There are limitations to the portrait images, length being one of them. It is best practice to have a good image that goes to the waist line, that way they're not too big. That is the problem with the Nikki Cross image, it needs more at the bottom to have more to work with.
Great template man, the only problem right now is they have inconsistent sizing for custom renders in each mode. So it could look great in selection, but look like crap in Universe, looks bigger than they should be in match up screen and other modes. Hope this gets patched
So, I've followed this tutorial exactly (and it's amazing btw), but on the match screen the custom renders are *slightly* taller than the real-life superstars. What am I doing wrong? I'm autistic and I've got OCD so it's really fucking with my brain hahaha
You can extend below the 'nikki cross point' if you want (to make it smaller), but there are programming issues on the dev side that make images wonky in matchup screens and other areas of the game. There isn't much you can do

The size the image needs to be formatted to is 1024x1024. You should absolutely have an image from the internet that is at least bigger than that. Even image scaling isn't perfect, so the bigger the image, the better. It's always better to size an image down than it is to size an image up.

That's on their end. We can only format to 1024x1024, what they do with it is beyond us.

Could you show how it looks in MyGM? The renders look a little different there compared to this game mode (exhibition)

These custom renders look so small in the roster menu, how to solve this issue?
Depends which menu, this generally only applies to the character selection screen, if it's too small, make sure the head is higher in the green area.
