- As much as I appreciate everyone’s concern and advice in regards to how to ride, how not to ride, saddle fit, possible pain issues and any other words of wisdom, I can assure you that Donald is bucking because this was his first time being allowed to do anything other than walk in hand in nearly 2 years.
He was rehabbing from a major ligament injury.
Owing to the fact that he is and always has been a complete lunatic when turned out in the field it was not possible to give him Field rest.
Even now he jumps the 6 foot fence or gate to come back to his stable when he has had enough turnout.
Again thank you for the concern , but this video is a compilation of his exciting outbursts of the course of a 10 minute ride. His first bit of trot work in nearly 2 years.
He has always been a very excitable horse and is also a top level competitor. Thank you for your concerns,
I’m pleased to confirm that he has now returned to international level competition and is aiming for the Paris Olympics next year for team Ireland. Fingers crossed you will see us there.
Kind regards
Fred and Donald. - Розваги
Boy, this rider does everything right: stays deep in the saddle and moves hands forward. Impressive!
I have never in my entire life seen someone sit so solid and not leave the saddle once, with a horse throwing shapes like that! I need lessons in how to become super glued to the saddle no matter what 😂
He has natural relaxed balance. Kind of Zen.
Now that is a SEAT !!! Amazing riding 😍
I have never seen anyone with this quiet of a seat 🥵
Top level horse - top level rider! Well done. Calm, quiet, kind.
Donald was just having fun and these pig roots were just playing. Well done on a beautiful quiet seat and letting him enjoy himself letting off steam.
BEAUTIFULLY RIDDEN MATE!!!!!
He’s obviously feeling well!
i have to say I'm impressed with the composition and stickability! Especially when he went sideways and then did those two huge rears. You could tell from his body language that he was letting of huge amounts of "go" and probably frustration at all the changes. This may not be something a traditional british rider would immediately reach for but natural horsemanship/groundwork could have also resolved that (Steve Young springs to mind - has a channel here too. I've never seen such expertise and compassion combined. He brings horses back from the absolute brink in a matter of hours) But it seems like you found your own way and if you can sit out those bucks then I guess it worked! Well done with your combined achievements. A beautiful looking horse.
Lovely! Well sat and kindly ridden.
Wow, incredible riding! The horse looked as though he had springs for legs! He still looked graceful as he let off steam, and his ears were pricked and interested. Even with my limited knowledge I know horses in pain or discomfort do not respond like this!
I agree!! Great horsemanship. Beautiful seat on that horse despite all his antics. He stays calm, does not lose his temper and just keeps the horse moving forward. Well done!
A very secure seat and calm nature on display!
You have a very nice seat and I can't help but laugh that that horse was so glad to be out.
Beautiful horse! Amazing rider! Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful to see such a level of horesemanship
Wow.... beautiful horse and a very talented and calm rider obviously with superglue at the saddle ;)
Great job!
That rider is amazing. Wow...
fair play to the rider
Damn, talk about a good seat !
He might be objecting to the draw reins and being held into a tight frame before he has warmed up and stretched enough. He Is being ridden somewhat behind the bit and it is a cooler day.
spot on
I think you should get on and give it a go, heck he would probably never buck if he was ridden bareback and bridleless! Go on and show us how it’s done! 😂
@@Bluemoonfarm17I would get him back into training by starting with lots of regular groundwork. Then I'd add quiet hacking with a sensible companion before riding in the school where I would start on a long rein in a relaxed walk. It's clear this horse has been pushed too fast into resuming normal work. It needs to go back to basics and introduced slowly back into work and done properly, no reason he couldn't go bareback and bridleless.
@@sarahwagland1559 I agree with all you said here. However, apparently the rider was pushing this horse to return to work so quickly because he says in the description under the video that he hopes to compete with this horse in the Paris Olympics, so he was in a hurry to rush back into training when the horse's injury healed. I agree with your approach, Sarah.
Holy crap! Horse knows he has the upper hand. Keep at it or call Steve Young.
is beautiful how he doesnt fall
Rider needs to remove draw reins. Horse is feeling claustrophobic. Needs long and low warm up with relaxation.
Nice riding.
Great Riding-feet (yours) on the dashboard ❤❤❤
Excitement, or just another horse sick of having its mouth constantly yanked on. Anyone with eyes and a shred of intelligence can see the obvious. But the equestrian community will say "Look how happy that horse is, he's saying , more please, pull harder, force my chin on to my chest, I love it". I used to think farmers and hunters were the cruest people on the planet, but watching many equestrians, I think they take that prize
When will chin to chest go away? So unnatural
bestie did you even read the title?
How about you go show them how it's done?
How immature you are.
Exzellent Rider 👍
Got a little Western there for a few minutes! Exciting!!!!!
Wow!! What an amazing rider! Well sat!
Good rider👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yeah!
HOW! I wish I had that good of a seat!
This looks like saddle pain being a saddle fitter my selft
Interesting outlook. Something to follow up on, for sure.
Looks like he wants some damn free time in a pasture instead of nonstop confinement by walls or reins.
So many horses are abused, treated inhumanely, and taken advantage of. It is sickening. This horse is CLEARLY uncomfortable/in pain. Why the f**k do so many riders weigh their horses down with strangling, super constricting, and painful reins/bits? I really feel for these amazing animals...by far the most abused of all the animals in the world! 💔💔
Agree with you absolutely. The horse looks to be in pain.
You make it sound like all horse riding is abusive and all riders are abusive to their horse/horses
@@thestanleylife I never said all, but, yes, many, imo.
@@funshine817 This horse is definitely not in pain. Did you not read the title?
@@ThatBuckskinPony What does the title have to do with anything? 🤣 Titles mean nothing on UA-cam. I stand by what I said...that horse was in pain.
A new super hero is born. It's Velcro Man 😂
Wow what a seat?!!!!
The horse looks very uncomfortable…asked to be totally restricted in the neck, transferring the discomfort thru to the back, after no work for 18 mths…I’d behave like that too.
Spicy horse ❤ (my horse is that spicy that my friend who is a very good rider refuses to ride him) 😢
REALLY hope the horse was allowed to be turned out after 18 mos of box rest. Going straight from stall to saddle would be cruel and unusual punishment!
Regardless of reasons from horse perspective... as going to trust such a rider knows their horse well enough to know. That's an amazing seat. Wow!
Maybe when I was 18 years old many many moons ago I could stay on such moves... glued to saddle with balance & still reins. -- I miss being able to ride, but have put up my saddle & keep feet on the ground. Takes strength & balance & skills that I no longer possess. Very nice Mr. Scala.
Whoa!
That seat 😮💨👌
Well ridden
I have been using draw reins I took them off today and got bucked off😳
Woohoo!...ride'm cowboy😅
Yes-Haw!
Yee-haw!!! Well sat!
That doesn't look like excitement
That horse is just fresh!!!! The rider is doing everything right!!!!
@@user-gc3lm2nh7bthey didn’t say the rider is doing anything wrong?
@@Idkk12340 and no one said anything different... getting offended for no reason
Fr
It acting like kids going back to school after summer vacation
This is why I recommend giving your horses a large lunge before your ride if they’ve been on box rest for a while.
Well, on the lunge they can do much worse, risking re-injury maybe
Came here to say this
@@kidamaroo I wasn’t trying to hate, just giving a suggestion.
@@Eq.mochii so was I.
Looks like too much too soon!!! Great seat, but listen to your horse, he’s not happy 😳
What breed is he
I don't ... want to go back to work...god dammit human!
I'm going to talk to my lawyer...I demand snacks!!!
What audacity!!!
I imagine it with a British accent
Flippin heck....well sat
0:24 man the horse was in pain😢but the rider did not panic and has great balance🎉[I edited it to put the celebration emoji😊]
LOl Working the corners off to get that top level event horse, lol....sometimes....
Dang where do you get those sticky britches? I gotta get me some! 😂
Go Donald! Hopefully we’ll see you in Paris.
Metal in the horses mouth, flash nose band to prevent horse from avoiding pain from metal in the mouth, draw reins to keep horse from pulling his head up and to prevent him pulling the reins from the riders hand-oh, but he pat the horse on the neck at the end of the video so that must mean he loves it!
The equestrian community is such a joke.
He was not pulling at all. And those were for safety. The horse had been in a stall for 18 months. What do you expect?
Wonder if his antics stopped or is he/she always like that
Read the title.
This horse is playing and having a good time, and the rider is doing an excellent job keeping his seat.
Why the need for the draw reigns
As long as people think that this is GREAT rinding and horsemanship, then the horseworld has a problem! This is cruel, unfair, abuse and stupid....Wake up Horseworld!
How--? Please explain the logic here.
This horse is not bucking because he wants to get the rider off. He's bucking because he just feels really good after not being able to do anything for a really long time
Ngl I would've been of in less than a second XD
They kept the horse in a box for 18 months?
Yes because the horse was sick or lame
no, it bucks because of the draw reins, its in pain in the neck
Draw reins don't hurt them
@@ThatBuckskinPonyoh they most certainly do!
@@spellywelly How--?
@@spellywelly They literally don't tho---
This horse does not look happy at all. He is resisting something, whether it’s the bit or the saddle, or maybe he’s not ready to be ridden yet. Did you go straight to this from “box rest”? Has he had any turnout time? I’m not an expert, but I’d definitely say he is being pushed too hard, too quickly.
Looks like hes not happy with his bridle connected to the girth keeping his head down..
The rider was not pushing at all. He was just letting the horse have a moment.
Something is pissing that horse off.
The horse has been in a stall for 18 months. That's what it is.
Horses don’t buck in excitement, that horse *IS IN PAIN*.
The hell they don't! They'll buck just like this when you turn em out to pasture on a cool morning.
Watch one roll in the field and then get up and buck and kick. They buck for the sheer fun of it
@@farmhome904 FRR
😂😂 your comment made me laugh 😂
@@Clairek1985 frrr
Why not just that horse out for a good long run and trail ride? Let him be a little free, then go bsck to "work."
The horse is not fit at all and would most likely buck the rider off and run away. Also there would be a risk of re-injury.
Poor horse
How?
Needs a few belts.
Bloody well sat mate!!!!
