UPDATE: absolutely incredible day, we found buzzer BG AND shaker today thanks to todd edwards livestreaming all the samps from face to face!
Awesome!!! 👏
AYO>???? AYO????
Do you have a link to the livestream?
@@GECR_2001 ua-cam.com/video/z8vfJgK2fyc/v-deo.html not sure but i found this 😄
So what’s left now?
Bro, I swear new samples get found for this song daily.
Officially the sampling masterclass
Most of them would have been cleared had Daft Punk remembered what samples they were picking up from the crate. they themselves forgot which ones they used and threw away
gonna take another decade to find these damn samples
I mean, they found like half the samples in 2 years, so maybe it won't take that long.
@@Kirbman that was because of google mostly anything not picked up by google is a lot harder
@@highvisibilityraincoat Yeah, fair enough.
Or someone such as DJPasta will magically find one tomorrow 😛 We honestly didn't think that Dave Mason BG would be found for the longest time when someone pointed it out around a year or two ago, and DJPasta just found it like a few weeks ago. It's totally possible!
Well, there's only one left now. And considering there is already an extended chop of the sample, it could happen any moment now.
Todd Edwards is just a genius. The way he made this "collage" of microsamples is insane. Some people didn't like "Fragments Of Time" because they expected more but I love it because you can hear the collage technique being applied in a clever way so they don't disrupt the track and sound like some guitar and synth notes being glued together.
in an interview todd edwars said that most of it was done by thomas, since he was just with them, they were shy and thomas adapted to todd's style
Wait, Todd didnt produce this, he just sang? Hes not credited at least
@@kideriksson I'm pretty sure he was involved in the production in a way or another. You can have a look on his discography and this musical technique is almost exclusive from him. Todd also has an unofficial version of Face to Face with garage house percussions and rhythm.
@@kiderikssonI think he helped produce the samples and collected some
shaker sounds so cool
The Guitar Notes are: Rockie Robbins - Nothing Like Love
The Disco Track are: Deborah Washington - The Letter
please shaker please shaker
I bet you're freaking out right now
@@BrandNewHexagon yes I am
thug shaker
3/4 down. One stands. Thank you Todd.
I still can't believe today happened
Shaker could possibly just be part of the Face to Face but could also be a sample from a disco or funk beat song
well guess what? shaker was found today!
looking back at it, i love how clean the isolations are
I knew I heard a guitar on the cymbal sample. I had a conversation with a few sample hunters about it a while back and they insisted it was part of another sample.
@@Portadanx I still wholeheartedly believe that it's part of whatever that cymbal sample is.
@@Portadanx Seems like we were right all along.
The last remaining sample is Rockie Robbins Nothing Like Love.
Its over.
We can finally sleep
I'm glad I attempted to spread awareness regarding the sample when my efforts couldn't be reached. But we finally did it! It even matches the low view count logic I had in my head.
Tbh I still feel like the "shaker" is most likely a stretched out guitar riff like the Tell It To My Face one. I wish I had that audio recognition thing to play with.
Apparently, the equipment they most likely used to make the song didn't support stretching sound samples, only pitch changing.
@@KirbmanDaft Punk incorporated a Mac running MicroLogic, which had been used on Homework, for some of the arrangement/composition. I'd imagine Logic probably had time-stretching capabilities back then
@@pc_buildyb0i935 That could be the case, however none of the F2F samples have been found to be time stretched.
@@Kirbman Good point, maybe Logic didn't have that capability back then. Or maybe they just didn't use it for F2F

daft Man punk
I said this on another video there are missing parts to the songs!!! They clearly shrunk the song for air time or the music videos. The order and length of voyager is different than the vinyl demo!!
Jesus christ man Todd Edwards is a beast when it comes to sampling
Todd Edwards and Daft Punk. He wasn't the only one that did the sampling on Face to Face
20+ years and samples are still being found
ik im a week late but finally
Maybe the cymbal/muted guitar is actually from Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks
That doesn't sound like the song Todd showed on his livestream.
It's Nothing Like Love by Rockie Robbins.
pls find shakeeerrr

Daft Punk's album "Random Access Memories" (RAM) is widely regarded as a masterpiece in electronic music, blending various genres like disco, funk, and electronic pop. While many fans appreciate its musical excellence and innovation, some might feel that it doesn't quite serve as a satisfying final album for the duo. There are a few reasons behind this sentiment and why some might have wished for more albums before Daft Punk's retirement.
1. **Innovative Sound:** RAM showcased Daft Punk's ability to evolve their sound and push the boundaries of electronic music. The album's extensive use of live instrumentation, including collaborations with renowned musicians, gave it a unique and nostalgic feel. The tracks were meticulously crafted with intricate details, making it a rich and rewarding listening experience.
2. **Nostalgia and Experimentation:** The album paid homage to the disco and funk eras while infusing modern electronic elements. This blend of nostalgia and experimentation resonated with both old and new fans. The success of RAM suggested that Daft Punk could continue exploring this hybrid style and potentially create more albums in a similar vein.
3. **Artistic Depth:** RAM delved into themes of memory, human connection, and the passage of time. It felt like a reflective and introspective project, which left room for the duo to explore these themes further in subsequent albums. This depth left fans curious about where Daft Punk's artistic journey might have led them next.
4. **Legacy and Evolution:** Throughout their career, Daft Punk consistently evolved their musical style, from the early days of "Homework" to the futuristic "Discovery" and the experimental "Human After All." RAM felt like another step in their musical evolution, leaving fans excited to see how their sound could continue to evolve and surprise in the future.
5. **Unfinished Possibilities:** While RAM was a fantastic album, its release didn't necessarily feel like a definitive conclusion to Daft Punk's musical journey. There were still unexplored avenues they could have pursued, whether it was further refining the fusion of genres, diving deeper into electronic experimentation, or taking on entirely new musical directions.
6. **Cultural Impact:** Daft Punk's influence on electronic music and pop culture is undeniable. Fans might have wished for them to leave an even greater mark with additional albums, considering how their work often shaped trends and influenced other artists.
In summary, while "Random Access Memories" is a remarkable album that showcased Daft Punk's musical prowess and artistic growth, it left fans with a sense of potential unrealized directions. The album's success and its exploration of new sounds and themes made it seem like the duo had more to offer, leading some to believe that a couple more albums could have further enriched their discography before their retirement.
I want a full version of Face to Face without the drum beat is there one?
