Another thing i realized is the utility of the queso cannon has over recoiless is you can "reload" on the move. Which is so helpful on harder difficulty
In light armor I have carried the recoilless but you're always looking for the next stall spot to reload in and you need the extra speed to make it viable.@@Claysthetics
@@Claysthetics It would be nice if you could team reload from the shooters own backpack. That would be faster and easier than pulling ammunition from your own backpack and loading it for someone so it would make sense. Getting a team reload from people would also be easier if you didn't have to ask them to give up a backpack slot lol.
I love this gun so much it's like the autocannon and railgun mixed. I really hope no nerf happens as I think yes it packs a punch the tradeoff is the cooldown and having to charge it up. Reminds me of the spartan laser from halo. Great video dude!
You're spot on, they nailed the audio and how it feels to shoot. It gives me the strongest Akira shoulder-mounted laser cannon vibes, now I want vehicles even more. It does feel strong but at this point over 140hrs in it feels like you can win with most things as long as you have at least 2 good players. I'm also maxed out on sample storage so I only care about mission completion and medals as I try to 100% all the warbonds.
Essentially a stright up upgrade to the recoilless rifle, but in "energy" base weapon. No need for ammo or reload just wait for cooldown and cooldown is not that long infact it is resonable! Best part while its on cooldown you can use your other weapons in the meantime.
This has mostly replaced the Recoilless for me. And you didn't mention it, but being able to "feather" the trigger to slow down and time your shots in case an enemy decides to turn towards a teammate all of a sudden can be helpful to prevent you from wasting shots. Not that wasting shots is the end of the world. The thing I hate about playing with the Spear or RR is feeling like I'm hogging all the ammo. I hate being "that guy" who has to vacuum up all the resources just to remain combat effective.
My friend was destroying big armor with this while I ran sickle/autocannon to handle the small and medium bugs respectively. That thing was just deleting chargers and bile titans. The only bugs that posed us any danger were the ones that crash the game. I'm almost tempted to see if PS5 is more stable but they don't have cross-save yet.
Big weakness on the shield devistator is aiming for his backpack which is a huge target from the front. Easy kill from the sides or rear. Primary just shreds it :)

@@Boamere I think almost every sight in the game is misaligned except the sickle variant. Idk if they will ever fix it but the amo eco and handling are also terrible
@@Claysthetics The only way to run it is with the reduced recoil armor as then it doesn't throw your character around. Even then, you're forced to run a supply pack because of the ammo. Such a weird weapon--it made me try out the regular MG on Helldive for a couple operations and it's far better than the HMG.
while i hope they dont touch the can quasar too much, a longer cooloff with the ability to open the heatsink vent via reload for a faster cd rate would be aight id say (150% current cd ->75% current cd if you open the vent). idealy it would slow you to jogging speed at max but it would probably slow you to acid slow if not flat out immobilize you, i just pray they dont take a pre-change plasma approach and make it damage you as long as we dont have a heal drone
What's your opinion on where the enemy ai's at at the moment? I stopped playing when the new warbond came out when Bot ai especially was fond of crossmapping you as soon as you dropped into a mission. Has it improved at all or is it still wonky?
I tried this weapon on several difficulties and vs both adversaries and after about a dozen missions......I'm back to the Disposable Anti-Tank. Why? For the very reason that it takes forever to spool up and shoot, I can call in one DAT and have two shots every 60 seconds. Can you get off 4 shots with your Quasar in 60 seconds? Can you snapshot a Bile Titan in the mouth twice in about 10 seconds? You get one shot to him in that time. Also, if you die and are getting swarmed, it's nearly impossible to get your quasar back....me? I just break contact and throw down another 2 Anti Tanks. I can litter the battlefield with anti-tanks as I roam around, so when we are running for extract, we have them at our disposal....and notice the word "we"...yeah those of you running the quasar and had to leave it behind now have a heavy hitting anti-tank you can grab! Truth is...in a group of 3-4 it's smart to run 1-2 Anti-Tank and 1-2 quasars...they do have their time and place....but once they are dropped, you NEED the DAT's lying around to carry you through.
I don't really feel that its useful to close bugholes, some nests have 5+ holes, and you don't have over a minute to keep waiting for every shot. So I don't really feel like it frees up a grenade slot. Also if there are 4/5+ Medium Armor targets like walkers or Devestators for bots, I sadly feel a bit done for with that weapon, cuz waiting for the shots to recharge kills me if there are too many, which easily can happen
@1:15 I've tried it on a cold planet and it felt like it was reloading faster than 10 sec. Interesting that it's not longer on hot planets though :) Correction: It visually cools down faster but doesn't let you shoot any faster.
I really hope they don't nerf it. It's just strong enough to be fun without rapid fire. If they nerf it, it will likely kill my enthusiasm for the game.

Queso the new Railgun, inb4 Arrowhead nerf and the ‘crutch, skill issue git gud’ horde coalesces from the screeching mists of Robotnam. No but seriously my favourite part about it is that we finally have something that can consistently and efficiently take out heavies again. Energy weapons are very meta right now primarily because of that consistency but also because you simply don’t have to deal with the biggest downside a lot of the ballistic/kinetic weapons in the game suffer from which is garbage ammo economy and in some cases, mediocre AP and damage too. At this point I’m in favour of Arrowhead hitting pause on new content and just letting the devs take a couple of weeks to balance better what’s already in the game and iron out the bugs/crashes that still need fixing.
i dont think the Quasar Cannon is overpowered. Its quite difficult to use. its very difficult if you try to solo or 2 man a mission with it. you really need a solid team. you often get hit when your trying to charge it and it shoots off into space instead. you also have to be very good with your primary weapon and you cant use the secondary as a crutch as it will only take off the large guys.
HMG sucks, it has barely any ammo and the recoil is still ridiculous when lying prone. Spear still needs serious buffs, the tracking lock-on is so bad. I hope we don't see another round of "nerf decent weapons" instead of buffing the ones that aren't fun to use.
If they start nerfing shit that just feels good to play and do nothing about broken garbag like that new hmg thwy added im done with this game. Devs have a nice facade to them that is bordering on incompetence with the shit they let go through to the live build like there is no qa at all

Does a gun really need a tutorial? I wasn’t impressed by it I’d be more impressed. If divers can make operational equipment not come 3 feet out of the ground so it can actually be activated.

It's good, but I feel like at no point in time you should have more than 2 of those on the team.
