As someone who was a little worried about the complexities of the process of moving my pup to Oahu, I would definitely recommend you find a vet that specializes in travel certifications and Hawaii specifically. I found a vet that has a team of people who specialize in this and they have made the process sooo easy. They essentially took care of literally everything.
The whole process cost me about $600-$700 and took about 3.5 months.

I’m a Hawaii resident who takes our cat to the mainland where we stay for four to five months each summer and fall. We keep up on Pookie’s vaccines and his FAVN blood titer, and when we return, we get a health certificate from our local veterinarian and topical required tick medication, pay $98 for re-entry, and we’re set. It is important that you slog through the dense instructions given by Animal Quarantine, but it’s really not all that bad these days. Also, submit your paperwork at least 10 days before your arrival. It’s really quite simple, if you can follow directions. Good luck to you!

Please be aware. we moved to hawaii with our furr babies and they got cancer fibrosarcoma years after got rabies vaccine. Our vet oncologist in mainland confirmed it that rabies vaccine is the cause in many cases. apparently many articles from pets hospital about that and I didn’t know before. If only I could turn back time. it’s so unnecessary for rabies vaccine for indoor pets, they keep saying because hawaii rabies free but when even the last time they got rabies case. I am not against vaccines to human but I wouldn’t bring my pets for holiday to hawaii if it’s risk their life or wouldn’t moved and stay with them. if you do the vaccine ensure ask your vet to inject it in the leg so if the pet get cancer it can be removed by amputated 😢

I agree with all the above(from the video comments/statements). You need to have the pet micro-chipped as well. I got to Oahu back in 2019, and the process from plane to quarantine dept./release was painless(I had all my paperwork processed and ready to go). *small cat, small dog
did your pet have to quarantine
@@marco1974 No quarantine. I paid a fee and was able to leave with my pets about 1hr after getting off the plane.
@@robnalu6436 Rob, Thanks for the reply !! Sorry for the impolite way i just asked the question....i had just read what ya wrote and I was walking outta the house but just wrote quickly. Is that fee an option in the process or is it still important to make sure I fly in with my cat and be there before they close that day in order to not have my cat quarantined?

Aloha.....I live in Montreal but originally from Bay Area and my old man worked ofr United Airlines so since I was born in '74 I have been going to Waikiki almost every September. My wife and I will be there this September as well and I will be looking for jobs as I am in hospitality as a manager!!! Hope you and your family are safe and enjoying your life to the fullest!!!
I know this more about hide let’s which my wife and I have but we also have 5 horses that we would need to bring over what procedures are in place for those animals?
That's a good one. It probably falls under livestock related issues and will require shipping vessels over water

Quarantine goes into effect regardless of how you get here, by private jet or otherwise
If you want to get around animal restrictions in condos, just have a friendly doctor write you a note that you need an “emotional support animal” because you fighting stress, anxiety, depression, ptsd, etc, it worked for my a coworker I had in a previous job, she was able to get a medium size dog in a place that didn’t allow any in Chicago
