voices overlapping .
My dad always said in a very aggressive way "Hey! When I die it's a day of the Eid (Islamic festival), celebrate it as it is" I always thought it weird and how could anyone even say death is a celebration. But then the day came, and there was happiness all around in a sense he got all he dreamt of and passed away in most miraculous ways possible. Every moment leading upto his death and after there was a miracle of sorts. It was undeniable we ought to "celebrate" it. He left a very happy man and that actually made us all very happy. Off course I broke down days later with immense pain in the heart of him "passing away" which is definitely the natural thing to do but to this day I still "celebrate" his passing away. He was 100% ready for it.
If you think about going to a greater place it is like a celebration. Like going away party. We miss them though. That is really hard. I actually get comfort in knowing that I will get to follow them one day. One day we all get to go. Life here is ephemeral.
Sheikh Hamza Yusof was given guidance towards Islam as the chosen one by God just like Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam). Both experienced near death experience in their youths. These were their turning points in their lives. Alhamdulillah.
I had a NDE. I had experienced many things. I believe we are not allowed to recall them all. However do remember two : ONE We have no control of anything ,that's an illusion . Secondly, man has no true knowledge of God, it's greater than anything we could imagine. I still wonder why I came back. Now, I have to die again lol. We never die we leave our bodies.

I imagine that a very TRAUMATIC near death is markedly different than a so called "run of the mill" death. His trauma can not be separated from what it inspired in him after such an experience. If he read different things in perhaps even a different order he may have concluded differently. For example, if he were to have subsequently focused on LIFE and what religions had to say about life his conclusions and path may have been markedly different. Choices at a critical juncture are often accompanied with loving parents input; he did not have that additional benefit because of his tragic loss of loved one's. That alone can cause a search and thirst that is unquenchable. I am glad that he appears to have found peace.

After studying psychology and becoming a mental health therapist, we are fortunate to live in a day and age where we can have discussions like this. If Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud were alive today they probably would be having discussions like this on UA-cam or, at the very least, be subjected to discussions like this.

I got hit by a BUS and its wheels rode over my toes, i fell down, with nothing broken, my arms, legs and toes where all intact, tho my body was in shock for a minute, all i said on my walk back home was "Oh wauw" and a lot of cussing. 1 more step and i was dead for sure. So the feeling is quite... weird, its like you stop fearing death for a while, and nothing seems dangerous anymore, and you become very, relaxed in a way. However, it did not bring me any closer to a higher being, nor did it have any value after the fact on that sense, for me.
I had a head on collision with a cow then a tree same reck and its slower then words can explain but i could not move only think and I'll say it i did not see my life flash but after i came to someone did speak to me and put his hand on my shoulder one i know the saddle wearing man was there i felt his touch i looked away for a few moments and he was gone there is much more to the testimony that brought me to my faith in Jesus Crist

No matter what _actually_ happens after death, *only experience is experienced* So even if you (the consciousness that's reading this right now) ceases to exist (stops being done by the brain), then just like non-existence before birth was followed by a consciousness due to the birth of a brain that then started doing a consciousness ("you"), then it follows that death (non-existence) will also be followed by a consciousness due to consciousness being done by other brains (around the world, and perhaps elsewhere in the universe). Non-existence will always be followed by an experience, because only experience is experienced. You don't experience your own non-existence. There are only the consciousnesses that _are_ occurring. So if we don't have souls, or any of the other stuff that'd allow for "personal subjective continuity", then there will be what philosopher, Tom Clark calls "generic subjective continuity". (What I explained above). Sam Harris did a podcast on this, that podcast episode is called "The Paradox Of Death". Annaka Harris has an audio series on consciousness coming out soon where she interviewed Clark. So no matter what actually happens after death - it can only be followed by an experience, because only experience is experienced. Read Clark's essay "Death, Nothingness and Subjectivity ".
For a while after being saved from drowning, i really questioned whether i was actually alive or just wandering through the process toward whatever after world that presented itself. That really hasn't subsided fully, but i was able to kind of reintegrate back... but not really. Idk. It's really hard to explain.

I think it's interesting that NDEs Are so similar but have some differences. Some see Jesus or Buddha. Some don't see it but hear it. In light or complete blackness. The bright light the tunnel etc. It's almost like here on earth. Part of us is the human deciding what they want to do in life. College, tech school, what type of work. The other part is stuff that you have no control over. What happens to you. Maybe when we die we still have our own impression of what it would be. Half us and half of something else.

Jordan I’m not religious but this is Definitely an area you should explore, scientifically, psychologically, spiritually, sociologically, this type of video, gives people hope. For tens of thousands of years humans have believed in something, having a background in anthropology, there is virtually no humans who in the history of of species have not believed, we now live in time new to human history in tens of thousands of years in which more than 50% of the western population do not believe in a higher power, that immediate breakdown in the species psychology can only have detrimental effects and propagate nihilism to its inevitable effects.

My limited interpretation of the core of his conversion: - I almost died, and it scared me so badly I desperately seeked comfort through knowledge. - Of all the religions that spoke on death and afterlife, Muslim religion gave me the niche answer I was looking for. - So now, I'm a Muslim. I mean good for him. People who discover God in its various ways do it through all kinds of methods, but this one just seemed like more a distraction than an awakening. It you watch the full discussion he explained that the NDE got him interested in knowing what is after death but it was through study that he found Islam to be true. It's theology is the most logical. The NDE wasn't the ultimate reason for his conversion, just made him realize life is temporary and he should prepare for the afterlife. So yes he did have an awakening do to the NDE and that lead him to study Islam and finally convert.
Peterson's insight seems the most probable. It makes a lot of sense; that in extreme danger, the body would go into overdrive to scour the mind for any solution to survive, i.e. remembering your whole life, etc. This guy, focusing on death so much, seems to have missed the whole point of his NDE. Sounds like he's waiting to die or something.

Also there can never be a “perfect heaven.” Everyone imagines heaven to be perfect where everyone is always happy 24/7. How can you have happiness without suffering? I’m not going to minimize this persons experience. However, he clearly has an agenda as far as his religion goes. I guess most religions don’t care how you get to them, though the threat of death is (in my mind) the cheapest route. It was mortal fear that drove you into your religion, not introspection. Harrowing experiences aren’t necessarily flashes in time as in this cases. Consistent dread is far more painful/disabling than any car accident or gunshot wound and much more consistent with truth. You HAVE to evaluate your life and think about your pain over months or years even.

Life is too complex for AI to replace us in life and death situations-it cannot account for the unpredictable nature of reality. Computer controlled vehicles are just as bad of an idea as computer controlled turret guns. I will never set foot into a vehicle without a steering wheel.

I got hit by a BUS and its wheels rode over my toes, i fell down, with nothing broken, my arms, legs and toes where all intact, tho my body was in shock for a minute, all i said on my walk back home was "Oh wauw" and a lot of cussing. 1 more step and i was dead for sure. So the feeling is quite... weird, its like you stop fearing death for a while, and nothing seems dangerous anymore, and you become very, relaxed in a way. However, it did not bring me any closer to a higher being, nor did it have any value after the fact on that sense, for me.

So even if you (the consciousness that's reading this right now) ceases to exist (stops being done by the brain), then just like non-existence before birth was followed by a consciousness due to the birth of a brain that then started doing a consciousness ("you"), then it follows that death (non-existence) will also be followed by a consciousness due to consciousness being done by other brains (around the world, and perhaps elsewhere in the universe). Non-existence will always be followed by an experience, because only experience is experienced.
You don't experience your own non-existence. There are only the consciousnesses that _are_ occurring.
So if we don't have souls, or any of the other stuff that'd allow for "personal subjective continuity", then there will be what philosopher, Tom Clark calls "generic subjective continuity". (What I explained above). Sam Harris did a podcast on this, that podcast episode is called "The Paradox Of Death". Annaka Harris has an audio series on consciousness coming out soon where she interviewed Clark.
So no matter what actually happens after death - it can only be followed by an experience, because only experience is experienced.

For a while after being saved from drowning, i really questioned whether i was actually alive or just wandering through the process toward whatever after world that presented itself. That really hasn't subsided fully, but i was able to kind of reintegrate back... but not really. Idk. It's really hard to explain.

I think it's interesting that NDEs Are so similar but have some differences. Some see Jesus or Buddha. Some don't see it but hear it. In light or complete blackness. The bright light the tunnel etc. It's almost like here on earth. Part of us is the human deciding what they want to do in life. College, tech school, what type of work. The other part is stuff that you have no control over. What happens to you. Maybe when we die we still have our own impression of what it would be. Half us and half of something else.

I think the reason time seems to slow down to us when we are in moments of intense stress or engaged in a highly stimulating activity is because our consciousness is, in a sense, moving faster through space than the rear of our body and the matte around us.

It you watch the full discussion he explained that the NDE got him interested in knowing what is after death but it was through study that he found Islam to be true. It's theology is the most logical. The NDE wasn't the ultimate reason for his conversion, just made him realize life is temporary and he should prepare for the afterlife. So yes he did have an awakening do to the NDE and that lead him to study Islam and finally convert.

It makes a lot of sense; that in extreme danger, the body would go into overdrive to scour the mind for any solution to survive, i.e. remembering your whole life, etc. This guy, focusing on death so much, seems to have missed the whole point of his NDE. I’m not going to minimize this persons experience. However, he clearly has an agenda as far as his religion goes. I guess most religions don’t care how you get to them, though the threat of death is (in my mind) the cheapest route. It was mortal fear that drove you into your religion, not introspection. Harrowing experiences aren’t necessarily flashes in time as in this cases. Consistent dread is far more painful/disabling than any car accident or gunshot wound and much more consistent with truth. You HAVE to evaluate your life and think about your pain over months or years even.
He could just be lying. He has had many years to embellish his experience. Religious types do ‘run with the ball’. Many of his facts are simply made up in his own mind.
