Been very enjoyable mate I love learning about this stuff, could have done without the tight time limit but it is what it is and all turned out alright in the end 🤘 cheers
I think approx 1 week till we set sail mate, provided there are no more holdups 🙈 You guys will have to endure a few more in-between videos before you get that stuff though 😁
You certainly do your homework Josh, nothing like a good montage...anti climatic is awesome 👌 OK.. so my 3 x 120 Ah are connected wrong, I have the negative and positive coming off the one battery, thanks for that Josh, I better fix that..well done Josh, I love your dodgy 12v set up Brother ✌️😊
Some people say it matters, some say it don't 🤷♂ It kinda makes sense to me that it would though. And thanks for your tips on crimping mate hopefully I got it close to right!
Farkenell just as you reached for the switch I got fireballed with a 50 second ad ! Suspense was real, out come well good for you but not as entertaining without the pfft so smoke for us. 😅 Coming on nice 👍
Great job dude, I’ve done all that myself into a ute canopy, the inverter will have a parasitic power use when not being used unless switch is off, but you have heaps of Ah’s , you can just leave the Ac charger turned on , then plug in shore power it’ll just start.
Nice video Josh well explained. The wiring of the batteries, ie. Positive off one battery and negative off the other, I don't think it would matter. A parallel circuit wouldn't care where the feeds come from, both batteries will provide the same power. (I can see what you're getting at though). Just a power saving Idea (but expensive), I use an M1 MacBook Pro running DaVinci resolve to edit my videos, they are a beast for this sort of work, and very low power usage. The adaptor is 60W and can run and charge the laptop at the same time. The fan virtually never comes on and you pretty much can't hear it. I edit straight to an external SSD with no performance loss, of course you have your monitor power as well. But you do need "spare cash laying around" to go down this route. 🤣 All the best looks like an awesome setup.
I fucking loathe Apple 😅 but yeah that would be a pretty sweet option for editing 🤘 And yeah mate I'm not sure how the battery connections would make a difference either but that's what they tell me so 🤷♂ wasn't difficult to do it that way. Cheers!
@@MVDBR Ha ha , thought you might. I was forced over to apple years ago, developing software, but yeah, it's pretty difficult to switch over to apples lack of software/games and customisability, just to name a few. And they're "my way or the highway" attitude. 😂
Yeah it will only draw from the alternator/cranking battery if the voltage is over a certain limit. It also has a 3rd wire you can connect to an ignition source if the vehicle has a smart alternator 🤘
I don't think Elon Musk could figure out what you've done there. He'd pay people to tell him to tell them how to do it! Let's look forward to getting out of winter and getting more sunshine.
I'm enjoying the big bus build mate. it's one of those builds that has been on my bucket list for ages.

Good job Josh, time to start the adventure buddy

That's a FKN MINT set up Josh. 👍
Sure is man, love it 🍻
Thanks for taking the time to explain the installation and the pros and cons of the system. Cheers mate happy travels 🚐🏍️
I only hope that at least some of it made any sense Alex, cause most of it didn't make much sense to me 😅 Cheers mate

@MVDBR dodgy tips, looked good, I like your hydrolic crimper, I guess that did the trick, lucky you got 3 hands ✌️😋
@@holisticaustralia 🍻😬
Had the same set up in the motorhome i had , worked reallly well! 🎉, never ran out of power.
Awesome, just needs a tiny bit more solar for my needs 😏 Cheers Peter

A smarter UA-camr would have faked it to make it 😅 Onya Davros 🤘
Far out josh ,living the dream ye ,take care mate ,keep an eye out for dry cells in battery's when on shore power mate ,stay safe 👋🤠👍
Far out cobber cheers
Thanks I appreciate the info on off grid power devices
No worries man thanks for watching 🤙

Yeah have left the charger on now, too much of a pain to get to 😅 cheers
Getting excited to see you on the road!
🤙 hopefully next week 😎

Look at adding a wind turbine for the cloudy days.
Shit yeah it's been windy enough to blow dogs off chains here lately, turbine would be CRANKING out the amps 🤘 cheers
Nice work Josh, what rhymes with shunt?
Vagina? Potato? 😏 Cheers Luke
Awesome 👍
Thanks man!
Does your MPPT act as a battery isolator to avoid draining the main battery?
Yeah it will only draw from the alternator/cranking battery if the voltage is over a certain limit. It also has a 3rd wire you can connect to an ignition source if the vehicle has a smart alternator 🤘
@@MVDBR Tidy little unit!

Mate I copied my wiring diagram off one of his satellite blueprints, hope he doesn't notice 😏 Yeah f this cold rainy weather I'm with you bro
