I'm always so excited when I find a new gardner to watch. Its funny how certain people appeal to you, whether it's their voice, knowledge or gardening style...I really am enjoying your videos, thank you for sharing.
This is a lovely video and amazing timing! I have also been hit with the hydrangea bug. I bought two a year or so ago that were in the discount section. And they have just wowed me as they come back to life. I’ve bought 10 more discount babies this year..!!
I've discovered it wasn't all the sunlight harming my discount babies . It was the very alkaline soil they are in ! I've bought the acidifier for hydrangeas from the garden center. I've kept them in their containers , my soil , mulch, no additives yet . The leaves are full green and lush , growth is stunted but., blooms are everywhere and die soon after before opening . Please I'm not losing these blooms . I've moved planters to a shadier spot and they look so " lush ,green and rested now " . according to gardners I am blessed by your video and beautiful examples of what is to come ! Thank You !
I’m SOOO jealous of your hydrangea collection! I have so many deer that LOVE to eat them. Your video is making me consider taking advantage of the deer repellent program that is offered by the landscape company I work for.
Greetings from South Georgia, used to live in Raleigh. My hubby Ken was in your class and you let me visit lots of classes w/him including visits to arboretum. So happy I found your channel here! Really appreciate
This was a very informative video. I have a hydrangea that is probably 35 or 40 years old and I didn't know what kind it was but after watching this I've decided it must be a mop head. Sometimes it blooms and sometimes it doesn't. Apparently sometimes I've been pruning in the fall and sometimes in the spring and my spring pruning is the culprit. I did notice on closer inspection this year that the blooms that it does have are in the old wood and I had just sort of figured that out. I didn't really understand all about that. And I've just bought two little limes so I know now it's going to be okay to prune those in the spring. Now after watching this I want to try to get one of each of the main types! Thanks for this video!
I love all the information. Thank you so much for all the content. The macro philia hydrangeas now have a variety of options that are re-bloomers that will not just bloom on the old would but will bloom on new wood later in the season. Thank goodness because I’m in zone 6 where we tend to get late frosts which tend to kill the first blush
Ty for this video. I must admit, I have watched this video probably 15 times. Give me so much info and ideas. Ty for time and knowledge... I hope to one day also have a garden such as yours
Please, please, please keep making videos if you can. Your garden is absolutely beautiful - an inspiration! And the knowledge you provide is invaluable. I will watch every video you post. Thank you for sharing!!
Omg....love this. I'm in Pittsboro NC. The purple elephant ear.....is just beautiful! I have several hydrangea...oak leaf being one of my favorite. You have introduced me to several new ones that I must add to my garden this year🙂 Thank you!
Wow! Thank you so much for all the wonderful hydrangea information. I have maybe 13 to 15 is all in a Northern California garden but I learned more from you than I’ve learned from reading tons of books and studying them for years thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful hydrangea Garden. Definitely one of the most informative hydrangea videos on UA-cam. I would be interested to know how you fertilize.
New subscriber for los angels. I just planted macrophylla and I'm a little nervous I might kill it because of the heat. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🙏
Thank you so much for this video. Inspired and educated me. My favorites are the macrophylla but, I’m often disappointed because of late frost. I have many limelight’s because they are reliable bloomers. Going to the nursery tomorrow for some invincibelles! Thank you for the info 😊
Hydrangeas are by far my favorite landscape flowering shrub. My limelight's are just now starting showing buds and I planted three standard macrophylla this spring. They're white now and beautiful, but I'm excited for when they start to really grow and the blooms come in blue. I'm near Raleigh (and an NCSU grad) so I'm excited I found your channel!
My goodness, you’ve shown us so many! Thanks for all this info! You’re garden is spectacular! I’m trying to add different varieties to my yard each year. 🌱🌱🌱🌱
Great video! Hopefully you have more paniculatas somewhere on your property because there are so many more deserving of your precious garden space! I was shocked to only see one. My favorites are Quick Fires, Limelight (as you mentioned), Little Lime, Bobo (blooms it’s little heads off -panicle version of Invincibelle Wee White) Strawberry Vanilla, and Zinfin Dahl
So love your yard I am in northwest fl and love the Bloomstruck hydrangea also the stems are reddish color very upright with cherry pink blooms!! Thankyou
Hi from Zebulon, thank you for sharing your garden. I love my Hydrangea and they are doing very well this year. I have at least 5 different type and want more more more.
You have a beautiful garden. Great assortments of hydrangeas for sure. I just split my hydrangeas & spread them in the garden. I don’t need to propagate.
Wow!! I am so jealous. That looks like Hydrangea heaven!! I can’t believe all the different types you have and all so so gorgeous. I only have nope heads and lace cap. I enjoyed this video very much. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing! Your hydrangea collection is lovely. I'm inspired to plant a few in my backyard but will likely have to wait till the fall since I hear it's too hot to plant these in early summer.
I walked through a nursery in autumn to see which plants have interesting fall color, and at least in the nursery setting the "Twist and Shout" cultivar had the most amazing fall color. It was like a kaleidoscope of every possible different color. Didn't hear you mention it, but I was wondering if it had fall color in your garden. Quickfire hydrangea also had really impressive fall color.
My favorite flower is blue hydrangea. There are many in the south of Brazil and some places in southeast too. (Minhas flores favoritas são as hortênsias). I loved it! Amazing Garden.
Great video. I appreciate your wealth of knowledge of all Hydrangea. I'm in love with every single one. Planted my 1st two last fall, so Im saving this to bring to the garden center for reference. A lovely show & be looking frwd to pt. 2. Thanks so much.💙💞🌸👍
Thank you so much Bryce for all of this wonderful knowledge. We are so grateful that you are able and willing to share your skills and love for these beautiful hydrangeas. Hydrangeas have become my favorite in the garden, and I have planted several of them in my garden since last year. As I'm new to gardening and really a Novice Gardener, I don't know all my hydrangeas and plants by name. So, I save a lot of plant tags 🤣 I saved your video for future reference and you have gained a new Subscriber! 🤗 Question: Which growers carry these beauties? Endless Summer? Proven Winners? Or other growers? Once again, thanks for sharing and God Bless 🙏💐🙏
I love all your hydrangeas. I planted two endless summer and two limelights in my garden, unfortunately the deer snacked on most of the young leaves and flower buds.
I have a blue Endless Summer hydrangea that looks just like yours. So in the spring it starts putting out new growth that comes out of old stems, not from the base. It bloomed sparsely even until the frost got it last week. So is that considered blooming on new growth even though it doesn’t come up from the base of the plant? Since it bloomed basically all summer, do I prune it now or should I have pruned it after it’s first bloom? Thank you for any advice!! Thanks for your videos!!
BEAUTIFUL Garden!! Love all of your hydrangeas.... I have several of them and it would be nice to know how you propagate a hydrangea. I have tried but has not worked for me. I have Limelight, Bobo, Pinky Winky, Strawberry Shake, Endless Summer, and a few other ones. I will like to know how so I can add more to my garden. I’m a zone 5 “Illinois” so it would be great if you do a video showing step by step on propagating a hydrangea. Thank you and again beautiful hydrangeas you have.
My endless summer does flower on new wood and old wood. For the past few years it’s been knocked back by frost and then gone on to flower later in the yea this year we had a very severe late frost in early June following the driest Warmest May .Its alive but struggling so shall be very surprised if it flowers.I have a few small shoots at ground level so all is not lost. I’ve just planted a limelight paniculata and a Vanille Frais so am hoping for success with them.Enjoy your garden 😘🇬🇧
I'm always so excited when I find a new gardner to watch. Its funny how certain people appeal to you, whether it's their voice, knowledge or gardening style...I really am enjoying your videos, thank you for sharing.
