- US State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel on Tuesday embarrassed himself with his decision to dodge most of the questions, all directed at Israeli atrocities in Gaza.

When it comes to Israel crimes, it is always '' We are aware however we not sure about the when, where and how. We are letting Israel investigate and we are not going to comment on it right now'' When it comes to Hamas, Iran, Yemen '' we are appalled by their actions. They are violating international law and we will not accept that. We gave Israel the green light to respond as they please.''

It is clear that they are committed to colonialism and militarism, because if it were just the Israel lobby, that would have been overwhelmed by the polls showing huge majorities against continued arms transfers to Israel, and basic majorities in favor of a Palestinian state. If it were just politics, the upper midwest would have taken care of it. This is a deep, multi-generational project of colonization, and it will take a deep, multi-generational movement to end it.

The critical journalists should coordinate an 'attack' on this joker: Start every question in a very similar way, always attacking the same empty phrase. "I don't want to get ahead of this process" is a particularly good candidate: "When Israel made accusations against UNRWA without providing any evidence, the UN started a process to find out if there was any truth to this. The government decided to get ahead of this process and stop funding UNRWA, and you decided to get ahead of this process and insinuate that these accusations were true. Now that the UN's process has concluded with an exoneration of UNRWA, what exactly is the process that you now don't want to get ahead of which prevents you from apologizing?" (Not sure about the underlying facts; I didn't research what this joker said in the past about this. This is just an example of how to expose this type of rhetoric for what it is.)
