guys it seems like this method has work but when you restart your computer and check again the computer contains the older tpm version no updates were done to the drivers
how it should work, because TPM 1.2 is a physical module. It turns out that we are downloading version 2.0 for a module that is designed for 1.2? The module will not break corny from this?
You cant turn a TPM 1.2 chip into a TPM 2.0 chip with a software update. It is hard coded into the chip. You have to physically swap out a TPM 1.2 chip with a TPM 2.0 chip. That is if your motherboard has a TPM header and the TPM chip is not built into the motherboard. Also you can only swap out the chip in the header to TPM 2.0 if your motherboard's BIOS or hardware is TPM 2.0 compliant.
It will of course not work "for almost every PC". Because this trick won't change the TPM chip if it is only 1.2 - and maaany are out there. (And those that have 2.0 will already be detected as such). No idea, why a PC should show 1.2 when it already has 2.0, but this trick here (unfortunately) will not help many.
@@SasoRepansek Some desktop and server PCs have the TPM chip on a small addoncard put onto the mainboard. There you could upgrade them by buying a compatible TPM2 chip.
It's not working on a laptop hp g2 450 because it's not in the hardware. It won't work unless you have that chip in your computer /laptop. By the way its the easiest way to do it
When i go to recovery and enter bios i have option set it on tpm 2.0 but there pc dont recognize any device, so when i change it and save, it automatically chanes to dttp from ptt. Also i foung tpm 2.0 in device manager as security device, but bios still dont recognize any device. Also i tried to fix it by updating bios, that doesnt work. Can you help me fix it?
so... I followed the steps i had 1.2, after i updated it, it disappeared from everything in general cant find my tpm anywhere.. also cant find "security devices" in device manager since, any help?
Please, when anyone restarts their PC and it does no change, this means that it is not compatible.
Thank you.

if you reinstall a new version of windows your manipulation will have no effect and the TPM will be read as TPM 1.2

It just don't work, don't realice any changes if it isn't compatible
It didn't work. I restarted the computer and did all you told me to do, BUT it still says that I have TPM 1.2 and not 2.0.
Yes, the trick here is fake. It just tries to load a different driver, but of course the device itself stays 1.2.

You need to have an 8th gen Intel cpu, adding a tpm 2.0 chip or "updating it" won't do anything.
so if computer is older then 2018 has no option to change 1.2 to 2.0?
