This video made me pretty sad, I'm not gonna lie. Joining the military soon, and facing the concept of leaving home is pretty painful at times, especially considering that the home I leave will never be the home I return to. None of my family are Christians except for me and I just worry about what this means, if I'll ever get to see my mom or dad or brother again. I experienced remarkable grace from God in my life when He gave me my faith about a year ago, and I know that I am one who has the ears to hear Him, but with my family, as of yet, it has never appeared to be so. Please pray for me but also mainly for my family if you have a moment, I would really appreciate it. Thank you everyone, God bless you all.
Tone Def Man...sounds close to home, no pun intended. The only other Christian in my family is my mom and I, but she’s half way across the country. Tone Def We all worry about our family, especially if they didn't met God yet. It is wonderfull that you love your family and worry about them. I have the same situation with my family, but you forgot one thing. You forgot that God wants to save every person on this world and He wants to see your family in heaven one day more than you do. We can't imagine how He loves us. You have your whole life to pray, fast for your loved ones. It is not coincidence that you met Him. He has chosen you to be little light in your family, to witness them your relationship with God so that one day they accept Him too. Don't get discourages or tired. Sometimes it might seem that there is no any improvement but God is always there. He is taking care for everything, why than to be scared? God wants us to trust Him unconditionally because he is so much beyond us. And whoever puts hope in Him won't be dissapointet and does not have to worry. Whatever is hard for you, like the fact you're leaving your home, say it to God. Be with Him in the simplicity of your days. He will give you hapiness and strenght. Be happy because God loves you and is taking care for you and your family in a perfect way! 😀😊
Tone Def, hold on brother, I'm in similar situation like you, like lot of others, like the one's in this comments. You are not alone! HE is always with us and love us as nobody else! I will pray for you! God bless you!
Keep praying for them, and keep interacting with them and modeling your faith to them. My mother was pretty key in my reverting back to Catholicism. I was agnostic for years and very weak in faith before that. I still wrestle with serious doubts even though I've come back to Jesus. Mom didn't preach much, but she did pray, extremely constantly for me and for all of us. Maybe that had something to do with my coming back. Maybe it didn't. But your love for your family might help them draw closer to God one day. Even though you're leaving for the military, don't give up on them.
This is so very hard to hear. My husband , the love of my life died two years ago. I ran to my Jesus for comfort . I pray the rosary daily , I’m digging deeper into my faith out of desperate need for peace and comfort in my devastation from grief. I’m struggling with my human heart here on earth and my wanting to be reunited with my husband. I’m only able to survive by the thought that my Jesus will complete me again as he reunites my husband and I again. I’m struggling with this very badly. Why would my Jesus not want this for us? It’s all so confusing to me here on this earth. I love Him so much , but I wish he would ease my anxiety. My husband and I had a blissful marriage. God bless each and every one. Thank you Fr Mike.
Fr Mike, I can say this video hit home. I was raised Catholic, but I became atheists, later agnostic, found God and became born again, but as I have grown in my faith i have been coming back to my Catholic faith, because i believe most of what the church teaches is God's will. I'm going back to mass and hopefully God will answer my prayers and let me know this is the True Church. If so, I look forward to bringing my wife and kids into the Catholic faith (they are born-again as well) so I will need to have them converted. So your videos are inspiring and I wish all Priests were as enthusiastic and clear as you. This video definitely helps explain change, the way i and my family has change. God Bless!
I would say the fact that in your God-given conviction, you believe that the Catholic Church is true, the fact that you feel called to go to mass regularly again, and the fact that your heart desires for your family to be brought into the Catholic Church, are all answers to your prayers that God show you that this is the True Church. In my opinion, it's time to stop waiting and start living. God bless Roman, you're in my prayers!
The Miserable Man the Catholic Church is not a denomination it's the church Christ started himself. As for other denominations it is important because lots of them teach heresies and other lies.
I have been a widow for 16 years and yes the no marriage in heaven was hard to accept. My husband recived the sacraments and was ready to meet God, so I can reasonably believe that he is or will be in heaven. I still have a relationship with him it's just not the same as it was. I used to wish he could still be with me and a part of me always will. But he is with God! I talk to him often and remind him he is not off the hook, he still has the responsibility to help get me to heaven, so I ask him to pray for me and I still pray for him. O yes, Go Bull Dogs!
The "no marriage in heaven" speculation is unbiblical and founded upon a complete misunderstanding of Jesus' response to the Sadducees' question about the Levirate marriage found in all three Synoptic gospels. The point is we don't know for sure and it's a false teaching. God said he hates divorce (separation)
You and your husband will be able to enjoy each other's company in Heaven. We will be so in love with God and exist in God's love and light with constant joy and worship with our loved ones in Heaven, through our Lord Saviour Jesus Christ.
@@paulcosta8297 That is false. Marriage is God's gift to us here on earth to have an image of His love. In the vows it says "until death do us part", so if one spouse dies the marriage is done. That is why a widow can remarry without getting an annulment or divorce. We may see them in Heaven, but it is God that will be the fulfillment for eternity.
@@BassKick Thank you for your response but I am going to debate you on this because I believe you are misguided. First of all, thank you for acknowledging that Marriage is a gift from God and not be disparaged like some pagan-influenced early church fathers were wont to do. You are incorrect however in pronouncing with certainty that there will be no marriage bond in heaven when in fact there is zero biblical support for you to make this claim. Jesus response to the Sadducees spoke 1) of the condition of those 7 specific hypothetical brothers and 2) "in the resurrection", which is a momentary event before God's final New Earth/Heaven. Jesus did not at all address whether there will be a marriage status in the eternal state; actually His words "ouk gametai" suggest that there is no additional change to the marriage bond. Second, the wording of an Anglican traditional marriage vow is not a theological argument. Third, while you would be correct to say that there are circumstances in life (death or fornication of spouse) that would permit remarriage, that does absolutely nothing to contradict the possibility of marriage in heaven. Fourth, I dare you to provide a shred of Biblical support for this tawdry, cliché notion of eternity in heaven being like a never ending church service in some sort of mythical, non-physical realm. Revelation quite differently speaks of a New Earth. Revelation speaks of Jesus Christ who makes all things NEW. Marriage existed at the beginning; male and female He created them. In summary, I think you would be in error to declare with absolute certainty there is or isn't marriage in heaven. But we must not deny the possibility and as I argue even the probability.
@@paulcosta8297 *cough* Mark 12:25 "When they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but they are like the angels in heaven. " Yes. We will still know them, but we won't have the sacrificial bond that is marriage on earth. We will still love them, and our souls will show the bond, but the most important bond in Heaven is with God. If a woman widowed 5 times, and when she dies are you saying she will be married to all 5 of them in Heaven? I never said that Heaven is an eternal church service, and Catholics don't do "services." The Mass is our glimpse into Heaven, as God becomes the bread and the wine to participate in His sacrifice with the angels and saints. He is the focal point of Heaven.
Father Mike, you are right and not snarky. I had this talk with someone recently. My grandmother is almost 89 and has early stage dementia and my precious little dog is almost 16. I love them so much but I also know that someday I will lose them. I know I will be crushed. I do know that God is the only constant and things change. I am so grateful that I have them and its worth every second.
Amen! This summer the guy I had seen my whole future with broke up with me and it was tbe first time in my life that I really experienced loss. I didn't know how to handle everything and I was so confused for some time, but now I'm grateful in a way. It helped me reach that clarity that God is the only person I can truly put first and love and be fulfilled. I still believe I am called to marry, but my perspective and expectation of what my spouse is supposed to be for me has changed. I just feel this love and trust in God that I have never experienced before, not an overwhelming spiritual experience, but just a constance, that even in times of struggle I struggle and endure with God and trust to let Him lead my life. And without loss I couldn't have learned all that
No, I think you can say that will change, too. Now, we are part of the Church Militant. I would argue our relationship with the Lord cannot be the same as people already in heaven, or Church Triumphant. For one thing, we have the three theological virtues; faith, hope and love. In heaven, we won't have (or need) faith or hope anymore.
One of the things I lean on during tough times is everything will end. No matter how good or how bad, it's going to end. Sounds negative but it's a very freeing mindset!
Amén sometimes it’s a bit sad that relationships end and then you feel like you have no real friends or friendships but we cannot close the people out we need cherish what we have and to take care of those relationships like there a plant but put our relationship with God first
Dear Father Mike Schmitz, I am thankful to you that The Almighty God for giving you the knowledge and the wisdom to explain about what God is saying in the Bible where there is no marriage in heaven when we see our married spouses we once had on earth but not in heaven. I'm recently widowed and childless. I was married for 39 years to my husband and who was the father to our only daughter who died of cancer 20 years ago at the age of 16. My husband died almost two years ago. It was a very loving marriage but also one that had a lot of strain into the marriage. Early cancer disgnosed at a very young age was hard for us and the worst when she died. We both had faith that our daughter is with God in heaven. Although we suffered and my husband more greatly as it developed a weak heart for years until he died. It was certainly a journey for both of us to endure such great pain but God always helped us through the pain. We believe that we will meet and see all of our if and when we go to heaven. Our faith is alive and strong during the joyful and sorrowful times in our lives. I will know my family one day again, God permitting, in the way that God will want it to be. Pure love, joy, and peace. Thank you and God Bless You Father Mike.
Saint Matthew 6:33-34 But seek first the kingdom [of God] and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil.
My church just had its last mass before they begin a 9 month long renovation and it was very sad because it was the last time all of us would be in that space. There, prayers were answered, people were transformed by the Eucharist, people were baptized and confirmed, funerals were held, and weddings took place. This video reminded me that change is normal and beautiful because it allows for transformation! Thank you Fr Mike, God Bless
When I was first married to my late husband, I struggled with this exact feeling. The minister I talked with helped me to understand that although there will be no marriage in heaven, we can trust that God has a more excellent relationship for us when we get there. Consider this - Now I am married to someone else who I also dearly love. If there was only marriage as we know it in heaven, where would that leave the 3 of us? I don't know what God has planned, but I know that when my current husband and I catch up to my late husband in heaven, I will have a perfect relationship with both of them, free from jealousy, and full of love.
..I had to think last night when a friend's wife posted about losing her husband unexpectedly...we knew him in middle school, so it was quite a shock to see his name in an obit. and his service being held at the church we all attended growing up. That said, there have been other "gut punches" , completely unexpected...the death of a co-worker...the very unexpected death of a friend who we all knew through a military assignment. It makes you appreciate life more..but, it can also make you stubborn toward getting what you want....I am reminded...every time I visit my dad's site at Quantico, the sheer number of service men and women who sacrificed so much for the freedoms we enjoy today. Don't take that for granted.
I can understand fear of loss. I really fear losing my parents. But change is also good. I’ve experienced loss and disappointment and got to the point that I feel like life is only going to get worse from here. I feel jaded and hopeless. But today in mass the homily was about rejecting and rebelling against God’s love and I realized I’ve been doing that. I fail to realize that God still has good things in store for me despite losses and I fail to recognize the good things I have. I’m trying to rebuild my sense of hope. Pain is temporary, and healing is a form of change too.
"I can't put all my hope in this world." Great video! This is a very tough concept for me to deal with, as I dislike change and want most situations in my life to stay the same. Thankfully I know that God will never change and he will always love me.
Fr Mike! Big shout out from Texas!!! Thank you for coming to Stebenville Lone Star. My son attended and said you had him shook. Thank you for being able to articulate in a way that you can reach the youth. Please continue to pray for a the youth who attended that retreat. Side note I adore the picture of Our Lady behind you. Many Blessings Sarita
I love the OUTTAKES! Sometimes I come to your messages with an overly morbid sense of doom and gloom, absolutely sure Christ is done with me. “You did WHAT again!? “ The out takes help me to, LIGHTEN UP! I wonder what makes Jesus bust a gut! I like to think I do! Ha! Keep it coming Father! You Rock! Blessings from this 61 year old gal who, like “Dorothy”, is on the yellow brick road, determined to get back home!
Fr Mike, what you said about married couples still having a special bond even in heaven is something I’ve hoped for my whole life! Thank You for making me feel less insane. Now I continue to pray that I am allowed to have that, as I am currently single.
Even Fr. mike accepts change and that is a part of life. Thanks for making my life and understanding easier. Nothing stays perfect forever and that is a good thing. Forever can be a bad thing.
Thanks Father Not realizing how clinging can really be not only discouraging but extremely hurtful to ourselves and others. We are moving toward God in all things that means leaving behind many many things. Too soon old too late smart! We will be complete in heaven , all the love we need. I wonder will Priests still be Priests in heaven that’s a vocation too. God Bless
Thank you Fr. Mike, this message was something I needed to hear today. I've struggled most of my life with anxiety about permanence/impermanence, and had a flare-up of it recently. Your mention of the prayers "to use the goods of this world that they lead us to the ultimate eternal Good" was especially helpful. I pray that my fear decrease and my gratitude and faith increase. Thank you again for your work!
The hope of sharing Heaven with those I love gives me the strength and the joy to endure separation from loved ones! It helps me to pray for them and love them more purely. Plus, the thought of being saints together in Heaven gives me much excitement and a little extra boost of motivation to grow in holiness (not that that is my main source of motivation). Keeping our eyes Heaven bound and understanding that Heaven will leave us perfectly satisfied, is key, I think.
Thank you. I'm getting close to 60 years old; and I've always struggled with change. But due to many things, like my own decisions, actions, and failures --- my life has dramatically changed many times. And it is very painful, especially when among the true things, many misconceptions - even falsehoods are left unresolved - very very painful. At this moment in my life, I'm struggling very much over major life changes - and not knowing where to find help. What keeps me going is a morning prayer routine, and late afternoon prayer routine. It's the steadiness in my life. And by The Grace of God, it gives me purpose.
I'm 66 years old I struggled with change . 2019 I lost my dad . In my mom she's in a nursing home for Demetria . What helps me It's prayer and the grace of God To help me through these times What I like doing in the morning is doing the Praying the rosary . Is the apostle Creed. Sometimes I feel lonely for my dad . He wasn't Catholic but I do pray for my dad .

Gosh I felt the need to comment here and offer some support to digest this information. Firstly, yes there’s no marriage in Heaven. But that doesn’t mean there’s no love. In fact, the love in you will become so powerful, so prominent that it will transcend any need or desire for marriage. But you will certainly still love. And as for impermanence, yes worldly things are going to change. But you know what will never change? God and His love for you. Christ wants us to experience this love always so even as the world changes, this love will always be a permanent foundation for you to experience everything. So allow this to be a beautiful transformation of life as we make way for the love of Christ to enter our hearts deeper and deeper. God bless.
Thank you, Fr. Mike, for another amazing video. Yup, change is a part of life & accepting God's will means there are going to be changes. Pray for all of us, Fr. Mike. That we chose His will always. If God is for us, who can be against us? Also, I love how pretty serious you were, then just stopped because a truck was passing by. That's totally the first time that has happened since I started watching your videos. And yes, we want the outtakes! Or, bloopers, if you will. God bless!
This is very useful for the times we are living. Let's belive that there is something after dead something much better, Jesus for all the eternity, what could be better than that. I know we are weak and we think this world is all we have but as Jesus said my kingdom is not from this world. God bless you
Fr Mike! I need a podcast to listen to on my morning commute! Every video has resonated so much with me and my journey and also makes me smile and laugh.
Father I'm really thankful for this video, just before I clicked on the video I was just going through some prevention orientation, the same thing that the guy that emailed you was going through, and I believe that i clicked on the video by His grace. Thank you
I agree that life is change. I prayed for a change of job, and did my part to get the new job. Then, I got the new job, but because of the relocation involved and other aspects, I declined the very good offer. I feel I messed up, because I prayed for a change, got it, then, didn't proceed with it. Now, I need to identify what I really want, and begin the process all over again so that I won't decline something I prayed and made efforts for.
I love what he said about us not putting all of our hope in this world... because nothing is permanent here... Therefore, we must seek that which is eternal and put all of our hope and faith in that instead... And the only One who is unchanging is God... Jesus Christ. ❤️🙏😊
Help me pray that my second marriage in the Catholic Church will push through..😊 Canon law concerning nullity of a previous marriage is kind of "on hold" for the moment by our Bishop..Please pray for us I really want to take her in front of the altar and recieve God's blessing because she so deserves it..she lead me back to God coz I had gone astray..🙏
You are so good at explaining your topic, we share almost the same idea and thoughts. You are a gift from God, keep up the good work, God bless you all. xoxo :)
Thanks a lot Fr. Mike for the enlightenment. In 3 to 4 simple sentences you clarified the meaning of what Jesus said about "no marriage nor giving in to marriage in heaven". For a spiritually simpleton like me I was confused as to what Jesus meant by that...ah, very embarassing but I thought there would be no more procreative act in heaven.
Father Mike I am thankful God has brought me to your reflections as I know He has blessed me with His wisdom through you. He must fill you up daily to help Him gather His flock. and make them ready for an eternity Glorifying Him.
Oh man...I have to tell you- I am old enough to be your mother but you are my spiritual father. I am dealing with something RIGHT NOW that is absolutely at the crux of what you are saying Thank YOU for your wisdom
I've never been a fan of change. And after the death of my brother 2 years ago, that was a huge blow. It's been very tough, but it has led me closer and closer to God. So a tragic change has led me toward a better change.
Fr. Mike, I am so grateful to have you as a brother in Christ! Thank you for speaking the truth courageously and with so much love. Praying for you and your ministry!
you're video help us change our youth, since I've got to know your channel I'm just sharing it with all my confused and lost friends, you're sucha blessing,God bless you
Your message is so simple yet so powerful. I lost my father recently, yet we (the whoke family) had a great opportunity of coming together, accepted each other, for we know this life ends. Now family and friends come together to pray for my father's soul and all who have passed and need prayer. Prayer is the greatest weapon we have and it's free. ❤ God is our merciful father. We need to be grateful all day / every day. I'm grateful for you. You are an oasis in this world of trash content. Thank you and God bless you

But it was for this purpose that I came to this hour.

Thankyou for this video. I needed to hear this. Recently I really felt God was talking to me in symbolic ways. Thank you again for helping me make sense of it all.

Father please make Father Mike release the outtakes, we ask this in Christs name amen.
Amen

“Use the good of this world for the goods that will never end.”
I am not catholic and padre pio keeps pushing me in this direction but I truly enjoy your talks!
Hey Jennifer, I pray that you’re still alive and kicking it. I pray for you, your grandmother, and your dog ❤️🙏🏽
And without loss I couldn't have learned all that
Tysm!
Except our relationship with God, this is eternal !
Paul Miller 🌹 I mean that I love Him and He loves me. This will grow, of course and it is, even now, eternal
I see spiritual flexibility as a skill, that I need to train.... especially when dealing with failures
Echa Amen to that!!! May everyone achieve this in their lives
Bloom where you are planted, live in the moment, you can't get prepared you must BE prepared!
One of the things I lean on during tough times is everything will end. No matter how good or how bad, it's going to end. Sounds negative but it's a very freeing mindset!
Cami Rose Amen, set your eyes on the things above.
Beautiful witness, Marilyn Vega. May the Holy Family continue to pray for you.
Marilyn Vega YOU are BRAVE. May God bless you!
Saint Matthew 6:33-34
But seek first the kingdom [of God] and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides.
Listened to this on my mom’s birthday- she passed away 4 years ago. I’d give so much to see her again
How is every vide of yours so great !!!! Love you ❤ God Bless you Father Mike !!! Praying for you ❤🙏🏼
Dealing with a recent break-up. This message hit very close to home. I wish I treasured and showed my appreciation way more than I did.
How true
People are gifts given by the lord
Fr Mike, what you said about married couples still having a special bond even in heaven is something I’ve hoped for my whole life! Thank You for making me feel less insane. Now I continue to pray that I am allowed to have that, as I am currently single.
Attachments prevent us from being flexible too. St Joseph quietly shows us to be flexible.
Even Fr. mike accepts change and that is a part of life. Thanks for making my life and understanding easier. Nothing stays perfect forever and that is a good thing. Forever can be a bad thing.
I love the outtakes! Please keep them!
God bless. We are ALL travelers passing through this planet...

thank you Father Mike! Amazing words. So blessed to have you spreading these messages!
Thanks Father
Not realizing how clinging can really be not only discouraging but extremely hurtful to ourselves and others. We are moving toward God in all things that means leaving behind many many things. Too soon old too late smart! We will be complete in heaven , all the love we need. I wonder will Priests still be Priests in heaven that’s a vocation too. God Bless
Fr Mike I hope those who are rich are watching and they share their wealth to the needy out of love for God.
O God, I offer you, the merits, sufferings and love of Jesus, In atonement for my non-flexible into accept God's Will Amen
Father Mike you handsome devil-may the day never come but it will and when so I hope you are well received. You deserve it and God help us all.
Thank you Father Mike for your prayers, God bless you and may he continue speaking to us thru you! Amen

See what you have. Not what we don’t and see what is eternally God
Thank you Fr. Mike. Please make more relevant videos. These videos you make help us a lot as struggling Christians.
"Use the goods of this world for the goods that will never end"

God Is Leader, of how one facilitates need of God's Word. 🕊
"Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens,
Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
- Hebrews 4:14-16

GIVE ALL THE OUTTAKES
Ok that’s all love the videos hope to meet ya sometime
He must fill you up daily to help Him gather His flock. and make them ready for an eternity Glorifying Him.
its amazing how we get to live with saints in our troubled time. Pray for me father

Thank YOU for your wisdom
I've never been a fan of change. And after the death of my brother 2 years ago, that was a huge blow. It's been very tough, but it has led me closer and closer to God. So a tragic change has led me toward a better change.
Fr. Mike, I am so grateful to have you as a brother in Christ! Thank you for speaking the truth courageously and with so much love. Praying for you and your ministry!

God is our merciful father. We need to be grateful all day / every day. I'm grateful for you. You are an oasis in this world of trash content.
