Excellent. As far as the faith goes I like the clarification but I will say I borrowed some of your faith Dan in the beginning because I thought how the heck can this be ! This is shockingly close to my story down to losing the best friend from kindergarten...not from suicide but cancer that i didn't know had come back 😢I said out loud what the meds were going to be before he said them
Dan, I am listening to this great interview who showes how great work you accomplish for us. I was thinking about one thing what I hear a lot; we 'complain' about the doctors who are NOT interested in finding the cause or even look at the influence side of the brain/mind. I think for sure that's true, but what makes that worse is that the majority of people also really don't want to hear or look at the influence of the brain/mind. People are some kind of afraid or ashamed to look at themselves and start making themselves 'better'. It is so much easier to blame the injury or doctor or therapist and it feels saver to 'hide' behind their injury/illness label..... When I talked to some people (my brother for example) about you and the work, he became very upset and angry; he felt misunderstood and it was a laugh that his mind is the problem. And in those conversations it is soooo important to keep on mentioning what you do; you do not make up the pain, the pains are REAL!!!! it is not your fault, you just ended up here. I sincerely hope that we can infect each other in a good way to be more open about this, and that there is nothing, nothing to be ashamed about! Also there is no catch or downside by just trying to follow your tips (and other TMS practioners). Just be kind and loving to yourself, forgive yourself and start this new journey for the sake of yourself and the people around you. Big hug to all of you
Thank you both so much for this. It was an inspiring watch. I particularly liked it when you were like work, relationships, life might not seem ok but you’re going to be ok. You don’t need to stress about it. My stomach pain literally dispersed with this thought of not having to worry. Thku x

@@PainFreeYou thankyou Dan yes im now rooted in fear and lack of trust. 3 pm today with my therapist. I want a virtual with you. Maybe late Dec early Jan. Direct me!
Thank you for this video. I’ve been going thru this for 11 years. At first I’d always rush to doctor. They usually found nothing., then, I recognized the pattern of pain moving around and taking diff forms. I found Dr Sarno early on and it made total sense, altho i have not been able to make it stop. Usually after a doctor doesn’t find anything or if it’s ambiguous, my mind lets it go and i heal and start over with a new “thing.” I’ve been under a lot of stress and for the past 5 months, it’s been a revolving door of pain and shifting pain. I just realized listening yo the video that it’s likely financial stress that came up around that time. Anyway The latest symptom is what feels like tooth pain. I’ve noticed this ongoing (one of a few that move around) since 2016. At first I’d run to dentist. But now I have a rule that I wait two weeks and see how it feels. But it’s insidious like you mentioned- And because there have been a few times a bit down and had a sharp pain I thought I better have it checked. I don’t want to go looking for it wasn’t there, but then the fear kicked in that what if somethings really wrong. So when I went to the dentist knowing that it could be TMS but not sure, she found a crack in the back molar. Obviously we don’t know if it’s causing pain and we don’t know if getting a crown will resolve anything. I am in a position of if I let it wait then the crack could be a problem further down the road. Stressed to have to have a crown It could be more problematic. Between a rock and a hard place on getting it fixed or not. But knowing full well that it likely is not what it seems to be. And this just stresses me more. During this 11 years of this pain coming and going with nothing ever resolved, I’ve never been able to make it stop. Even after a tremendous amount of internal work. In fact it seems to be intensifying- but I see a direct correlation to financial stress, fear, repressed anger, and catastrophic thinking going crazy. The terrible thing about TMS is when you’re barely coping, and the cycle of physical pain makes it barely possible to get a foothold on functioning and remedying the external stressors. It’s an awful mental cycle/physical.
Everything you say at the end of the video at 54 minutes is exactly what I’ve been going through all of it financial relationship wise every level and it’s very reassuring to understand I haven’t realized the stress I’ve been dealing with and why my body would give me this pain to distract me even though I figured out what was going on I haven’t really connected it to this level until this video. Will definitely look at your program thank you
Going back to the fundamentals. Perceived danger is what turns on pain. Keeps it going too. If that's the case, teaching the brain we are not in danger is the solution. Yes, we will always have life stress, but we do not need to have pain as a result. @@PainFreeYou Thank you. I kept reminding myself of feeling safe last night. Also on a side note: I am now so often confused when issues come up in the body and I don’t want to get it checked. I feel like I wouldn’t know if something was really wrong bc of this pattern of doctors do not find anything. I wonder if you’ve made a video on how to handle that? Now I err on side of not going to get it checked bc it’s exhausting. But if you don’t get it checked you sit with worry until it subsides. Or if you get a diagnosis like w dentist finding a cracked tooth you don’t trust it. Anyway ty again!! 😊 I’m going to go thru all the videos and check out the program info.
I keep watching Johns story as I have similar facial and upper body symptoms that keep ramping up and down . Tonight is pushing me ... and his story is amazing. He is so strong ❤.
keep going! You can overcome this. My fibro symptoms are very similar - even had a back spasm just watching this video!! But now I'm implementing Dan's knowledge and I know I can get better.
@@HobzyMcRuse Thank you. I'm still here.. trying to find away through nerve pain ans facial pain..being particularly intense. Its a journey. Sending you best wishes
@@rebeccachew2321 Just stick to the process. Flare Ups come and go. If you constantly practise calming the mind, your symptoms will gradually decrease. Don't set an end date, don't force it and try to go about your life without fear and paying it indifference. I know what it's like. I get all the symptoms - It's crazy when I wake up, like I'm being electrocuted, ants in my head, back ache, sore limbs, tinnitus, fatigue etc, but since listening to Dan and practising 'somatic tracking' and TMS brain retraining stuff, I'm getting a little better. It will probably take a couple of years to be symptom free but it's better than the alternative. Stick to the process. You will get there! xx
@@HobzyMcRuse Thanks for your message. I only just saw it. I have come back to this video today as i need reminding how the brain really can create such bad symptoms and how its possible to heal . I also have mostly all issues on one side face head rib, arm and little patches on leg, although upper body is worse, nerve and weird intense sensation, also recently nausea which is a nice one to add to the list !! hope you are ok
TMS really sucks!! Remember, your recovery depends on how well you respond to symptoms. We will always feel worse if we focus on the symptoms in a negative way. (I know I tend to complain about my symptoms too much) I've started light weights and gentle cardio and although it causes flare ups it definitely will help as the body will create stronger neural pathways in response to the exercise. After a month or so the symptoms improve but it has to be GRADUAL. Gentle exercise is key! Exercise will lift your mood and make symptoms less severe and less frequent. Do lots of relaxed breathing and eat a healthy junk-free diet with enough protein and omega 3 fats. Don't set a time limit. Smile, socialise and laugh a lot. Watch comedies. Live your life and stop caring about the symptoms and you will get there!! Recovery takes as long as it takes.@@rebeccachew2321
I rub or Pat my arm lightly when I can hear the voice in my head, blaming me for my symptoms. I think of how I would treat my children and I try to give myself a visible physical feeling of that care.
Wow just came across this recovery story, sounds a lot like me with my constant burning arm and leg pain, it actually started with random hypothermia (no cause for it) and I was sweating through the sheets for weeks and shaking with cold shivers 24/7 for weeks before the pain started. Wonder if this is something to do with the nervous system kind of collapsing from too much stress!
I' ve been in chronic pain so long I can't remember what is like not to be. Now my relationship is ending and I have to move and I'm 62. I'm so stressed, I'm scared of a flare up as it's the last thing I need yet I know the fear can cause the flair up. I'm afraid of my fear now!
wonderful video! I wondered how, if one is in intense pain, is it possible to be indifferent? I can be indifferent to minor irritations, or annoyances, but how is it possible to "flip off" some major pain and go on with your day ?
This video is encouraging. I think I’m struggling with accepting TMS because I’ve been diagnosed with two autoimmune diseases and fearful of getting another. I’m waivering in belief this approach will help. BUT, I know that autoimmune is inflammation, and inflammation is caused/or worsened by my brain. I am quite uncomfortable with the symptoms I’m experiencing, but nothing compared to the level of physical/mental anguish this man describes. If he can manage through this, so can I. Thank you gentlemen.
Hey Chris. Something to note - when in the stress response / fight or flight, the digestive and immune systems are suppressed. And if you are stressing about an immune system issue, you are not allowing the immune system to return to balance. I do believe that stress and perceived danger can allow these "immune system "diseases" to occur. There is literally ZERO downside to the approach I teach daily in my vieos. www.PainFreeYou.com/start
Did John have structural lower back/pelvic issues ruled out or just the issues with the jaw pain? I believe him, I just was wondering if I missed that part as I have similar sxs from a number of sacroiliac nodules resulting from a ligament tear and repetitive dance injury.
Trying to figure out if he has a match of your exact physical characteristics is not necessary. Do the assessments to see how YOUR pain behaves. If it shows TMS, then the structure of your body is not the cause of your symptoms. That's great news and means you can teach your brain to turn the pains off. IsThisTMS.com
@@PainFreeYou oh, I wasn’t trying to match his pain. Mine is bad enough, thank you. Just doesn’t move around so I doubt it’s TMS, but yes, stuck in fight or flight is absolutely exacerbating it. Thanks so much.
Damn ...really really dont want to be a downer but . I was super excited my headaches, head and neck pains were TMS AT FIRST.... now I'm a bit afraid of the path to hopefully healing. Alan Gordon and one of his PRT coaches made it seem like you super lucked out with TMS as what wrong, and that you then do the work and get out of pain . I thought most people get better in 3 to 6 months on average without too many new symptoms. Man .......
Your symptoms will lift when you successfully neutralize your fear. The story you are telling yourself above is creating more fear and danger. Do the opposite. You can and will get well.
I don't really understand a part of it. You say you had a call booked with Dan, symptoms then lessened and you were sure it would be gone in 3 months. Then it went back up and you booked another call. And then suddenly you had 3 weeks where you barely noticed it and you cancelled the call? Is it because you worked on the ruminating and catastrophizing or what did you do in the mean time?
I'm not able to give out anyone's personal contact information, but if you send me your info through my contact page, I can pass it along to him. I have no idea if he's up to speak with others, but I can ask. www.painfreeyou.com/contact
Anyone with shooting/zapping throat pain also happens in ear and jaw My symptoms align with glossopharyngeal neuralgia… but mine are not excruciating pain as they describe… also happens very randomly It’s not triggered by swallowing / chewing and etc I also had an overall nerve pain that is almost 95% gone thanks to Dan … it was totally TMS So I came back here … thinking it’s the same thing … but dr Google made me freak out again .. and thinking it’s GPN
I would suggest you decide that your remaining symptoms are nothing more than Perceived Danger Pain or symptoms. So many neuralgias are nothing more than medical labels given by doctors that cannot prove the cause of the pain or symptoms. SO many are simply perceived danger. ua-cam.com/video/tnU6KBAv5fg/v-deo.html
I need help and maybe helping me with this question will help others. I've watched 2 of these success videos that are meant to encourage but they scared the crap out of me. This one caused me to sob this morning. It caused me to catastrophize even more that my symptoms can and will get worse before they get better. Part of my thing is I emphasize with other people's pain so hard when someone else's back goes out. Mine hurts too so I have a really hard time listening. Any suggestion would be helpful.
U think pain is bad in your jaw? Wait till you get jaw crunching and grinding that last and never gets better..Its in my jaw joint..I cant opem as wide as I used to.. All this happened after my Mom died and right after loosing my job. I Had also taken care of her for 5 years...The joint when it is effected is a challenge..I had many TMS stuff...sciatica in both legs, neck pain etc and compared to the jaw it felt like a treat. I still cant tell id it is TMS...Oral surgeons want to do surgery which I am not tp keen because the success rate is low...I try my best but there are days I want off this planet 2. Dan's chanel.helps me cope...
Omg, I just thought of something. We evolved to be afraid of lions and finding food and water. Our unconscious does not understand all this complexity.
@@besteterzioglu9258 What if the perception or diagnosis of nerve pain is incorrect? Many people are told they have nerve damage and it was TMS/Perceived Danger Pain all along. This video explains the cause of pain. ua-cam.com/video/tnU6KBAv5fg/v-deo.html

Wow John, so similar to my TMS/CRPS journey - After 3 yrs of not knowing what was wrong, I found Dan - thank you for sharing as the nerve discomfort is so challenging 😥 but I no longer freak out, I tell my brain I’m safe, it’s okay, and distract or pray
Glad it was helpful!
I feel for you, John
Thank you both.. 🙏🏼wow great interview.. I had sooo many points that I wanted to mention but all I could say is that I’m so grateful for having the opportunity to watch it..🙏🏼☺️
John, we appreciate you sharing your journey, so much of what you said resonates with me, including the darkness in some days..😔 I’m so sorry for your losses..
thank you for being interviewed and sharing your vulnerabilities through this process. Much of of the struggles you have had have been a part of many of us listening and it really helps when we hear someone else who has gone through a lot and getting better, you are on the road to an even better life. 😊
Dan, I can’t thank you enough.. your words, your wisdom, your persistence helps us beyond words..
please keep posting success stories..🙏🏼💜
Namaste..🙏🏼
It's my pleasure.
Thank you for this amazing video Dan, I can relate to John on so many levels but thankfully I found Dan whilst I was deeply googling my symptoms so only had this for around 2 years. I too read Dr Sarno books but it was the daily videos by Dan that got me through it. Thank you both for sharing this and Dan for helping me when I had no clue what was happening to me.
Thanks Marilyn. Really glad you made it through. If you want to share your story like John did, feel free to reach out and schedule a "Success Story Interview" at: TalkWithDan.com
Excellent. As far as the faith goes I like the clarification but I will say I borrowed some of your faith Dan in the beginning because I thought how the heck can this be ! But the proof is in the pudding it’s the truth. I had faith in your understanding of the mind body connection. I’m so happy this guy is better . Awesome
I'm glad he's better too.
Big hug to all of you
You are right. People are not ready to hear that their pain is stress induced. And this is the exact reason I keep posting daily.
Very powerful interview. So happy for John ❤️

Regarding "leap of faith", Nichole Sachs asks people to "borrow" her belief until personal experience and evidence can vitalize their own belief and propel recovery.
I have said that often as well. If you aren't confident, borrow my confidence.
Anyone would be blessed to be in a relationship with you , sorry to hear that
Great interview John. Very helpful to hear your clear articulate story. Also it’s a good reminder that our minds can create the most intense pain.
Yes, our minds can. But if they can create the pain, they can turn it off too.
Just now watched this episode. John Thankyou! Appreciate your openess. Much you said resonated! Dan really gets it. Im an amazing one as I conquered TMS once 2015 prostatitus 4 months 4 Drs every test. Then I stumbled upon Dr Schubiner s book. Healed in 1 week. Usually after a doctor doesn’t find anything or if it’s ambiguous, my mind lets it go and i heal and start over with a new “thing.”
I’ve been under a lot of stress and for the past 5 months, it’s been a revolving door of pain and shifting pain.

Great Dan x more of these please … they are super helpful to many of us on this road 👌🏼
You got it!
Awesome interview 🙏😇✝️To God be the glory !
Thank you for sharing! Lot's of really good information! Dan - really appreciate the help.

I can understand I don’t Rember my old life before pain but I’m trying to move forward and ge back to my old life pain free
wonderful video! I wondered how, if one is in intense pain, is it possible to be indifferent? I can be indifferent to minor irritations, or annoyances, but how is it possible to "flip off" some major pain and go on with your day ?
Often indifference is NOT available to you. But you don't start with indifference. A video on that topic.

@@TE-7302- Don't doubt if it's TMS. Do the TMS assessments. Both of them. KNOW what it is. It doesn't have to move to be TMS. isThisTMS.com
Symptom imperative is like the getting a trophy , that’s it’s a 100% TMS , and is eventually going away , you’ve caught it !!
I had the dry eyes...wow...these symptoms are so mischievous!!
Dan is there any chance I could get in contact with John? My story is extremely similar to his and I’d love to ask him some questions
I'm not able to give out anyone's personal contact information, but if you send me your info through my contact page, I can pass it along to him. I have no idea if he's up to speak with others, but I can ask. www.painfreeyou.com/contact
Hi Dan, how can I get in touch with you?
Anyone with shooting/zapping throat pain also happens in ear and jaw
My symptoms align with glossopharyngeal neuralgia… but mine are not excruciating pain as they describe… also happens very randomly
It’s not triggered by swallowing / chewing and etc
I also had an overall nerve pain that is almost 95% gone thanks to Dan … it was totally TMS
So I came back here … thinking it’s the same thing … but dr Google made me freak out again .. and thinking it’s GPN

Wait
till you get jaw crunching and grinding that last and never gets better..Its in my jaw joint..I cant opem as wide as I used to..
